funny that Inarius said that humans are weak when he is literally the reason why they are weak lol XD
Damn, you're right. This makes Inarius even more hipocrytic
Thought the same. He tuned the world stone to siphon power from his children. Lilith wants them to be leagues more powerful than both demons and angels combined.... so why is the main character joining inarius? Momma wants the best for her babies... or have I missed something
@@Trajiun it was explained in novels. Their goal is to rule the Sanctuary, but they differ at methods. And main character joins Inarius because he's more like a lawful evil, and Lilith is chaotic evil... I guess.
I suppose that makes a bit of sense. I didn't know more books were published. That does lend more credibility than big mommy devil just wants her babies to grow big and strong, and papa chicken wing was just a domineering jerk that didn't want his spawn to usurp him
@@Trajiun We haven’t seen the entire game yet. I doubt we’re gonna side with either in the end.
The VA done excellent you can see and hear the sadness in her voice when she finds him dead. And the "I would have saved your place just the same" was really moving. Her voice nearly cracked when she said his name. I thought that a sad but sweet moment.
Would've been better if she called Rathma by his birth name of Linarian.
how did rathma die
@@ankaranirthanagor5786 Inarius
@@drkTmplar422aI agreed with you on this.
What the hell is this line even supposed to mean? "Your place" in a literal sense, as in "your room"? Or "this world"? Or "your place by my side"?
Diablo 4 is literally 2 ex's fighting over the kids.
That's a cookie point!
That’s literally the origin of the lore in the trillogy novel.
To be more accurate, 2 completely abusive ex parents who therapies wont help fighting over kids.
@@tuck295q What's the percent of people who know how to use the word LITERALLY correctly?
so Lilith and Inarius had a kid which was Rathma right ? I thought that's the case but wasn't sure lol
@@dangerfly well I use it incorrectly here since this is fiction.
But cant help it. 😂
Bruh "Lilith Steals Key to Hell" as if she didn't just walk in on HER DEAD SON ON THE GROUND WITH HIS OWN FUCKING STAFF IN HIS CHEST
they reeeealy need to do a full movie like this....their cinematics are amazing and this story sounds good
Been waiting for a Diablo movie since Diablo 3's release.
This is In-game scenes.
Ah, no dude. They tried that once before, and once is all you get. It was a terrible flop.
Worst CG yet as blizz goes forward they get worse. All shittt fb crap now. Nothing good
it would end up like the movie warcraft horrible...
I think Lilith truly loved Rathma. As for Inarius, I think she loved him while their interest is aligned. That or their relationship was more of a business partner but even so she loved her goals more than her father, partner, and even her son.
Inarius: you are weak
GC: i can stop her !!!!
Inarius: hmm... your arrogant confidence has defeated me, now begone, i'm busy staring at this cool painting of myself on the wall !!
Lilith: "And you wonder why did I dump him."
@@raistlin3462 😂
Angels really do the bare minimum and then wonder why the world has gone to shit, despite knowing this entire time that nephilim would tip the balance of the war against demons to whichever side they chose.
That's the problem "whichever side they chose" so in the end, they have no guarrantees that mortals would chose them. So instead of making a effort to win their loyalty, they have preferred to lock away their potentials.
@@efaristi9737 Even more than that. Originally they would rather destroy all of humanity than risk them siding with Hell.
dont mix this with the bible angels being soldiers of god or any kind of protectors of gods creation, man. The heavens and the hells were fighting since the beginning of time in Diablo lore. Sanctuary and humans came about way after, only because an angel and a demon supposedly decided to make a place to go to not have to keep fighting. Then some got busy and humans/nephalim popped up and they realized they were stronger than both. Hell wants to use them to defeat heaven, then get rid of the humans. Heaven just wants to defeat hell, humans should stay out of the way or die.
@@mcdotterson4103 both side want to get rid of human
The existence of nephilim is a forbidden thing to angel
If not because their potential already got seal and the angel worry about the demon, they will be who attack human first
Defeat hell is original goal of heaven but now they have one more thing to do, wipe out human
@@vietcuongnguyenle8530 Demon dont want human to vanish, since they are considered potential army to use against The high Heaven.
Lilith is an example of the "villain who tricked the hero" archetype done RIGHT! There's depth to her - nuance - that makes it believable that Inarius could have trusted her.
Inarius simped, as are you
So basically, Sylvanas? Absolutely flabbergasted.
Inarius wanted to genocide his own children lol.
@@Nalumah which was semi smart, the nephalim could wipe out both the heavens and the hells. Supposedly, he wanted to escape the eternal conflict. Why he somehow thinks he can wipe it all out the nephalim and sanctuary after seeing their power is kind of odd but it gives us another game!
Bullshit.
that cinematic pretty much shows, that there realy is no good and evil, but both the heaven and hell, look down on mortals, just in a different way
Yeap, since the origin of the lore in the Sin War trillogy.
No, the demons are really, really evil. Just that the angels aren't always good.
@@zacharyrosenberg3037 but demons aren't always bad
Angels are Lawful, Demons are Chaotic.
There are many sort of good and many sort of evil as there are many sort of lawful and many sort of Chaotic. Heavens are good...but not always *good* Hell is def very bad (cmon now, evil is literally everything they embody) but that doesnt mean they're irrational.
Im gonna be honest, the way lilith presents herself compared with inarus, i would take her side in that world of diablo in a blink, she didnt even need to try to persuade me
Lilith: "Your sacrifice will not have been in vain"
Baal: "My brothers will not have died in vain"
Been ignoring Diablo since i was a kid for whatever reason but now when i saw what is all about i was pretty blown away, this first part of the game and the cut scenes look phenomenal....
this is a portion of the story lol and its the story for diablo 4! lol diablo has been around since the 90s And the story is far longer then just this! but yea its one of my favorite franchises so enjoy if you jump in

