When I think of Tobacco I remember my first real Cuban. I was taught to dip it in Cognac for a unique taste. A perfume with this marriage would be amazing to find, a Cognac/Tobacco Perfume.

Another great tobacco fragrance from Xerjoff is Holysm. Dark, earthy, pine and green notes, and a ton of tobacco. It also lasts all day. It’s nothing like Naxos, so only try it if you’re a fan of a house like Amouage.

Marcelo, my man! 👊🏻 Exceptional maté talk as always! When done well, tobacco is one of my favorite notes, if not my absolute favorite! You’ve got some excellent recommendations in this video, especially Royal Tobacco 🤩 Cecile Zarokian constructed an absolute masterpiece for Amouage when she perfumed that fragrance! I’m not quite sure why, but I associate Royal Tobacco with a scent memory of visiting a specific Christmas display store when I was much younger. It brings a me joy every time I smell it! A standout tobacco fragrance you’ve got to get your nose on is La Dolce Vita from Primera Perfumes Kuwait! A recent discovery of mine that has quickly become a favorite! It provides a unique, fresh yet slightly sweet take on the note of tobacco. The note breakdown includes things like dates, lavender, assam oud (fear not, it is in no ways a dirty oud), and frankincense (among others); however it’s not nearly as dark, nor as heavy as the breakdown would suggest. It’s strong, yet surprisingly ethereal. Much fresher and more versatile than you’d expect! It’s difficult to convey in words, but it’s one that I think any tobacco fragrance lover must experience!
Marcelo, you’ve done it again! I have Or Du Serail (along with 34 Boulevard Saint Germain - Diptyque & the Nicolai Perfumes Discovery Kit) arriving Friday from Paris, so this review is very timely. This will be my first Naomi Goodsir, I hear they can be challenging. I also looked at Une Nuit Nomade, but I think I’m going to go with Sugar Leather and Ambre Khandjar in a bit. Memory Motel is my 3rd place option if I go deeper in the catalog, as I can’t get enough of the note of Iris. On Monday, I received the Ephemeral Dyadic Discovery Kit, based upon on your recommendation. I haven’t got into it yet, that’ll be this weekend’s project. I’m saving up my nose’s strength, I’ve got a lot of smelling to do!

Amazing recommendations - Or Du Serail is the one I would be most interested in. Sounds like a wild composition. I would also recommend trying Triumph of Bacchus by Argos. It's not tobacco-centric but such a captivating fragrance.
🟠Starlight! Finally Mate Talk time! I love that Ou De Serail is in this lineup again. Tobacco has always been one of the notes that I've loved since I started gg into niche. Tough for me to wear these heavily in the Singapore heat but I miss wearing it more religiously. And I should get back into it. Thanks to you as well, I've attained Ou De Serail really early on since yourself and Laura from T2M discussed this. Amazing fragrance. Great stuff again Marcelo!! @@TheNicheFragranceCollector Well now your putting me on the spot. Here goes; to me it's soft, feminine and calming. Imagine sipping green tea while looking over a garden of herbs and roses. I think Bloomtea will be refreshing on a warm day. It's non offensive an sits close to the skin, but I find I will get a waft of scent at different times during the day. I particularly like to wear it at night and then settle down to read a book. I can still smell it in the morning. I've even sprayed it onto a pillow. Some reviewers have commented that to them it smells like a face moisturiser and I can understand that. There is a spa like quality to it.
I love Amouage Royal Tobacco, especially the opening with that licorice and I also enjoy Or du Serail, but find it a tad challenging and lastly Nasomatto BA, the OG. I have these three from the list you mentioned. I am so looking forward to exploring 27 87. Initially I thought tobacco meh (because I voted for Vetiver😁), but realised there are so many nice scents out there. Awesome video Marcelo , next time can we have Vetiver, since it got the second highest vote?

Naxos forever! They should make 1 gallon bottles!!!!! You are going to kill me, but I like Tobacco Vanille and Herod (despite its bad performance). Manhattan by Roja has been a nice surprise!
I don't smoke, but love the tabacco note! You know Fan your Flames by Nishane right? Really reminds me of my grandpa smoking his pipe, he used to get tobacco brands from around the world with different aromas / notes like in perfumery. And thank you again for the Vanille des Afriques! It arrived great and smells wonderful, I expected a pure vanilla fragrance (also heavy because of the Afriques in the name) like Vanille de Tahiti but was suprised. Like the accords on fragrantica I smell mostly Iris with Vanilla, and evolving into more pure vanilla. I watched your review about it on Maté talk #105 and absolutely agree with the things you said! It has a really good concentration, the oils stay visible on my skin for quite some time and the longevity is good, but it doesn't have a huge projection (and that's fine!). I enjoy it and it does well in the Dutch summer so far!
** Torino 22 Still waiting for the weather to warm up here so I can experience Nio like I did for the first time. I still don't think I get Xerjoff yet; my nose doesn't have the experience to fully appreciate the craftsmanship put into the fragrances.
I bought Jubilation XXV as my first Amouage and I got burned, it’s just not for me. I am a huge tobacco fan and I should have done Royal Tobacco. I do love Black Afgano. It’s a very unique scent and so different.
The tobacco in the newest batches of Naxos is way back in the drydown, very deep. I wish it was like the older formulations. About tobacco fragrances, forever Amouage Journey. Forever!
2 years into the fragrance hobby (at 56). My go to bottles are Black Iris, Layton Exclusif, African Leather, By The Fireplace. Recently picked up Montale Arabians Tonka and a few new samples….One of them was Amouage Royal Tobacco. Dang! It smacked me right in the nose - in a good way. Better when it settles a bit. Green tobacco as you say - i get quite strong rosemary. I think it my next purchase but probably wont wear it to the office😎 New subscriber from NZ - like your style.
I know PdM Carlisle officially has no tobacco note, but it smells just like a much smoother & more refined Mancera Red Tobacco. Also, can't imagine anyone snubbing Naxos to be any fun to hang out with.

