How did you split the case am trying to do mine and it won't budge I,,am trying do my 2nd gear

You’ll need some careful persuasion with a nylon mallet (Amazon). Tap around the case edge and lift the top case until it releases. It’ll be stuck with gasket sealer, just needs releasing.

@mid.bike.crisis thank you i've got a rubber mallet what ive been hitting the engine with and i'm going in from the bottom of the engine,sump pans off gear folks and gear drum ect and i've undone all the bolts i can't see any what ive missed

You won’t get the gears out without splitting the case. The only job you can do without splitting the case is replace or inspect the drum and forks.
