I just finished watching it today!! And I had this video saved to a playlist already, I'm just collecting book recs and adding it to my list and I LOVE that movie, it makes me wanna get back into witchcraft ❤
I couldn’t be happier that you’re back to bless us with more inspiring & wholesome content! It’s still very cold where I live and I need to get excited for spring! ❤️🌷
Hi, I never write these comments for fear of them never even been seen...but who cares! I’m just a girl in a cafe writing to a girl who shares her joy on the internet. I just wanted to say I love your work so much. I’ve been having a hard time and I woke up and went to my favorite cafe, got a waffle and a rose latte then settled in and found you posted a new video. It was such a joy to watch and really really helped me. You’ve taught me how to romanticize my life again and I found myself crying to your spring book reviews in said cafe. I hope you know how very special you are and your light in the world. Hope you are feeling better and happy spring friend. 💛
@@DarlingDesi Well.. 1. the notification itself actually IS a bell and 2. I'm basically convinced you're my best friend every time I watch your videos. 😄 That's how my heart feels about you anyway... 🥰😘
I’ve never commented on anyones youtube video before but after watching your videos I felt inspired and cleaned up and redecorated my house to have the same sweet cottage core/ light academia style and when my boyfriend got home he told me he loved it and wanted to continue it in other rooms I hadn’t touched. Thank you for being so inspiring 🤍
The Whinnie The Pooh books are absolutely perfect for spring and summer. They’re the cosiest stories with the quaintest illustrations! I think you’d absolutely adore them Desi!
I remember cooking through the Anne of Green Gables cookbook as a college student, so cozy and happy! Thanks for all the interesting new recommendations and reminders about the classics,!
I just finished On the Cliffs of Foxglove Manor and I loved it. Dark and very atmospheric with a little ghost haunting. It also goes back and forth from 1885 to present day. Loved it.
Just put tons of these on my TBR! Thank you for the recommendations. I know your book-based videos may not get as much traffic as your other videos but they are so helpful to us bookworms! Also, I love how you try to consume content and perform activities based on the season. Modern society doesn't allow us to stay as in touch with nature as our ancestors but you've found a way to cherish each season :) Hope you have a lovely week!
Jude Deveraux writes a series of cottage core books. They have romance and a little bit of mystery. The beginning of the series starts off with a book titled “lavender morning“. It’s so so so so good. SO good
I've recently started the Nevermoor series from Jessica Townsend and I already love it! It's a children's story about a young girl called Morrigan Crow, it's set in a magical city, there are mysteries, superpowers, talking animals, hilarious characters - I don't know if people will understand, but reading it just feels colorful. Also the Editions from my local library have super cute covers that pull you in before you open the book.
It's been a bad day. I ate something my stomach didn't like. A migraine is threatening all day. Nothing went right. I feel stupid and exhausted. And the cats got out. At night! And none are exactly white... O.o" But then notifications say you posted a video...and it's both cottagecore and books and spring! ... ... .... .. I'm walking on sunshine! WhooOoooh! :D
If you’ve never seen the “Barbie and the Tale of Peter Rabbit” doll you absolutely should search it up! Your whole look and spring aesthetic match the doll so well!
Highly recommend Susan Branch! Her books Fairy Tale Girl, Isle of Dreams, and Enchantment are SO cozy and sweet. I read them over and over! Her handwriting and illustrations all throughout are so charming. And her story is great too!!
Oh my gosh, me too! Hers are the only books I re-read over and over. They always make me feel so positive-like Desi’s videos. :) I know Susan Branch has a huge following, but I don’t know anyone else who loves her work and I’ve been unsuccessful getting anyone else hooked on her, haha.
As a fellow avid book collector, I have to ask: what percentage, roughly, do you keep of all your book purchases? And how do you decide what to keep and what to part with? I need to undertake a serious cleaning out this spring, and any tips would be much appreciated! It's so hard to let go of any of them, but I know I have to!
I know I am not Desi, but I am wondering why there is a need to let some of them go? To me seeing my whole collection gives me so much joy. I want to build an never ending library of my own through out my life. If you just feel pain from letting go of your books, then I would keep them ✨
If it brings you joy, keep it. If it doesn't, pass it on to someone else. You just have to figure out what adds to your life and what stresses you out. One way I do this is by noticing how much attention I give the book when I'm reorganizing (or considering it). If it's a book that I want to carefully arrange, show off the cover, put a lot of thought into what other books it should go with - that's a keeper - even if it's just because of the cover. If it's something I'll just throw anywhere, chances are good I don't care that much about it and it's time to let another reader who may love it get it.
I'm not sure if you've ever read Matilda, but it's one of my go to spring time, feel good books. And it's such a quick read when you just want to smile :)
Hi Desi!! I just wanted to share that I'm currently living with depression and that everytime I feel like I don't have enough air to breath, your videos bring me peace!! You, and your videos are really helping me in these hard times, thank you so much for everything!! You are a special human being 🥰🥰
Loved this video and must reads. I’m staying in the Lake District this weekend in Bowness, Windermere. ... wish you were with me. Hilltop is very near and such a wonderfully magical house where you expect Peter and his furry friends to appear at any moment. Much love xx
I’ve read a few books that you’ve recommended. As a reader, I appreciate these videos! 😁 Kate Morton’s “the secret keeper” was the first book to get me back into reading since high school. Truthfully, I judged the book by the pretty cover, and hoped it’d be a good one. To my surprise, it became one of my favorites! It was the perfect book to pick up after 6 years of not reading to rope me back in. I love that her books take place in the English countryside. The forgotten garden and the house at riverton by Kate Morton are also a few favorites 💕☺️
I have just come across your channel and I love your content and enthusiasm for Cottagecore and the English countryside. I love in the North of England, Northumberland.. we have some of the best countryside.. but one of my favourite places to visit is The Lake District.. Cumbria. It's about an hour an half drive for me from Northumberland.. It's a beautiful part of England. Yorkshire is wonderful too.. You would love England. ❤
Watching this video looks to be the perfect respite activity for me right now. As you know, I’m currently recovering from a bone marrow transplant in the hospital and I need calming videos like this one to help me find some balance in all the challenges I’m going through. Thanks Desi. You always deliver!
I love all of your spring content. It's hard to believe that I've been following your channel for about a year now. My dad passed away at the beginning of last year and your videos were definitely a bright spot for me during that time. Thank you Desi ❤️
so timely - I’ve had the biggest book hangover from The Last Garden In England by Julia Kelly and just needed to tell somebody. 4 women’s perspectives over several generations over the same garden. Not my usual but I loved it 🥰 thanks for more springy finds!!!
Ah, a lovely mix of books that I’ve read, books that are on my wish list and titles i’ve never heard about that I want to read now! I cannot wait to watch all tour spring inspired videos. Washing you all the best!

