      People say 343 broke Halo by making it about MC as a character, but I think they could've embraced it. Halo universe it definitely fit for any narrative you choose. Such a shame they just did a bad job of it for H4 and an awful one for H5.
      As much as H4 already shows signs of Halo's downfall, it was a solid experience when it comes to the emotional beats done right, and it could've rivaled Bungie's trilogy if it had a good campaign.

    • @nepnepguythegreatestofall6032
      @nepnepguythegreatestofall6032 Рік тому +5

      I get that MC is supposed to represent the player and all, but coming around Halo 3, he started to feel more like an empty, lifeless suit just killing things with no other motivation but to save the world over and over again.
      I think that Halo 4, although not a perfect game, finally gave MC the humanity he deserved. When he lost Cortana, the AI sidekick he depended on throughout most of his life, he suddenly wasn't the war machine that just followed waypoints and briefings. At that moment, he felt alone, empty, and without purpose. And he still grieves the loss of his only best friend who understood him, AI or not.

    Know what this songs *says* to me?
    That Master Chief, though he is an outstanding team player, is alone. He charges in alone. He fights alone. And typically leaves alone. Usually with an AI to assist him, lifetimes away from being the little kid, John the King of the Hill, his existence is dedicated to fighting and protecting others.
    Even his entry into service, combat, and genetic mutation was alone. It wasn’t a choice for him. He just was selected and survived it.
    Furthermore his size, his appearance, his ever-covered identity and face show yet don’t show… he is alone. Something about seeing him speaks solitude. How he sits in a brooding manner, hands resting on knees, head cocked somewhat toward the floor, at the back of all those dropships. His invisible eyes likely looking to the horizon. To what the next need is, mission is, battle is. Without peer, others have tried but they’re all gone and he remains, again, yes, alone.
    Now his intrepid action and determination are his legacy. Yet, it’s not an ended legacy it simply doesn’t end. The man is frozen and thawed when he’s needed again.
    In other words, and I believe is the namesake of this song, he’s alone yet Unforgotten. Everyone knows about him but no one is going with him- into the worst frays of conflict out there. In fact, he’s going into it for the sake of everyone else. What a beautiful irony.
    Spartan 117, you are always in the hearts of those you serve-everyone.

       @arianalijani1008 nostalgia about the 7th gen is so real, its not that we have rose tinted glasses or anything, its that products and consoles had more personality, like windows 7's aero being refreshing and there was more courage for online play and online chatting, every xbox 360 came with a free mic (sure it sounded bad but its still a mic and everyone had it), nowadays online chatting is less popular and everythings more corpo, back then microsoft was still shit but atleast made something out of it, what times have passed.

      I'm willing to see what 343 does to Infinite. HW2 is probably the game that made me remember Bungi. Why? You ask whilst nutting harder then ever.
      Because it gave me the same vibe Bungi's games' did.
      And hat's off to the voice actors. They nailed it.
      You see, Halo isn't about the looks, movement and multiplayer, it's about the story. Don't believe me? play Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST and Reach. Play the original HW if that don't change ya mind. And HW wasn't made by Bungi, infact it was disapproved.

But Halo is different. Halo has characters you care about, a universe to get invested in, and a sweeping soundtrack that gives you those tingles down your spine and even puts tears in your eyes. All of these elements elevate Halo far beyond your Call of Duties, your Medal of Honors and your Battlefields and make it something truly special.

    I’ve been playing halo since I was a little kid like most of us have but I always admired seeing this character who came from nothing who had nothing but a rifle and his AI and a scary sense of duty and will. Growing up I didn’t have friends I was an outcast but I played halo all the time online on reach and 3 I met some good people through that. It’s because of seeing not just master chief but all of humanity fighting and putting their hope the men that carried a rifle that made me think that joining the real military will help me fill my sense of duty. I met my two best friend on halo and we ended up meeting for the first real time in bootcamp in the same platoon all trying to become marines. It’s because of halo and the master chief that I have friends and family I’ll never lose. Me and the boys still sit down every now and then and listen to this song because the nostalgia just hits so incredibly hard. The memories the friends the family and community created because of this game astounds me and it’s incredible. I’m so happy to be apart of the halo fan base and community.
