You are the sweetest, most genuine person, and I enjoy your videos so much. I don't know how or why your videos attract some of the douchey-est people I see on Social Media. I wish they'd go away. Lovely video! Hoping this series is leading up to an ATH Oud Wood. 🙂

I really like this style of review. Hearing you really just go based off of preferences is really awesome in addition to the more technical side- a lovely balance 🙂 thank you for this, it's such a great and informative way to hear about the industry and some of its big hitters!

Hi Aaron, I really love your style of review. Please keep them coming. It's very hard to find "real" reviews in the jungle of lots of "influencers". I love love Tom Ford Oud Wood but this is a good one too, around 1/4th of the price.

I'm going to level with you. Never knew what "Type" of fragrance was my style but I think it's become apparent to me that I'm a Rose fragrance guy. Absolutely love Onyx air and sad to see it go. Got a bottle on the way and I might grab another, also have red fever body butter on the way.

Terence, as a professional could you might do a video of Attar oils, as using them "external fixatives" for ready fragrances to be use with? What I've done is 50/50 concentration of attar oil/perfume alcohol, then sprayed that as the first layer to my body, then the original perfume on it. And for my experience, the radiation, projection and the longevity has raised significantly!😊

The Oud Wood Parfum is not the original formulation,,,, 9-10 years ago i had a bottle of Oud Wood with 2008 bach! Oud Wood were denser version of what is now and also the Oud feels like Oud same as in Fragrance du Bois and Carved Oud

You shouldn’t even give those idiots a mention Aaron. I do love the new Oud Wood parfum, but just can’t justify it at that price point unfortunately. In the meantime, I just got my hands on the ATH discovery box for a lot less money and boy that’s been a journey the last few days. So many wonderful fragrances and I might even be coming around to rose fragrances. An honorable mention to Onyx Extreme ❤❤

I used to have Oud Wood EdP 30 ml and even though i really liked the scent, the performance was not good. It lasted on my skin for around 2-3 hours... A couple of days ago i bought it again but this time 10 ml small bottle. What happened was after spraying it on my elbow, it lasted the whole day. Like 10-12 hours. I was really surprised and i was thinking whether they did this on purpose so people buy the bigger bottle or i just got lucky with a old formulatioin?

    • @roadreg1820

If I’m totally honest, it’s probably your nose being reset. This happens to me every time I get a sample or a 10ml. Then when I get the full bottle and wear it, it never feels like it performs like the small decants/samples. I have a 10ml of one million, in its current formulation. I wore it to work thinking it was gonna be weak but I choked myself out all day!! Only did 3 sprays too.

Interesting to hear Oud Wood being described as soft. To me it's really quite harsh smelling. I have tried a couple of abdul samad al qurashi oud oils as well as some of their perfumes, which I must say I think a much more approachable to my nose.
I don't know if it is because of a specific compound used in Oud Wood that I am not compatible with? I have noticed how green irish tweet and blue fragrances like acqua di gio really gives me a headache quite quickly, so maybe that's the case.

I just smelled it and in comparison to carved oud; oud wood smells weak. The richness of carved oud is much better , projection is very strong and longevity is much better. I don’t know about nishane if it is. Less expensive than 330.00 it’s an option after I sample it too.

My daily base scent is Oud Wood Parfum and Lost Cherry together.
Mixed they last all day for me, and they're subtle enough I can put something more projecting and sharp on top like Armani Code or the summer Light Blue flankers.

Nishan Credo is generally a different fragrance, how it is placed next to Tom Ford oud woody is not clear. As for any alhambra and so on, it all lives for half an hour. I want to try the carved oud and then figure out which one of them is powerful. for me, I need to have one-in-one oud wood, but with lethal resistance. for example, the black-to-black mancer lasts 15 hours. That's a monster!
