Well, I can’t guarantee anything, but they don’t move very easily and I did not see any impact shift left or right even out at distance so everything must be OK. I also noticed when I apply the top rings it helps keep the shims even. By this time now I have changed out several different scopes using the same rings and shim inserts combination and have had zero issues. I’m very happy with those rings.
Thanks, just got these. 1 hour plus on hold with Burris to ask a tech question. Mmmm. So I assume you must always have equal +/- inserts or the diameter to fit the scope barrel is wrong, Yes or no? For a less expensive smaller (Vortex or Bushnell) scope on a 223/556 AR to get on paper & preserve moa turret adjustments, would you start with zero front and +5 rear? this is the 1.25 inch height that I got. 1inch barrel. THX subbed
Yes, if you use -10 then you must use +10 on the same Mount. For choosing shim inserts It’s really going to depend on what distance you want to zero the scoop at. I would say zero gun in without any shim inserts just using their zero zeros or using previous rings that was mounted to the gun. Once you have your gun sighted in at the distance you choose, dial your turret down and count how many minutes of elevation you have left then choose those inserts that match the closest to that.
When you are turning the scope arent shims turn with it? I mean how you can guarantee they didnt?

It definitely had extra MOA because on the way your rifle mounts are built and definitely offset it very well

Thanks, Burris suggests for 100 yd start with zero front & -10 rear. @@themichiganoutdoorsman
