Toddler with Down Syndrome Overlooked for Modeling Gig Gets OshKosh B’gosh Ad

- A baby with Down syndrome is set to be one of the newest faces in OshKosh B'gosh's ads, but it almost didn't happen. 18-month-old Asher Nash's mom, Meagan, submitted his photos to talent agencies. When she wasn't getting calls back, she followed up with one agency that told her his photos weren't being submitted for jobs because companies weren't specifically seeking children with special needs. She believes Asher, and all children, should be included regardless of any disability. #InsideEdition
He's adorable!! I can't believe they weren't going to let him model. He is gorgeous and kids like him don't get opportunities like this so he is so lucky
He’s so cute!
Inside Edition really phrased this wrong. She wasn't saying that he should be accepted because he has Down Syndrome, she was saying that companies shouldn't exclude special needs children when looking for models. The only time companies would take his photo was if they specifically asked for a special needs child. Her goal was that special needs children shouldn't get a separate pile. They should be included with the rest of the kids. NOT that her son should be a model.
To use comparison, this would be like a company back in the day not submitting children of colour because the company didn't request children of colour. Actually, now that I think about it, this still happens.
The title seems fine to me.
Josie Alyvia same my older brother who's 22 has Down syndrome and if they turned him down just because a of his syndrome I would cry cause just because they may get more I'll then us or have a extra chromosome doesn't mean there any different as my mum says "His extra chromosome makes him extra cute "

Well said & thank you. It's nice to see someone with a soul in the comment section. 😊
Josie Alyvia no
exactly!! I'm so glad you said that. no better way to have said it. I think also a lot of times people take things too literally and seriously so they get confused which ultimately leaves them but hurt.
omg! he is so adorable❤!!!!👑😛😍😘
He is!!
Emily Benitez I just wanna pinch his checks 😄😄
Emily Benitez www.strawpoll.me/11548845 VOTE FOR KEN BONE!!
He truly is.. ^^ People like us should be the ones to motivate and atleast and provide encouragement to other people who needs to be cared in a more special manner.. :')
I agree. I wish that he was treated right though
Everyone who is attacking this sweet little guy for having a mom who cared enough to push for his right to try, shame on you....
I’m not a baby person but OMG is he cute! He’s way cuter than most babies I’ve ever seen, special needs or not! I love his expressive facial expressions, you can almost feel his emotions through them!
They were guilted into this.
Saving/me ikr!!!!
Saving/me 100th. Leik
Saving/me They wasn't she only shared his story and because it became so popular that they where proably like "OMG IF WE USE THERE PHOTOS PEOPLE WILL NOTICE OUR BRAND!"
+SuperGirlySarah/ UA-cam Just the whole thing is wrong.
Saving/me hey, but if worked. And they shouldn't OF overlooked him because of his disability
This little kiddo is beyond adorable! What a blessing
so freakin cute!!!! he is adorable
"OSH kosh begosh"? Oh Ma Gosh!
LMAO
I'm a career pediatric nurse, and little Asher is adorable! Every child is valid. Every single one. God bless.
…
If I was the owner of OshGosh whatever it was and I wasn't looking for kids with disabilities I'd still take him he's so cute 😍😍
All children matter but not all children should be treated equally...? 🤔
Adi Navarro it's not even that. She forced it onto them.
Brett well said
Adi Navarro a
R u joking me all children should be treated equally seriously
No she didn't stop being a whiner.
Good job for protecting your child, and giving him the opportunity to fly like other children. 🥳 that melts my heart
I see not only a beautiful baby but an amazing joy behind this babies smile. Keep up the good work Mom. Oppertunities for work should be equal, and this little boy is equally as beautiful as the other model babies I've seen in all my days.
So now they clearly felt bad enough because of everyone on the internet shamed them and made them feel guilty.
So it's a pity model casting.
CharlieTheUnicorn and if it is pity modeling? What difference at this point does it make? He’s beautiful and perfect for this job
CharlieTheUnicorn i love you picture
Maleficent Shadows Because you shouldn’t strive for pity. Go for someone/something that wants you for you, but because they feel bad.
How’s do you know it’s pity model casting? The company saw his pictures and liked him that’s it. Judging by your profile picture, your young. Don’t be jealous. I don’t think you parents would be happy with how your acting online. Be careful, you never know who’ll tell them so be quiet.
CharlieTheUnicorn pretty much
I mean, all children wear clothes....
He is obviously photogenic and is calm and collected in front of the camera! - What more could you ask for in a child model?
This woman complained and shamed a company so her kid could have a photoshoot. WOW, this is isnt just ur normal kind of petty, this is ADVANCED petty.
They should have at least looked at his pictures. If they see them and don't think it would represent their line the way that they wish, it's their choice and their money. But the kid is photogenic and has a unique face and I don't think he should be written off by default. But the mom should also chill out. It's not like the kid cares, so she's obviously in this for her own gain which bothers me the most
Awwww my heart can’t take the cuteness! 😭❤️
He's so cute!!!! I CANT EVEN!😩😩😭😭😍😍

