I remember when the MCC came out on steam, I was so excited to play halo again after not having an xbox for so long. got up in the middle of the night to pre-install it. Played a bunch of halo reach that day. When I was about to hop off I exited to the main menu and was greeted by this sound track, and it made me cry. no amount of nostalgia can bring back the happiness I felt as a child, its long gone now.
I recently got back into gaming last year after not playing since reach. And man when I loaded up mcc on my used xbox one I had tears. "Dad why are you crying"? Alright kids grab a controller 🥹

It's just a little insane how many emotions or scenes this ost invokes in just the first 17 seconds. Going from the image of an army arriving to save what was a seemingly lost batte, all the way to a military cemetary being filled with the souls that were sacrificed for that war. Going from comfort to melancholy to pure sadness depending on how you interpret it. Man this just simply amazing.
Me mourning the loss of Halo as it once was and sad that modern greed has ruined a once legendary franchise. Rest in Peace Halo. Gone, but not forgotten.
its incredible that so many, many people can hear this and all feel the same feeling. that has to prove that times back then were indeed better than now, right? perhaps the best they ever have been. and i think its deeper than just the games we played. i think life was just good for everyone. we were happy. and i dont think we know how to be happy anymore, but when something reminds us of those times we get the deep urge to feel it again knowing it will never happen. its very sad.

Y'know from the ages of 6 till 12, videogames were nothing than dumb fun to me. But there were games that, for some reason, were more than that. Games that changed me. Both of those games were flagship titles of the original Xbox. Both of those games, were halo. Their music hit me hard, even as a kid. But where Combat evolved merely opened the doorbto realising how beautiful games could be, Halo 2 is what cemented that mindset. Even as a kid, I was able to feel the Arbiter's struggles. Halo 2 did what most fiction fails to do: show you the prespective of "the enemy" in a fair way. I could see how hurt he was in his final effort to save Tatarus, and I felt so sh*tty when Tartarus couldn't accept it, even knowing that it was in no way the Arbiter's fault. The most capitivating story from beginning to end.

Despite Destiny being a good game and having loose similarities to Halo, its sequel, Destiny 2, was a boring mess, filled with lootboxes, boring missions, and overall, a pay-to-win game. Bungie went from being a caring company to a lazy studio. And since 343 took over Halo, the quality of the series begins to drop when Halo 4 and 5 came out, leaving fans less happy and became toxic of the newer games not being like Bungie's 5 Halo games (CE, 2, 3, 3 ODST, Reach). Although Halo Infinite itself (imo) is an actual Halo than 4 and 5 due to its near-epic story like Bungie, the armor of the characters, and the multiplayer being fun than ever, with co-op and Forge recently added. I am so proud of coming back as a Halo fan since the Bungie days when I was a kid who was bad at multiplayer. Halo 4 was alright, never tried 5 until as of now (and it was mediocre)...but Infinite shows how 343 can listen to fans in making it look like Bungie's portrayal of the series as possible. The series may not have aged perfectly, but it remained *Unforgotten.*

Well game launched like garbage campaign was boring story wise and the game was basically farcry and multiplayer was just a ok but then 343 lied about customization and put color presets and armor behind a pay wall nobody played halo infinite after a while after launch and only a couple came back when forge was added just like halo 5 it didn't come out at launch but you can play halo 5 forge and get pretty much a better experience 343 really doesn't care about the fans that much. it wasn't really halo 5 that killed the identity cause people still like it and while it did some things wrong it had a big fan base halo infinite killed the identity cause at this point 343 did it wrong after wrong after wrong to where everyone just went and left the series in general to go play something else
In 343`s defence, they done wonders for the charecters of halo, despite a few misses. They turned the near-silent McGuffin that was Chief into a man struggling with loss and a lack of basic humanity with very relatable valubilites, gave Jacob and Miranda a worthy succseor with Lasky. turned Halsey from a nigh-on mythical name to an aged mother wracked with guilt. And last but not least, 343 introduced a villian with as much protenical and importance seen since the days of Mendicant Bias and the Gravemind, The Ur-Didact.

No developer should lose their job unless they done something horrible. Doing something completely different to the franchise is not one of them. It’s the higher ups that cause this and the developers has to go through it. So if you want someone lose their jobs blame the higher-ups.
