- Our family of 12 moved to NYC so the kids could experience the robust opportunities to study classical music that this city offers. 3 of our children attend Juilliard. (One college, two pre-college) and 3 more of our children are auditioning for the program in person next week. In this video I explain the context of our children's experience in the school and then Pearl shows footage from two separate days at Juilliard. (One during the semester and one during finals week.) Also my daughter Naomi (she is 14 and is one of the students attending the pre-college program) gave me some footage she took of the pre-college program. I'm amazed by how the children are all growing so much! Even those that don't attend the school are blessed to take lessons with teachers that are associated with the school. (I show some footage from a couple of Anna''s cello lesson days at Juilliard.). This Journey has been a bit scary for me. But I see how the children have bloomed here and I am truly amazed! I know God will take care of the rest. #largefamilylife #nyc #dayinthelife

This was brilliant. Ten years ago I was in NYC and we went into the Julliard bookshop. That was as far as we got!! Pearl, you are super talented and the viola is such a beautiful instrument with a rich and mature sound. You complement it beautifully. Thank you for taking us with you, for me who was a music teacher, it was super interesting. And thank you to your friends for saying Hi too!

Wow everything is so high tech at Juilliard, being able to reserve practice rooms on a screen and all 🤣 what lovely and talented girls you have! It was fun following them :) I am a violist myself and this really took me back to school days 💕

Amazing, so much walking around from class to class reminds me when I was studying teaching…not music though kindergarten teaching! The discipline from your girls shows how much they enjoy what that are doing. The dorm room is tiny, no wonder Pearl wants to go home as often as she can ❤🥰🇦🇺

Both Pearl and Josiah are wonderful examples to their younger siblings! The little ones get to see and experience first hand, how hard work and dedication can also earn them a spot at a prestigious music college.

Yesterday, I saw a cool T-shirt that read “Here Comes Treble 🎼!” And I thought it would look cute on Moses, but it didn’t come in his size.

What a fun video. Looks like Pearl has some nice friends/ classmates. I would have loved to have been able to stay in one building for all my classes. Some days it wasn't fun trekking all over campus in snow and rain at the University of Kansas. The campus is on a hill, so lots of long steps to climb. Thanks for sharing.

Very interesting! The teacher that request you to put your phones on the piano for that class is very smart! Your daughter is beautiful and such a sweet, sweet spirit. Your daughter did a great job doing this video. Y’all must have very strong legs and body some all the walking in climbing stairs that you do I would not do well in New York.

It was so nice to see a vlog of a day in Julliard with Pearl! I wish I could go there, but I suppose you can't do everything in life. I'm taking flight lessons, apart from violin...one thing at a time... I also hope to start cello this summer. I play in a orchestra too. We have our concert next week. Looking forward to it. It's absolutely awesome! Wish I could play with others more regularly like Pearl does in Julliard.

@@TheHappyCaravan Yeah I joined back after almost a year. I had a finger injury on a saw and lost the top part of my index finger in surgery on my left hand. But thank God I can play, after a lot of determination. When I joined again, I was put as leader of the orchestra, a position that I never had. Feel so blessed and humbled at the same time. And your family inspired me to continue on playing after the accident. I would have probably never played again if it wasn't for your family and for God blessing me! 😊🙏❤🎻🎻

It's so interesting watching this video! I am not a musician, but took music history class this semester at the university and enjoyed learning about music so much! I have a question - how did you teach your kids how to prepare for exams and how not to be stressed out since they have homeschooling? Pearl is all smiley and relaxed and her skin is flawless❤
Thank you! I think tests are always a little nerve wracking. We did take some tests in homeschool too. But also the kids often participated in music competitions which are also really intense because like a test you have to have everything memorized, but it’s also sort of like a spelling bee because you are on stage.

Does Pearl live in the dorms or at home. I saw at one point in video she was in dorm room, but at end of day she went home. She is so amazingly talented.
She has a dorm and stays there often but home is a 24 minute subway ride away so she comes home sometimes too.
