    yeah, it's just another reason, in addition to many more, why China is so dominant in TT.
    Having a coach like Ma lin is a huge investment in a team progress

      Coaches like Ma lin is considered a national treasure for China, I am sure other countries will pay a fortune for him to train there teams but China gives them good money and take care of them very well, that's why as you said they are number one

      He can almost use every skill perfectly in training but as a traditional penhold player he cannot put all those skills in his technique system.When he was a player,he had to give up a lot of backhand skills in order to concentrate on forehand attack because the speed and spin of pingpong ball was way higher in his era.

    i believe is not only the head of the racket , but where i touch the ball , more left if i want to go diagonal, more right if i want to go longline

    So funny that the one teaching the bachand flip is Ma Lin, the traditional penholder that didn't use RPB during his career. He shows why he is one of the players with more skill once again!

      I know, e had, but his expertise is based the use of traditional one, not saying he couldn't do it with ease just that the situation abouthaving him teaching the flick backhand can be unexpected at first glance that's all

    If you make an imaginary line horizontal to the racket that ends on both sides, when your opponent flicks, to know where the ball is going to go, you have to look - right after he finishes hitting the ball with the racket In which direction does the imaginary line point. / In the topspin you see where the arm is pointing and that is where the ball goes, but the movement is longer and there is more time to see where the movement begins and ends. In the flick the movement originates from a very small place and the arm can fool you, since it can end anywhere.

    It is very difficult to believe that at the level that player is at, she still does not know how to perform a backhand flick, which is taught in any club in the world at an amateur level.

      do you think they are the same thing?pro players are focused more on basic skills and amatuers believe they master them all

    • @paulispaul1974
      @paulispaul1974 10 місяців тому

      @@zilijia The video technique is the one that has been taught for decades. There is no secret, even the Chinese men's team and all the Western teams have always practiced it. It is something very basic that at the international level in which the player in the video is playing, it is IMPOSSIBLE that she has not known it since she was a child. I guess she (and others) do it out of respect for the coach (retired player). It's extremely Asian behaviour.