Soooo true
AWWW HOW CUTE!!!
Harambe

Look how cute the baby is awe!!! Good job momma sticking up for your baby! Look at that little cute face and personality 🤩
What a beautiful and handsome baby!! SO ADORABLE I WANT TO HUG HIM
Thats disgusting.
Real photo face who loves the camera.. So adorable.
He is so cute it is amazing that he got wht he wanted and had fun doing so
Uhh... what about the *other* kids who didn’t get the role
Do I smell..? Entitlement?
Shayla Wels nah you just smell inside edition phrasing this wrong. The mother didn't complain because he had a fair shot and didn't get picked, she got frustrated because the company overlooked the child specifically because he is special needs.
Well for the company he was the cutest and most suitable baby for the advert. The other kids weren’t right. People with disabilities don’t have ‘ entitlement’.
Idk what that smells like.. BTW I like ur name lol
Listen to the video again
Shayla W hji
I know this photographer who specializes in people with special needs. His name is Rick Guidotti and he even has a company called Positive Exposure. When I first heard of this story mind went to this guy. I've been going to the conference for what I have and he's been there since I can remember.
He’s the cutest Baby I’ve seen in a long time
I agree, but companies pick people who look good and sell their products, they shouldn't pick just because he has special needs an they shouldn't not, pick him because of it, it should come down to the looks.
Omg take a moment and look at that cute face ❤❤❤
awww he's so precious😭😭❤❤❤
He is just so cute 🤗❤️
He is so so so so Cute!!!!!!!❤️❤️
Omg the pics of the baby was soo adorable
The only problem I have with this story is that the mom whined and cried when she didn’t get her way, then got her way.
She’s a bigger baby than her own kid!
melted my heart omgg
People of saying she's a bad mom and stuff like that. They said they weren't looking for people with disabilities! That is rude! Saying they won't hire her kid because she has disabilities
Rosie *he
you do realize that it is not illegal to refuse someone with disabilities if you give them special consideration which means if the company looked at his photos and decided the baby was not the ideal candidate then they do have legal grounds..
Rosie
Can we please stop with the hateful comments? This child was accepted as a model because someone believed in him and he has a lot of potential. The video specifically said that he was rejected because they weren't "specifically looking for children with disabilities." Why should children with disabilities have separate categories? His photos weren't even being looked at by the agencies. There's a difference between turning someone down after a fair analysis and just rejecting them based on a close-minded opinion.
Why does a company specifically need to seek out a child with special disabilities or see the importance of representing them only for an ad about children with disabilities? Just see all children as children, irrespective of their differences and celebrate them as a child.
He is so adorable and cute ❤️
For the people who don't understand: she wasn't mad that he didn't get into it she was mad about that they said that they weren't looking for children with "special needs" that's why
The thumbnail melted my heart xDD the video aswell xD
That first picture sold me, he's just too cute.
Aw! He looks like the happiest child in the world!

So adorable!!!!!!!!
He's so adorable😍
He's the cutest! 💕
Yes, exploit your child's disability for personal gain. Mothering done right. (*sarcasm*)
Do you have a disable child because if you don't shut the hell up, you have no idea about how much more work is involved with being a mother to a disabled child. You have to constantly fight to get any sort of rights for them because of people like you.
Jin Is Lifeu bruh
@@kyliebartz6958 Sorry should all the children and mothers in the world bow down for you? You have a child just like everybody else, we all have our own hardships but don't go around acting like you're the world's most hardworking mother.
He's so cute💖💖
That little boy is so adorable, I'd love to see him in adds, commercials and TV. If he lives the camera, he's perfect.
What a cutie! And he's really photogenic too. 😊
Awwwwwwwww he is just soooooo cute like I can even 😍😍😍😍😍
I think this is the singing baby he couldn't talk but can sing. His family realize music is therapeutic for him.😍

He's so cute 😍
He actually so cute omg 😭
I don't understand what the problem is. They said they aren't looking for kids with Down syndrome. No means no, just because your child has a disability and gets turned down doesn't mean he's being discriminated again.
Awwww so cuuute!
HE IS SOO CUTE !!!
I love how she says Osh Kosh b'gosh
He is such a beautiful child.
Disability privilege!