I haven’t had the chance to watch yet but my week started off absolutely awful, you have no idea how happy I was to see a new video 😭😭😭 Thank you as always for your wholesome content
You bring so much good into this world just by being you! Thank you, Desi, for sharing your life with us. The way you romanticize life has inspired me to let go of hustle culture and romanticize my life and just look for the joy in life. It is such a wholesome way to live.
Thank you for your magical videos, it's a very tough time for me and my mental health but your gentle soul and your relaxing videos keep me less anxious and help me to find good things in bad times
Lovely to waken on a Monday morning to all these fabulous books. Thank you. Makes me want to stay in bed nestled under covers, a cup of warm tea steaming by my side. And then I open one of these cozy books based in the English countryside, and the morning is spent. What a beautiful dream. Have a lovely day Desi. Hope you will feel better and better as Spring arrives. 🌸

That little green copy of Peter Rabbit is the exact one I had as a child! Also, if you want more Beatrix Potter, I recently read “Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life” by Marta McDowell! It’s a biography of Beatrix Potter but told through how she had her garden throughout her life. It has many of her drawings that weren’t in her books. I think you would really like to flip through it! I’ll definitely be checking out the cottage tales of Beatrix potter. Loved this video! 🥰
Yay new books! I read What the Wind Knows after you recommended it and I loved it so much, so I'm definitely going to check out anything else you pick up. ☺
Omg!! Thanks for posting!!! I can’t wait to watch this later. Just yesterday I started to curate a spring tbr and playlist. I found that creating these lists created much needed joy for me. I’m glad you posted this video because it’s just what I needed! Thanks for always putting hard work. It always pays off. I’m hoping your health goes back to normal soon!! I love you!!
When I watch your videos they make me cry! Everything resonates with me so well and reminds me of childhood 🥺 thank you for always reminding me to stay true to myself, inspiring me and creating videos that feel like a warm hug. 👒🧚🏻♀️🍰
I loved this video I’m actually going to my local book shop to see if I could get some of those books Love your videos so much and hope your feeling better now ♥️ Can’t wait for more future videos
Another recommendation: "Greenwillow" by B.J.Chute is THE cottage core book. Hard to get but I think it's on audible :) Found it in an antic store an reread it three times already (and I usually read books only once) because you can SMELL the cakes baking while reading, the storytelling and the story itself feels like a hug
Oh my goodness, I remember reading that exact same edition of Lark Rise to Candleford years ago, having picked it up from my local library. What a lovely memory you just gave me when I 'spotted' that spotted cover!
Thank you so much for sharing your Amazon storefront because thanks to you this year I really fell in love with all the spooky, mystery, autumnal books you shared in one of your previous videos and now I come to you for my book recommendations!! :)
I live in a very historic area in New England, and the little Beatrix Potter books are one of my earliest memories - very sensory, of walking out of a tiny musty smelling library with the books in my hand, full of excitement and happiness.
“Middlemarch” is wonderful! I taught it in class today! What a beautiful edition you’ve purchased!! I hope you like it! And these Jane Austen editions are wonderful!! 💕
This is perfect! I cannot wait to read these books. These look sooo good! Thank you so much!! **Those pocket editions are my favorite! I am collecting all of the books in that edition. They are so beautiful. I love collecting beautifully covered books. I am so glad that I found someone else who does that too!

