I'm a mathematician and I'd like to say Will is 100% right, whenever you say "folding it vertically" it means only the y-axis will be altered, meaning the x-axis will remain the same size. To fold is to alter the disposition of the body in a specific way, so if you say you'll fold it vertically, it means that alteration will take place vertically, in the same way that moving something vertically is to move it across the y-axis while it presumably remains as it was horizontally
You don't have to be a mathematician to have basic induction.

agreed. but its also just pointless to say "fold vertically" or "fold horizontally" when it depends how you position the paper. thats why we'll generally say "fold hamburger style" or "fold hotdog style" because its less confusing.
The fold conversation is so stupid, it depends on what part of the fold we're talking about. Caroline and Sam are talking about the fold LINE and Will is talking about the fold MOVEMENT. Which are two complety separate parts of the fold.

I don’t really like to comment on UA-cam videos because I don’t really think I add anything but I really wanted to say you guys are the best. I discovered this channel about a month ago and maybe because we are around the same age but I just enjoy you guys content. It’s funny, crazy, relatable, and can have its serious moments. It’s not always perfect, which is ok because nothing is, but it always finds a way to be fun. I love Will and Caroline’s friendship, and how funny Sammy is, especially when you guys just start having fun together. I’m really sorry for the long paragraph. Love the show.
