Back in Storybrooke, Killian discovered he was the dark one, and in minutes he blamed Emma and became a completely jerk. The good point of the show should have Killian dead for good after a epic battle with Emma: dark vs dark, and a final redemption. However, they continued, and the result was Robin been killed and Regina alone and suffering again. I loved the first part of this season. But I hated the Hades' arc after.

Rumple love for his son or Belle is what maintained his humanity. Therefore Love is the answer. By itself, the power of the first dark one became the way it was because the person wielding that power killed out of hate. She did not listen to Merlin and thus corrupted the power. This is very interesting. It had layers and depth to the franchise. Thank you for your answer. I felt it was lame Emma did not look creepy but your explanation is great and totally make sense.
Maybe because she also didn't kill anyone. Nimue turned green after killing the guy who destroyed her village and that's how the dark one was born. And all the other Dark ones also killed someone in order to take their power.

there were only curses in season 1,3,5 and 7. Not much tbh. Plus the dark curse is a major part of the series, so why do u hate it so much
