- Welcome to NAXOS! We took a 6 hour Ferry from Athens to the beautiful island of NAXOS! 🇬🇷 The wind was so bad, the cyclades are actually known to be pretty windy at times and during our visit there was actually a storm brewing, hence the super loud wind throughout and the questionable weather! Saying that, we did actually manage to explore as much as we could, being October some of the beach restaurants had started to close so we were lucky to visit when we did!

That local church brings coolness to the old beauty of the place. And those cool beaches and absolutely beautiful sunsets really make this island one of the most attractive in Greece.

My father was born in Naxos in 1914, my mom’s family came to the US from Sparta. I do plan on visiting both someday. Beautiful scenery. I would have liked your video to also include something about the people of Naxos. That’s important to visitors too.

We have been going to Naxos for quite a few years and whilst there go into KITRON bar every morning for cappuccino which come with complimentary lemon cake and biscuits. Beautiful island.

I visited Naxos in September along with Ios and Paros. Of the three Naxos was my favourite, not that the other two were bad in any way. I didn't want to leave.

Hello Guys, Good Morning. You brought tears to my eyes. That car you hired, Fiat 500. My Dad had a car like that, Blue in colour. He had it for 10 years. Sold it to his friend that was a mechanic. You won't believe. It is still running today. The video was great. Thank you.

Naxos is very nice island indeed. And the food there is local real food, not commercial supermarket production. I live nextdoor, Paros. Better to visit late spring (i.e. may) were prices are low, daylight is longer, not so crowded and temperature is warm to swim. Also it worth to come by plane, prices are similar to ship and the voyage is only 20 mins from Athens. Thanks for your efforts👍

You're right - The Cedar Cafe is the best! The coolest, most chilled out bar-restaurant in Naxos! Great music, fantastic food and the loveliest people - I love it!

Secretly hoping you two will make it to the biggest Greece island, Crete. They’re called Creatan, and have their own cuisine. Old Town, Chania is absolutely the place to be. Ha, well, now I’m thinking it should remain undiscovered by popular bloggers 😂

One of the best videos on the Greek Islands.. 1) the narrow streets were for the purpose of defence against the invasions of pirates coming mostly from Libya. Heavy stones raining down on the heads of the enemy. 2) Drinking beer from the bottle considered very bad manners.. One reason foreigners are "uncivilised " by the Greek old timers.

I have noticed more and more British people, especially from the south, speaking American English rather than British English. Usually it's in vocabulary but not so much in pronunciation.
However, I noticed you imitating the (really annoying) American habit of pronouncing -o- in foreign place names to rhyme with 'go' rather than 'got'. British people don't normally do this. Americans say 'Naxows', 'Mowstar' and 'Dubrowvnik'. Brits say 'Naxos', 'Mostar' and 'Dubrovnik'. Maybe you've been influenced by watching too many American travellers' videos.
We’re not imitating American lol we just have a “common” English accent.

The best sunset spot is actually a little bit further away, instead of going to Portara, continue and you will have the sunset right behind Portara. I took my most beautiful sunset picture on that exact spot!