Glad you’re back! Missed you. I just got myself The Tale of Holly How! My mom is from England and she read Beatrix Potter to me growing up. The illustrations give me such cozy vibes. Thanks for the recommendation!
What a wonderful haul! I want to recommend the new cloth bind up by Penguin of Sanditon by Jane Austen, which also includes Lady Susan and other works! 😁
Desi, I hope you are doing well! I love your videos. I watch them to get motivation when I have a lot of anxiety. They remind me to do what I need to be happy. I’d love a spring refresh video 💕 Hope you feel better.
I just got my copy of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady for my birthday! I kept stealing my mum's copy because the illustrations are so so beautiful
Ohh my God, I have just travelled milestones into the best of times in 24 minutes with you Desi. I always admire your videos which seem eternally to shine.
The book Marigolds for malice is actually the third in a series by Bailey Cattrell the first book is Daisies for innocence and might I say it’s a great book to get you in a springtime/summertime mood (I hope this helped!)🌸🧚♀️❤️
A recommendation for your summer reading pleasure: 'Swallows and Amazons' by Arthur Ransome. Four children on holiday in the Lake District in the north of England sail and camp and run into fierce pirate sisters. It's set in August 1929 and it's a classic summer adventure.
Thank you for this really heart-warming content and book recommendations. As someone who really struggles with emotional stress and mental exhaustion, I loved this occasion to breathe and calm. I work as a volunteer at a train station in Cracow, Poland, and after helping Ukrainians, seeing all those miserable people, and still having to mind my own stuff, including classes and assignments I will gladly escape to those charming worlds...
I am so glad your back Desi! 🤗🌻Praying for your recovery and inner peace. You deserve serenity and we got your back! Thank you for this aesthetically pleasing content(every singe time)! 💚💐 Praying for everyone's safety and happiness 🌹🥰Sending virtual hugs.
I always get so excited when you make a new video! Your channel is just so magical and uplifting. I just ordered the first book in the enchanted garden mystery series because of this video. I can’t wait to get all cozy and start it!
this video brought me so much joy and I’m so excited to check some of these out! the last quote made me tear up and was exactly what I needed to hear 💕
Welcome back sweet friend. It was so great to see you today. Your presence warms my heart and brings me such joy. I loved your book recommendations and are so happy that you are giving props to the cozy genre. I've been reading cozies for over 20 years, and they are my favorite genre. I have a few recommendations that I think you will love. The Secret Book and Scone Society Series by Ellery Adams (book themed very cozy) The Book Retreat Series by Ellery Adams (book themed/Jane Austin adjacent) One Treasured Summer by Carmen Hopkins (floral/fauna/cozy adventure) Happy Reading! I am looking forward to the beauty of spring and all of the inspiration that comes from the blessings of nature. Have a wonderful week!
Aaah we love a new video full of book recommendations 💕💞 thank you so so much Desi ☺️ i hope you and your family are doing better, sending you some warm hugs !
Oh Desi, I am just delighted to see your smiling face again! Especially with new excitement for your spring books! I adore you and your channel and I am so thankful for your cottagecore cozies😘🌱🌷🐛🦔
This is exactly what I have been waiting for... I am itching to dive into so new and old favorite books this spring. Thank you so much for so much fantastic inspiration. I wanted to ask where are your favorite places to shop for books on line other than Amazon?
These were exactly the kind of books I was looking for this spring, also I just got the same copy of the tenant of wildfell hall and can't wait to start reading it!🌻💚
You will love the Shady Hollow mystery! Just finished reading and it’s so fun! Also finished reading Unearthing The Secret Garden. Excellent! Marta McDowell wrote similarly styled books about Emily Dickinson AND, hold the phone, Beatrix Potter, and each of their respective gardens. Both wonderful reads! She also wrote about Laura Ingalls Wilder which I’ve yet to read but just know it must be good too! McDowell provides such good insights on these writer’s personal lives and what inspired their books! Happy Spring reading!
What perfect timing! I will be finishing a book today and had been wondering what to read next. You have given me so many wonderful ideas! I hope you are feeling so much better. You look like your usual beautiful, healthy self. I hope you are feeling the same.
OmG I'm so early!! Thank you for uploading a video even though you're not feeling well, you are an inspiration to me ever since these past months that I've discovered your channel. I am soo lucky to discover this channel that i've always been longing for. I hope you get well soon, we are praying for you.!