I wouldn't call Royal Tobacco 5-star, I think it's a tier below. A true 5-star would be something like Royal Crown's "Habanos", perhaps Xerjoff's "Empiryan".

I love tobacco too. These fragrances look interesting but I must admit the only one I tried is Or du sérail....and I hated it. To my nose, it smells like cat pee. I really tried to like it but I can't. I'll check out the others though. Some of my fav tobacco perfumes are Rivalité impériale by Plume Impression and 24 Old Bond Street by Atkinsons.
Because tabacco contains a number of harmful substances, besides nicotine, and is a known carcinogen, it would be wise to skip all tobacco fragrances. I realize they try to remove the harmful components of tobacco, but they cannot remove all of them.

🟠 La Capitale by Xerjoff. Being the Amouage head that I am, I picked up Royal Tobacco as soon as I could find a bottle. It IS commanding! It's a presence you have to stand up for when it walks in the room. It somehow captures the air of authority without apology. My friends can't handle wearing it but enjoy it when I do. If you can wear it with confidence and own it you most likely handle business and aren't taking a day off. I'm just tickled it was featured!

I'm very interested in experiencing Tobacco Honey from Guerlain, but this attainment is to be found in the future, in a galaxy far far away. 😊

You know Fan your Flames by Nishane right? Really reminds me of my grandpa smoking his pipe, he used to get tobacco brands from around the world with different aromas / notes like in perfumery.

It arrived great and smells wonderful, I expected a pure vanilla fragrance (also heavy because of the Afriques in the name) like Vanille de Tahiti but was suprised.
Like the accords on fragrantica I smell mostly Iris with Vanilla, and evolving into more pure vanilla.
I watched your review about it on Maté talk #105 and absolutely agree with the things you said!
It has a really good concentration, the oils stay visible on my skin for quite some time and the longevity is good, but it doesn't have a huge projection (and that's fine!).
I enjoy it and it does well in the Dutch summer so far!

I bought Jubilation XXV as my first Amouage and I got burned, it’s just not for me. I am a huge tobacco fan and I should have done Royal Tobacco. I do love Black Afgano. It’s a very unique scent and so different.

The tobacco in the newest batches of Naxos is way back in the drydown, very deep. I wish it was like the older formulations.
About tobacco fragrances, forever Amouage Journey. Forever!
2 years into the fragrance hobby (at 56). My go to bottles are Black Iris, Layton Exclusif, African Leather, By The Fireplace. Recently picked up Montale Arabians Tonka and a few new samples….One of them was Amouage Royal Tobacco. Dang! It smacked me right in the nose - in a good way. Better when it settles a bit. Green tobacco as you say - i get quite strong rosemary. I think it my next purchase but probably wont wear it to the office😎 New subscriber from NZ - like your style.

I know PdM Carlisle officially has no tobacco note, but it smells just like a much smoother & more refined Mancera Red Tobacco. Also, can't imagine anyone snubbing Naxos to be any fun to hang out with.

No Pavillon Rouge? Currently that's my favourite. It's very natural smelling. 18.21 Tobacco Spirits is also a *very* good inexpensive tobacco fragrance

I wouldn't call Royal Tobacco 5-star, I think it's a tier below. A true 5-star would be something like Royal Crown's "Habanos", perhaps Xerjoff's "Empiryan".
I’m still to test out both of those recommend…but considering that you’re saying that Royal Tobacco isn’t 5 Star General….I can only imagine the power of these other ones👹🤯

I love tobacco too. These fragrances look interesting but I must admit the only one I tried is Or du sérail....and I hated it. To my nose, it smells like cat pee. I really tried to like it but I can't. I'll check out the others though. Some of my fav tobacco perfumes are Rivalité impériale by Plume Impression and 24 Old Bond Street by Atkinsons.

Bought a sample of”or du serail” 8 months ago and I still don’t like that opening 🤢
Because tabacco contains a number of harmful substances, besides nicotine, and is a known carcinogen, it would be wise to skip all tobacco fragrances. I realize they try to remove the harmful components of tobacco, but they cannot remove all of them.

Being the Amouage head that I am, I picked up Royal Tobacco as soon as I could find a bottle.
It IS commanding! It's a presence you have to stand up for when it walks in the room. It somehow captures the air of authority without apology.
My friends can't handle wearing it but enjoy it when I do.
If you can wear it with confidence and own it you most likely handle business and aren't taking a day off.
I'm just tickled it was featured!
