Yup :D the first time i played DR2C i was thinking it was a easy game but then i got killed 20 times in a row and trained a lot to beat the game.... i hope this new game be hard as death road
Yeah dr2c was a great time killer, alas I went super sweaty try hard and platted it in a month. But great games are super rare to find. That's why I'm gonna love this one too but as a slow play this time.
death road to canada has a kick ass soundtrack, great pixel art, and the most stupid of random encounters, one moment you find Jason on the side road, the second you're inside a haunted mansion with ghosts that you can even kiss, deals with the devil, deals with death, and of course, NO, YOU COOL IT!
31:36 its actually really interesting. essentially, to stabilize the milk market, the US buys excess milk. since milk goes bad, the us turns it into cheese. the cheese then gets destributed as part of welfare. the problem is that the government has so much cheese that it could simultaneously crash the cheese market, so they store most of it in giant cheese caves. i think the program has been discontinued because farmers got better at regulating milk production, but the cheese still remains.
This reminds me of how the government slaughtered 16,000,000 pigs in 1933. They did not process the meat or feed any of the starving (it was the great depression) but instead they only slaughtered the pigs to raise the price of ham. Because that's good for the people right? Wasting food so it's less plentiful in order to raise the price. Around that time the government also paid farmers to plow over 10 million acres of cotton - that's how you run an economy! Don't allow for cheap clothing! You must raise the price of goods by paying people to destroy them in order to raise the price...
CVS, rather fascinatingly, is the proper name of the chain. It was formerly known at Consumer Value Stores, shortened to CVS, but at some point it seems they decided to operate solely under the acronym CVS, and thus it technically is no longer an acronym.
Love these types of videos, casual longform gameplay, would be happy if you do this sort of thing to this channel more. Love the vods too but sometimes the extra fluff of streaming gets in the way (donation pop ups, chat interaction when we can't see chat)
I like this sort of video from you. Where its just you playing the game and making your own commentary. More enjoyable as a youtube-viewer, compared to seeing you play a game and reacting to Twitch chat's reactions. Regardless though, I like your content as a whole, thanks for doing what you do.
Government cheese comes from Land O lake. it has a really long shelf life and taste like American and velveeta cheese. also CVS stands for Consumer Value Store
I paused this video after a few minutes, went and played it, and quite enjoyed it. Its basically the zombie game Ive been wanting to make for a while, I'm glad someone did it first. Mine would not have been as good :P Good find.
I think the main reason why this game isn't doing so hot is because people who buy it want to play it with their friends. With the co-op being very limiting many people who only want to play games with their friends won't want this and would feel betrayed on "false advertising". From what I can tell, the game itself is pretty fleshed out compared to some other games. It does take a lot of knowledge, as you will get with each run, to get far in this rogue like unfair game. Maybe the Devs did wanted this game to be this hard, thinking having co-op for story mode would have made it too easy and ruin the overall experience. But from what I have seen on this video, it does look worth playing and the price isn't too high for what it offers, reply-ability.
39:10 That Goblin Commander reference surprised me. I played it a lot with a friend years and years ago and just yesterday remembered it out of nowhere without knowing the name of the game. Literally thought to myself "How will I ever find this obscure game I played years ago without knowing the name?"

After watching 10m of this it made it to my wish list. I recommend Soulash, it's like an old ascii style retro game. It's very mean, and I love it. I guess it is a new ascii game.
Watching streams is the most unsatisfactory form of human contact. You listen to these people talk for hours and hours, learn a lot about them, you begin to enjoy their company, to root for them, some sort of attachment forms... And then there's the abrupt realisation you're just a digit in "views" counter and you're left feeling like a deranged stalker fanboy.
People often confuse "Open World" and "Sandbox" way to much. Open world is just that. An open world. HZD, MC, Ect, games where you explore a world around freely. There are goals and limitations that may impede progress, but you are free to explore. SANDBOX on the other hand, is a game what sets no limits, no goals, no baracades, nothing. You do anything and everything at your pace. Minecraft is a perfect example of "Open world Sandbox" as it perfectly combines the two, while HZD is a story driven Open world. This game does have my interest and having an open environment to explore (and horribly die in) is fantastic
Didn't know you upload this sort of video to this channel. I thought it's vod exclusive only. Would love to see this type of video to be uploaded to you main channel tbh. Just casual gameplay, with no particular theme, alongside your commentary, and a little bit of edit here and there. Personally prefer that than watching a twitch archive
If you're looking to play retro games, an everdrive is a great investment - way cheaper than buying individual carts. I decided to revive my Sega Mega Drive a couple of years back - bought an everdrive and now I have *all* the games, on real first gen hardware. It's heaven.
Unfortunately this game lacks the couch coop design of death road to canada. Seems you have to play a specific multiplayer mode here thats not the campaign. A shame, DRtC is one of my couch gaming night mainstays
Realizing they don't have coop on the main game was really disappointing, would have picked it up if I could play the full game with my GF but I'll enjoy it vicariously instead and hop back on DR2C for the coop action
Hell yeah worked a 12hr shift and the transmission on my car took a shit so this a good pick me up. We can afford the repair but we just dont want too lol. Time to lay in bed and ptfo and hope my car does t get towed at my expense. Plus with it being 2022 I have plenty of face masks to use to write a note on saying I'm coming back for this vehicle lol.
I had forgotten that I purchased death road and was looking through my old catalog a couple days ago on my switch, came across it and played it again for a bit. Had not played that game in a looooooong time. It is punishing I don't like it all that much. Actually tho it felt easier this time around to the point where I wondered if they nerfed it a bit.
It seems like the worst possible choice to build a base in the open instead of using at the bare minimum the free wall of the building right next to you
When I was in Primary School, we used to call any cheese that tasted bad "Government Cheese", Government Juice was what we called water from the pipes, and Government Gel (HAir-Gel) was also water, but if you used it on your hair
I refunded the game because the escalation is just too harsh to have any fun imo. You're pressured to progress as quickly as possible or you'll fall behind the curve and get destroyed. I was hoping more for a state of decay kind of experience i guess.
18:35 idiots and/or people who impulsively give feedback are the best, had this one idiot who recommended me increase the base speed of all classes in my game and it worked out!
"The Tens" is fine by me. I mean besides the 00's, we refer to every other decade in a similar fashion. 70's was "The Seventies" 90's was "The Nineties" so 10's should be "The Tens"