You bring so much good into this world just by being you! Thank you, Desi, for sharing your life with us. The way you romanticize life has inspired me to let go of hustle culture and romanticize my life and just look for the joy in life. It is such a wholesome way to live.
Anne of Green Gables Devotional! It's amazing!
I just found your channel recently and I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your relaxing videos. A port in the storm 🌊 thank you Desi!

Thanks for all the book recommendations, your enthusiasm and joy is so refreshing, happy spring!
Ohhh yes I love creating reading lists and playlists too! It’s so satisfying but also so relaxing and calming ☺️
Thank you for this! I took notes and will be reading some of these. ❤️. Glad to see you’re feeling better 💕
When I watch your videos they make me cry! Everything resonates with me so well and reminds me of childhood 🥺 thank you for always reminding me to stay true to myself, inspiring me and creating videos that feel like a warm hug. 👒🧚🏻♀️🍰
I just got a mug from Marshall's that has Thumper on it. It reminded me of you! So cottagecore style! 💖
Good thing I just made my tea before the notification!
I loved this video
I’m actually going to my local book shop to see if I could get some of those books
Love your videos so much and hope your feeling better now ♥️
Can’t wait for more future videos
Another recommendation: "Greenwillow" by B.J.Chute is THE cottage core book. Hard to get but I think it's on audible :) Found it in an antic store an reread it three times already (and I usually read books only once) because you can SMELL the cakes baking while reading, the storytelling and the story itself feels like a hug
You should open a bookstore! Seriously. I would shop there every week!
Yes for the shoutout to cozy mysteries! Legitimately one of my favorite genres and I feel like no one ever talks about reading them.❤️
I live in a very historic area in New England, and the little Beatrix Potter books are one of my earliest memories - very sensory, of walking out of a tiny musty smelling library with the books in my hand, full of excitement and happiness.
Beautiful recommendations. The Susan Wittig Albert books were a big part of my and my kids' lives and we all appreciated them so much. Lovely, lovely books.

I just got my copy of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady for my birthday! I kept stealing my mum's copy because the illustrations are so so beautiful
comfort level of watching this video: π ❣
Omg! Lark Rise to Candleford looks SO dreamy!
Thank you so much for this video Desi! You got so many amazing books and I wish you lots of fun while reading them🥰💕
A recommendation for your summer reading pleasure: 'Swallows and Amazons' by Arthur Ransome. Four children on holiday in the Lake District in the north of England sail and camp and run into fierce pirate sisters. It's set in August 1929 and it's a classic summer adventure.
I totally, totally second this! I love the Swallows and Amazons - a whole series of 12 books.
THAT MUG at the beginning of the video is so precious!!! Lovely video as always
i've been waiting for this watching last year's one. Love you 🤍🌷
I am so glad your back Desi! 🤗🌻Praying for your recovery and inner peace. You deserve serenity and we got your back! Thank you for this aesthetically pleasing content(every singe time)! 💚💐

The Secret Book and Scone Society Series by Ellery Adams (book themed very cozy)
The Book Retreat Series by Ellery Adams (book themed/Jane Austin adjacent)
One Treasured Summer by Carmen Hopkins (floral/fauna/cozy adventure)

Your videos are always such a joy to watch! I love these book recommendations.
Loved this, I’m so excited for spring and really can’t wait to welcome in the season with some of these perfect cottagecore books 💜
What perfect timing! I will be finishing a book today and had been wondering what to read next. You have given me so many wonderful ideas! I hope you are feeling so much better. You look like your usual beautiful, healthy self. I hope you are feeling the same.
