Hope you guys have a good year with your 6th Grader! If you want the checklist template, it’s here: joyful-noise-learning.ck.page/e1e764f683 And don’t forget to watch Katie’s 6th Grade plan as well!
YAY for American Heritage Girls!!! My girl is 12 also. She is super nervous about leveling up next year. Being an explorer was been great. We do additional badge work at home since those badges are super in depth! Thanks for the template! Its super cute and will be a tremendous help towards independence.
Thank you for sharing this (& the weekly template)! My 4th & 7th graders are ready for more independence and accountability and this is a perfect step in that direction.
I’m so thankful you made this video, I am new to homeschooling for a 6th grade special needs child. I have to learn routine as well as keep a planner so I stay on top of things. I pray I can do it. I love your channel. And u started following your friend as well ❤ have a great weekend I look forward to to watching your next video
Excited to try the checklist! Also, I Love the "We are all growing up" comment. I am learning new things daily and trying to improve. Our family has come so far in the short time since we started Homeschooling!
My daughter is in 6th grade too and her first year homeschooling. I don’t have a list yet because I’m not sure what our schedule will be. But I love your checklist idea! Thank you for sharing
I have a 6th grader girl as well who I’m trying to move her to be more self motivated. Thank you for this video and checklist. Question- how has the checklist been going for your 6th grader so far?
Great question, well, my 6th grader doesn't love checklists like I do 😣. And I actually just modified it yesterday to make the morning, individual work, and afternoon activities clearer. Also, she has been pretty good to get the things done she needs to without actually checking things off on the list. (My boys love the checking off part, lol). So, I don't always make her check it off. She just uses it as a reference for what needs to be done.
I do read alouds every morning if I can! There is usually one morning a week where I have to cut it out and move it to bedtime instead (or just skip it because we got started late, or have an appointment or something). Science and History we rotate each morning. History is 2 mornings a week, science is about 1 morning a week. So a typical morning has read aloud and history OR science. This takes about an hour, in case you’re curious 😉

Thanks for the ideas. My son is going into 6th grade and I got him a planner as well but I like the list idea too.
I love a good planner :) I wish my daughter did, though 😆
