Skopelos Greece: More Than Mamma Mia

- @Dean_Trips visits the Greek island Skopelos in the Sporades island chain. Dean and Isabele explore Skopelos seeking out not only the filming locations of the Mamma Mia movie, but discovering the beautiful beaches and other parts of the island. The couple stay in Skopelos town, and wander the streets there before heading out with a rental car for two days to see other parts of the island including the Amarandos Cove, Kastani Beach, Panormos Beach and Milia Beach. Dean and Isabele drive to Glysteri Beach, but find this location not worth spending much time as the restaurant has closed for the season in early September 2023. The pair also make the drive to visit the Ioannis Chapel another filming location and climb the 200 steps up to the top. Unfortunately their timing is during the late morning when many others had arrived as well. All in all a very enjoyable island stay even if the unknown ferry strike caused some scrambling to get back to Skiathos to catch a flight back to Athens. The views from their accommodations in Skopelos are mesmerizing from the Aperatno Galazio room and Big Blue Cafe where daily breakfast is served.
The beauty of the greek islands is really something to behold. I love how they are all a bit different from eachother too.
Yes, so much beauty each in their own way.
Thank you fór sharing with us! ❤

Thank you 🙏😊
Where did you stay on the island?
We stayed in Skopelos town at a place called: Aperanto Galazio
About how many parking spaces were available near the “Mamma Mia church”?
I’m not exactly sure but if I can remember correctly, I believe there is a small parking lot for about 20-30 cars then the other places to park is on the side of the road which can accommodate quite a few cars, but then one has to walk a bit more.
Excellent and enjoyable video - good preparation for our visit in July. One question - your underwater video - did you have a cover for your phone or not?
HI James, Thanks for the message. I use a GoPro Hero 11 camera for underwater video. Have a great trip!!!
I’ve heard this island also has a shipwreck you can explore that sounds fun would love to do that but I can’t swim so can’t enjoy diving
Sounds like a good time to learn a new skill 🙂
Was you able to buy the snorkel and googles on the island? I’m unsure if to take some with me
I brought my own as I don't like to take the chance with how new equipment of rental equipment will fit. A mask and snorkel usually packs pretty well, the fins I usually leave at home.
@@Dean_Trips that’s understandable Thankyou for the reply
Thanks for the video.Maybe I missed it...where was your accomodation?
Thank you- we stayed in Skopelos town up on the hill with a nice view to the harbor.
Thank you,so the exact name is a secret😊
@@irenmarianncseh4593 I looked at my booking records and didn't see the name, so have to do a little more research....☺
Found it! Aperanto Galazio
Did you rent a car?
We rented a car from a local company arranged through our accommodations for two of the days. The cost was around $30 US per day.
Too many tourists😢
