- 6th grade- it’s middle school! The beginning of those tween years, too. What does it look like to homeschool during middle school? With plenty of time to help our 6th grader try out new interests, and introducing #lifeskills, we’ve loved figuring out how homeschooling middle school looks for our family. What would you add to this?!

❤Homeschool freebies?! Yes please! Melissaisteaching.com/freebies
Really enjoyed your friendly and practical approach! Thanks for sharing how you structure 6th grade with the balance of freedom and structure, and for all the great recommendations.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! How has your homeschool journey been so far?
I love how you make scripture study a part of your children's life. It is so important to pour the Word of God into their lives, it's just lovely to see and hear about this in your family's journey with educating your kiddos! God Bless you!
Thank you Jane! I know you know, but when we think about what we want them to be known for... it's this. 🤍
My 7th grader is often done a good deal of her work the night before as well :)
Yay! I love seeing them make those "help your future self" decisions!
Great video. I really like the organization of everything and you mentioned a few interesting online resources I’d never heard of. Thank you for sharing. Also I didn’t see History in the line up, is that something you do at a separate time as a family?
So glad it was helpful! Good catch. So far, we've done history via book studies (Bud, Not Buddy, The War That Saved My Life, etc), but we'll be starting History for the Ages next year. www.youtube.com/@HistoryfortheAges
How did you get an epic account as a homeschool family? My daughter had it in public school and really wants to use it again!
I simply signed up as a school. Things may have changed, but give it a try! We just use a simple name for our homeschool for programs like this.
Anything by Michael Morpurgo
Noted!
How are you able to register as an educator with epic? It does not allow me without an email linked to an organization of some sort.
Hey! Start with "I'm an educator" then the place where it asks you to list your school, I just named our homeschool. Your choice as to what you call yours, but that's the basis for it. I chose "private" for the type of school and it worked. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
@melissaisteaching thank you. I did try that, but then it asked for an email, and if you use a gmail or outlook account, it does not allow you to register.
@@marissamarissa119 odd... I was able to. Maybe retry it with charter instead of private?
Thank you for sharing your resources! How did you sign up for free educator account? It won’t let me use a gmail account.
Click Epic School, and go to add your school. Be sure you choose that it's a private school (as that's true!) and name your homeschool. You should be able to proceed like that.
@@melissaisteaching I tried signing up as you said, but it keeps saying I can’t use a gmail account. Are you using a gmail account to sign up?
