@@reedplaysgames for a cis woman that’s really impressive. Lyrics
I’m the strong one, I'm not nervous
I'm as tough as the crust of the earth is
I move mountains, I move churches
And I glow 'cause I know what my worth is
I don't ask how hard the work is
Got a rough indestructible surface
Diamonds and platinum, I find 'em, I flatten 'em
I take what I'm handed, I break what's demanding
But
Under the surface
I feel berserk as a tightrope walker in a three-ring circus
Under the surface
Was Hercules ever like "Yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus"?
Under the surface
I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service
A flaw or a crack
The straw in the stack
That breaks the camel's back
What breaks the camel's back it's
Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'till you just go pop, whoa
Give it to your sister, your sister's older
Give her all the heavy things we can't shoulder
Who am I if I can't run with the ball?
If I fall to
Pressure like a grip, grip, grip and it won't let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick 'til it's ready to blow, whoa
Give it to your sister, your sister's stronger
See if she can hang on a little longer
Who am I if I can't carry it all?
If I falter
Under the surface
I hide my nerves, and it worsens, I worry something is gonna hurt us
Under the surface
The ship doesn't swerve as it heard how big the iceberg is
Under the surface
I think about my purpose, can I somehow preserve this?
Line up the dominoes
A light wind blows
You try to stop it tumbling
But on and on it goes
But wait
If I could shake the crushing weight of expectations
Would that free some room up for joy
Or relaxation, or simple pleasure?
Instead we measure this growing pressure
Keeps growing, keep going
'Cause all we know is
Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'til you just go pop, whoa-oh-oh
Give it to your sister, it doesn't hurt
And see if she can handle every family burden
Watch as she buckles and bends but never breaks
No mistakes just
Pressure like a grip, grip, grip and it won't let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick 'til it's ready to blow, whoa
Give it to your sister and never wonder
If the same pressure would've pulled you under
Who am I if I don't have what it takes?
No cracks, no breaks
No mistakes, no pressure

She is SKILLED!!! The tone of it all. And that bassist is a beast
Such a strong confident voice, it magnified every note in such a cool way causing an eruption of emotion in your audience. you have a truly unique voice and talent, thank you so much for sharing it
WOW! How is it possible to be even more impressed with Jessica Darrow!
Yo! I cannot get enough!!!
That bass is PERFECT!!!
This song has captured me. Soooo good! Love what you did with this especially at 2:00. Gorgeous!
Song written by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda...creator and writer of Hamilton, In The Heights, and several songs from Moana...including "How Far I'll Go"
That's great...um...now let's hear Pink's version :) - I really do enjoy Jessica's version, amazing! Loved the ending of the video too! Disney, Lin-Manuel, these actors, the story...Nailed It!
Your voice is so magical I could listen to u for days ✨
This needs more views wtf. Her voice is fire! I want more of these smokey jazzy vocals! She had the best voice in Encanto for sure - Jessica you are so talented!
Thank you🥰
@@JessicaDarrowOfficial Holy crap pls comment on me i will actually give you something special if u comment ill give u my dog ill give you my drawings 😌
I watched this movie and this song hit me so freaking hard. Been on repeat since the movie came out. Jesus christ this song slaps so freaking hard! GOOOD JOB!
Jessica, I really love your voice. Will be checking out more of the music you have out there. And your performance in the movie was stellar. Character voicing and character singing is not easy and you hit it out of the park.
You have outstanding vocals I loved Luisa and you blew me away with this ❤️
This song has been stuck in my head for days. I love this version too.
Love seeing the person behind the voice singing live 😭
The world is sleeping on this voice. Pure gold.
I literally think this is my favourite Disney song now, this and Poor Unfortunate Souls.
This is my top favorite song of the movie and Luisa is my favorite character (along with Bruno, hehe). Your voice was literally meant for Luisa. Thank u so much for adding life and emotion to both the song and the character.
🤦🏻♀️ omg, this is a cover by the original artist. I’m so dumb 😅
This is an incredible version. It works so well in this style. Thank you for sharing!
I love this version. Jessica, you are HIGHLY UNDERRATED. I cant wait to see more of you.
What a voice my goodness! I loved this song!
This is AMAZING... as a jazz choir kid I am living for this.
Beautiful and deep voice, so chilling and moving. Love this!
“Who am I if I can carry it all?” sounds like every counseling session I’ve ever had.
As the oldest of 3 and also the oldest grandchild of my grandparents I relate so much to this song!
This is amazing. People need to do more music as well produced and good as this. I love how she can change her voice to so many different tones and pitches. I love to sing and I wish I had a voice as strong as hers.
I first heard this song on our way to Thanksgiving on Disney's Sirius XM channel, during an hour Lin Manuel had to himself and played the songs from the movie. When this song played I teared up, it hits hard. Been listening to it on loop ever since. I'd love to see a recording of you singing the song in its original rendition! If a Disney Studio recording doesn't exist, you should make one with the instrumentals behind you!
“And I glow cause I know what my worth is.” ✨ Easily my favorite line from this song. You are a PHENOMENAL vocalist, so many colors and textures to your voice! My favorite song from Encanto.
THIS IS AMAZING! Love this rendition of the song 😍 Your voice is incredible 🎧🎶
My favorite song in YEARZ! I love hearing how versatile Jessica is!
fantastic! My daughter and I are in love with this song and your singing.
What a phenomenally stunning rendition! LOVE it! Heard it in the movie, and thought it was by far the best song in Encanto. Jessica sings both versions with such profoundly emotional and vigorous commitment, with a gorgeously edgy, powerful yet delicate interpretation. Completely blown away by the talent, voice, acting - everything. Exceptional support by Mike on bass. Can't wait to see and hear more in the future!
