  • Laundry story with mama Amber ❤️ Our washer machine is broken so we had to use the laundromat. It was fun to get out and explore our Harlem, New York City Neighborhood! It's been said that when you step outside in NYC a story hits you in the face. This city does not disappoint. Definitely not boring! #largefamilylife #cleanwithme

    A tip for carrying laundry works for a basket or bag. Use a piece of laundry or a towel to cover the top so everything is tucked in. Helps socks from escaping, lol.

    I loved fluff and fold when I lived in NYC (Harlem, Morningside Heights, and PLG in Brooklyn). Nothing like dropping off a huge bag of dirty clothes, and coming back at the end of the day and picking up a perfectly folded bag of warm clean clothing. It wasn't very much more expensive to have them do it for you, but this was almost ten years ago.

    It's been on my bucket list to visit NYC. I would be in my element with all the hustle, bustle, noise, horns and smells. I'm on the southwest coast of B.C. Canada, 60 miles east of Vancouver B.C. I came across your channel, subbed, and am really enjoying it. I'm a G'ma of 2 girls, ages 11 & 6, and so blessed to have them live within a 10 minute car ride. Thanks for sharing your wonderful family and life with us. God Bless. 💕

    I appreciate you giving an insight into the every day of what you mentioned in this video is your quite unique stage of life at this moment in time. Although, to me (a mama of 6 of similar ages to yours) many things in this video are so relatable - the never ending laundry, the baby boy wandering around happily in his big sister's cardigan, the girls engrossed in cookie making and the sweet messy chaos of big family life. I would watch this any day over a video of a family with a perfectly tidy home with everything in it's place and all things being perfect shades of beige!
    Oh - and did you get your new washer yet? 🙂

    My 22 year old son had to have open heart surgery back in September at Mount Sinai Hospital. He and I flew there from a major suburb of Kansas City. I have been a suburbs gal my whole life. I had never even been in a taxi before arriving there in New York. We got an airbnb in East Harlem, so I could walk to and from the hospital and have a kitchen. The whole experience was an eye opener for sure. I too never felt unsafe walking to and from the hospital. There are so many people around. I always left the hospital by 6:00 p.m. and was safely back at the airbnb in about 10 minutes or so. Once my son was discharged from the hospital he was suppose to walk daily. We had to hang around for 5 days, so we were able to explore the city a little bit. The hospital staff would tease us and say "there's no place like home" and "you aren't in Kansas anymore." It was truly an experience.

    I am the same way about washing clothing carefully and not putting them in the dryer, even with my sons. At a certain age when they are grow8ng fast, I don’t put their pants and shirts in the dryer because they shrink! Our washing machine recently stopped working and I had a weeks worth of laundry from a trip. I was so grateful when it was fixed!

    @TheHappyCaravan
    I’ve read that Helichrysum essential oil works well for varicose and spider veins. If your legs are bad then obviously that’s not a realistic route to take but for smaller areas like on your face or arms or hands just say, perhaps you could try them. The link below shows some other ones to try. Apple cider vinegar massaged into the area is also one item that helps. They say to massage or make compresses. You might already know these things but thought I’d leave a comment. My mom had them in her ankles and my daughter has them quite bad. She had surgery. No fun. But she was very heavy. Since then she’s gone on a lifestyle change. Is losing weight and really doing well. But of course pregnancy is a major cause or can be. So I’m sure that’s been hard on them too. I’m surprised that I don’t have them. I have spider veins here and there but no varicose. And I’ve had six babies. I walked a lot and did leg lifts and things like that when I was having kids. Maybe it helped but basically with many kids we’re on the go all the while so we definitely get enough exercise no matter what. I didn’t drive til I was 29/30 so that’s why I walked everywhere. LoL
    Anyway if you haven’t heard about it then I hope this helps. And if you don’t see it maybe someone else will that needs to know. God bless!! 😊
    Oh but if you want to buy some and save money go to Revive Essential Oils (revive-eo dot com) I spelled out the dot com so it wouldn’t nullify the link I included below.

    Our parents don’t have time for laundry . Laundry comes around every 2 weeks . Collect dirty clothes . U know those days hand wash. Wash it then dry it & iron topical countries .
    They put on the clothes on white sand. Only 5 minutes to dry
    Barber comes around once a month .

    Have you ever heard of Jordan Page? She has a large family and has to do lots of laundry and has put out a great video of how she does laundry for her family. She’s got some great tips in there; one being no longer sorting by lights/darks. Instead by texture of the clothing. It’s very interesting!

    I am new to your journey and have curiously watched about 15 of your videos so far. The laundry, Costco, Trader Joe vids are mildly interesting but what I am super eager to learn about is how the dynamics of your family are developed and play out: show us how sharing, conflict resolution, chores, helping others, school work, self motivation play out. Surely your very intelligent children question everything and yet the vids seem to show that everyone is always in complacent alignment. As parents, you appear to be loving, supportive and non-discipline oriented. If this is the reality, how do you accomplish so much with so many children and so many moving parts?

    I have been watching this channel on and off and always feel something is not quite right. Children are lovely but finding hard to believe they nearly all have the natural ability of being ability of being musically inclined. And it must be annoying for the neighboursThink mum wanted to do music and is pushing her kids. Further more, children of this age shouldn’t be busking on there own in this City and makes me wonder if the parents,particularly mum, is exploiting her own kids. They are going to the laundry, yet again, haven’t folded the laundry from yesterday, which she says is a week behind, and the apartment is a mess so what does mum do with her days because with a family the six she has you would think she would want to stay on top of things.
