Ours are clannish institutions and clannish democracy. People's econo-industrial interests are unattended. Example: tech, skills education is the only sure route to people's prosperity and income accrual. Shockingly this side of Pakistan's national is almost totally ignored: how much provincial and federal budgets and foreign aid is apportioned for national youths skills, tech education and training? Party governments ascend and descend from power portals right from 1947 but can any party claim to have given priority to tech education in Pakistan? Non-tech culture has drowned the talented youth of Pakistan to pools of uncertainty, perforce driving them to foreign countries. Situation horrendous!

Lastly, yes, secularism is a must for Pakistan to become a "civilized" and a "stable" nation - with tolerance, patience, and perseverance it may achieve more.
