Not sure if you know who Dr. Ken Berry is, but he is a wealth of knowledge on the keto and carnivore diet. He has several videos. Including why fiber is not important.
It's nice to see you young'uns (I'm 75) are finding all the good stuff that we used to eat back home in West Virginia when I was a Whipper snapper. We just called this fried cabbage and when we smelled it coming from Gran'ma's kitchen we would hang around the porch like a litter of starving pups. You never saw kids drool so much. The good things will always stand the test of time.
Less shopping buy it all at once and have your meals set out that way if you stick it on the fridge when the kids start what’s for dinner you can just point to the fridge older siblings often like to big note themselves by being the one who can read it it’s also an opportunity to hear you child read out loud you can encourage them to sound out unfamiliar words to get their meaning from the other words around them
I've made this keto meal many times using a dutch oven because I use the whole cabbage and onion ( a couple of cloves of garlic, as well). I love the larger batch because of the leftovers. Reheated with a fried egg on top, magnificent! Another perfect keto meal.
One pot, 3 ingredient meals are right up my alley. I really learned to be intentional about my eating. I was/ am an emotional eater. It didn’t matter how full I was, I still ate. Thanks for sharing.💚
I have followed a keto like diet for the last 10 years to heal a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. It has given me back life and I feel great! That is how we got into homesteading because food is our medicine and we wanted the best.
I've made this before but I dice up an apple as well and fry it with the cabbage and onions. Another way I've made it is after the sausage is done I pour V8 over the cabbage and onions and let that all cook down then stir in sausage. My family loves it.
Oooh, love the V8 idea for a flavor change up. I’m a fan of the spicy hot V8. If I’m gonna have an apple, though, I’m gonna have it cold, raw, and savor every bite, as I stick to berries for my fruit (low carb) so apple is a rare treat.
Sarah, you were so delightful in this episode. My husband loves cabbage I mean REALLY loves cabbage! This will be a favorite in our house. Thanks and I will look forward to more one dish simple meals. Thanks so much.
I put a bed of chopped cabbage on the bottom of a cast-iron skillet and put 4-5 chicken thighs on top and some salt and pepper. Put in 350 oven for an hour. The chicken juices go into the cabbage. You can swap out pork chops or your brats and you don't have to watch it or stir it. You can also swap out the cabbage for green beans.

@rosiebrusselmans6257 I didn't mean it isn't keto. I just didn't think about it being keto. I don't follow a keto diet. There's too much high cholesterol in my family history. My mother died of a stroke at age 57 her cholesterol was through the roof. The doctor told me and my siblings to always keep an eye on our cholesterol.
@@marysaylor8458 I'm 57 now, and had a stroke back in 2007 when I was 41, going on 42. I have been on a statin for my cholesterol (it was originally 220) for many years. Sadly, my cardiologist says that once you are on a statin, your body stops trying to regulate your cholesterol on its own, and you end up on the statin for life; regardless of how low your cholesterol goes (mine is now around 40, with 100-120 being normal). It's also too bad because I love grapefruit and grapefruit juice, but am not supposed to have it. I started doing keto and fasting in 2018 for my health and lost 35 pounds. I have stayed low carb since, but not such a strict keto diet. I have felt great and I will never go back to a standard American diet. Thanks for the video!
I make a similar one pot dinner using kielbasa sausage, cabbage, and onions. I chop up the cabbage and put it in the pot with enough water to cover it and add 3 large chicken bullion cubes. Then I chop two onions coarsely and add them to the pot with a half stick of butter. I then slice two packs of sausage into 1/2 thick slices and add to the pot. Cook until the cabbage is tender and you have a tasty supper or lunch. We often serve this with corn muffins and it feeds six people. This recipe is versatile as you can substitute green beans for the cabbage and even add some potatoes if the mood suits you.
I love that recipe. It can also be made with potato cabbage and sausage or corned beef. Add some water. It makes a wonder flavored juice to mash into the potatoes. That is probably not Keto . .Love that you are back in your beautiful new kitchen for videos.

You two look great and have evidently figured out how to live your best life! I do enjoy the cooking videos so don't leave them out. The garden is another favorite topic as well.
I've made this in varrious ways for years. I found the recipe in Fix it and Forget it, Lightly. I've made it stove top, oven casserole, or slow cooker. I've done it with bacon, sausage, smoked turkey, chicken, or beef. Sometimes I'll use some organic carrots. It's really convenient to slow cook it, you just cut everything up and throw it in the cooker for 3to 4 hours on high. When I do slow cook it, I'll add about a teaspoon of better than boullion beef flavor paste dissolved in a quarter cup of hot water, and drizzle it over all the ingredients along with extra virgin olive oil (1Tbs) drizzled. Cover cook high 3 to 4 hours. Work the garden whilst it Cooks...Yum!
I learned this recipe while serving in the Army in Germany in the early 80's, from a German lady there locally. This is by far my favorite dish and each time I serve it reminds me of the gracious German people.
Thinking about it, I think our ancestors ate keto for the most part. I know mine did. This also goes with Sallie Fallon (Dr. ________) findings about eating like our ancestors.
I make similar skillet meal, and I'm not on a Keto diet. I don't have lard, so I use olive oil. I use minced garlic, cabbage and chicken sausage. I pop a lid on the pan at first to help steam the cabbage down, then remove to stir and get all the browned goodies on bottom. Also, if you aren't on Keto, you can add cubed potatoes to it. I zap them in the microwave till half done, then add to finish cooking and brown. The chicken sausage doesn't have as much salt and pepper, so I do add towards the end.
I made something similar to this last night. Deer sausage, diced new potatoes, cabbage, and turkey broth. It was so delicious and filling. Thank you for your video this morning! God bless you and yours!!
Yes! So glad to see you doing cooking videos again. A huge bonus is that you guys are eating Keto, which is how I have been eating for several months. I'm always looking for new recipes. I make variations of this meal. Sometimes I add garlic and ginger, with a small dab of sesame oil at the end for more of an asian flair. We like a little heat so we add red pepper flakes. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top when serving if you like them.

My mom made this 50 years ago before we had ever heard about Keto! Nice recipe! Thank y’all! This meal Brings back good memories!!
One pot meals are just the BEST EVER!. This looks amazing! We are definitely adding to our meal rotation. 😃
I made something similar to this last night. Deer sausage, diced new potatoes, cabbage, and turkey broth. It was so delicious and filling. Thank you for your video this morning! God bless you and yours!!
This is a weekly dish for us!!
Love to see you back in the kitchen. I always enjoy your canning shows as well.
I started Carnivore and went to Keto over a year ago. I lost over 40lbs. I have been bad since the holidays lol. I am Diabetic and got off 4 insulin shots a day. My boyfriend weighs almost 400lbs but he won't eat like I do. Keep up the good work. Love your videos!!
Love that you are sharing keto recipes! Please do more. I know there a lot of keto creators out there but I am seeing a lot of dessert ideas and not enough easy meals, plus you use ingredients you farm yourself.
One of our favorite meals! We do it with either sausage or kielbasa. I am a pepper person so I do add black pepper and we love crushed red pepper with it too. Sometimes onion and garlic powder. So easy and yummy!!
Anything with cabbage is delish! This meal is a favorite in the rotation.
Hello and Good Morning Kevin, Sarah and subscriber friends. Excited for another LTH Saturday video. Hope everyone is having a great start to their day. Many blessings y'all!
Good morning to you too Jake Dunwell. I hope that your day continues to be blessed as well.
I make this type of dish a lot but during the summer time I also like to add in squash and sometimes potatoes. Please keep sharing these one pot meals!
I would love more of your keto friendly recipes