"what we’re looking for and what we need are rarely the same thing." A lot of wisdom right there. 👍🏻
Yet he never followed his own advice.
Despite all the story controversy and truely weird direction the game is heading, the voice acting of Lilith is truly awesome.
perfection
She's just a mother who loved her children and did what was necessary to protect them. You know for a demon she has a pretty big heart so hell yeah I would definitely be on her side.
to me, her love is freaking twisted
Look at her wordings, “stolen from me”, “what you could have become”. Yes there is some sort of care but the care of wanting to make use of them (the Nephalims) to pursue her own agenda and she got hurt not because Rathma is gone but also Rathma, one of the most powerful kid of her is gone.
Thats why he hates both Lilith and Inarius and try his best to sabotage them to ensure a balance in The Sanctuary lol
I'm absolutely sure that if it were an ugly male demon, no one would think this way.
@@albertinhkle5922 top 10 incel moments
1) crying about percieved double standards in a diablo game with demons.
Uh….she slept with her eldest son Uldyssian pretend to be his girlfriend to develop him to be a warrior she wished him to be under her command and ideology.
Im not sure if you are into that for an actual mother…. 😅
If you are into incest between a son and a mother, yah her heart is big alright. xD
Lillith’s voice actress is soooo good, some of the best in any game
yes! she sounds so motherly at one moment, seductive other, and vengeful and deceitful other. Amazing
She also was Lilith in Darksiders.
I’m buying and beating this game not just for me cause I’m a huge Diablo Fan, but for my Grandfather, who passed away last November. He played Diablo 2-3 all the time and I use to watch him play it as a little kid. When I grew of mature enough age to play it, I loved it, ESPECIALLY THE LORE.
Well, he won't be playing anymore lol

Lilith is such a good character design.
Not that far from Kerrigan
Thank H.R.Giger for that
After playing the beta and viewing two Lilith cinematics (one inside the church and one with Rathma), I am of the opinion that Lilith may not be the ultimate villain in Diablo IV.
My intuition suggests that both she and Inarius might be manipulated by the primary antagonist (Diablo or Memphisto) and meet a tragic fate, particularly Lilith.
I noticed a subtle human touch in the way Blizzard portrayed her character. Her facial expression changed upon seeing her son's lifeless body, which made her appear more human. This level of emotional depth hasn't been explored in previous Diablo demon villains.
we beated diablo as is strongest with the prime evil inside him lol
@@christianprevost8455 And beat him twice before that.

All the Necromancers are probably having a seizure right now if they saw their god being defile lol.
Well, Lilith was very respectful of her son.
Good. Inarius will get slaughtered by main character later.
she didnt steal, she just took it... mommy is mad her little boy is dead
Whatever else she may be, she is still a mother, and her son is dead. To say she's pissed is probably a gross understatement.
It was at this moment High Heavens and Burning Hells knew... they screwed up!😶
Literally they screwed up!
Something is weird... Dunno if he's actually dead.
@@ivyr336 I am playing as Necromancer since Diablo II. And you know what? Your feelings can be right. What if Rathma isn't really dead?
@@arcturuslwowski3056 So weird if they off a character that has had this kind of importance to the diablo world in this way. Then he's a necromancer... All about the mastery of life and death. Maybe he found a way to avoid it. Make Lilith think he's dead for some reason.
Shiiiit. Mommy Lilith sure sounds like someone you may want to actually side with.
If you like a mother that disguise herself to be a pretty girl and sleep with you as your lover to motivate you to be better in her image, that would be her….as she did that to her eldest son of the 3 brothers in Sin War.
The eldest brother of Rathma, Uldyssian.

She knew the eldest son is a sissy and pussy so she disguise herself as a beautiful women and have interest in him then start to motivate him to get stronger
This shows Lilith will go to the extreme for her children
For some strange reason I sympathize with Lilith more than with those who fight her...
It's just that Lilith makes sense in that world where Inarius has built an insane cult oppressing humanity.
I think Lilith will get killed by that insane inarius though, and that will lead to the prime evils coming back full force.
@@Bahamut998not by Inarius, but otherwise you're exactly right.
Weird that lilith called her son "Rathma" instead of the original given name "Linarian".. i know this is most likely done to avoid confusion, but still..
I probably would have used his original name. The older fans will thank you, and the younger fans will be curious to look him up.
Character design wise, I find it incredible she's able to hold her head up straight with that shit-ton of horns on her, let alone flying.
I have a feeling Rathma will be back somehow. In this game or maybe in a future Diablo. This seems underwhelming compared to what we expected lol.
Just wish there's a scroll of ressurection and cast on him
He is the daddy of all necromancers, I wouldn't be surprised If he is between a state of death and undeath at the same time
@@MrNoot39449 most likely ya, in whatever state trang-oul is.
I hope so. We don't quite know what is going on with souls of good people. But there are undead nephalims in the diablo franchise.
@@slewone4905 urgh....some good people
Most of them just don't want to lift a finger to deal with the chaos...just rely on the heroes to deal with while they sit at the tavern drink their booze, gamble and even have a great time...while we heroes chopping demons after demons 😂
The storyline presentation so far is EXACTLY what this franchise needed after Diablo 3!! This is what I hoped Diablo 3 would have been 10 years ago. It needed a presentation like this.
I see some people saying generic writing in here...............The writing and dialogue is great in this cutscene. Already, Lilith is getting a good amount of depth and emotion just from this one cutscene. The Lilith cutscene in the Church was also top notch!
I also like that the player character is integrated in the story events. In previous games it always felt like the creepiest stuff had already happened and you just arrived there as a glorified janitor.
Just act 1 and you can feel Lilith alone is a whole new level of Diablo. Take all of my pennies and blood.
you giving your penis to Lilith?
he calls humanity weak but its his fault humans are depowered and mortal to begin with lol
Humans didn't let Diablo run around on three differant occasions, humans did however send him back!
i think hes not talking about physical strength more like how easy for humans to be corrupted
@@dadgamer7766 thats the thing the nephilim both past and present have the will to resist the corruption of demons and angel they all have chosen a path of balance between light and dark since they are the original anu reborn
@@TalrenHawke Thats just not true in the lore though, humans are easily corruptible. aside from the character you play.
He is talking about the nephelim. No their descendants (humans) and technically the main character is a nephelim.
Hopefully we'll get to choose who we side with at the end, Lilith or Inarius.
rathma 😏
How about Trag'oul or Rathma if it turns out he is alive after all? Balance is the key.

What you guys dont have phones?
As a necro player, I gotta say Inarius is going down. How can he do our boy Rathma dirty like that!
Yep. Funny how the humans in Diablo refer to Inarius as father when he wasn’t very fatherly to begin with. At least Lilith cared for her children and tried to help. The only thing that unease’s me about Lilith is that her methods can be rather questionable. However, I would gladly kick Inarius butt to Hell again and then end him.
He didn't kill him...
She only cares because she sees humanity as her toys for the war. She might care for her toys but it doesn't mean she won't break them or toss them aside if she needs to. After all not all humanity are her children, only somewhere. The others were children of other demons and angels who also intermingled and she killed all those other fathers and mothers of humanity.
I think you are 100% right and Inarius will be a Boss.
During the entire Act 1, you see the damage and horror his cult/church has caused in that world.
Inarius : your kind is weak
Me: ah yes, we are so weak so you must seal our kind potential , yes, indeed we are “ weak”
Inarius is doing his best to show heaven as the side with the biggest c***.
Let's not forget previous game had an Angel literally wanting to end humanity too (Malthael).
1:32 That’s what her uncle said in 2 expansion. ironically her uncle baal hated her.
I wouldn’t say steal. She knew where it was. Inarius wanted to steal it.
you have this amazing names like inarius and lilith and rathma, then you have this guy called GC coming out of a salon in nowhere ave.
G Cizzle. His street name.
Ugh.. can't wait.. this is amazing
Hmm so each character will be represented in the cut scenes? Very cool!
this game looks sick. Dug the necro during the beta this weekend. Will buy.
This should be an animated film, no joke!
This new Kerrigan looks really cool
She also stole the key to my heart
Lilith: we do a little trolling 'round here
You have stood against us in battle. That is not something we forgive ... or forget! *Gowron Crazy Eyes*
Lilith words really the embodiment of true devil in this game. Manipulative and convincing. All what she said its true but without boundaries and restriction human will turn into evil at the end.
People judge others by their own standards. All you wrote is that you would turn evil if not for boundaries and restrictions.
It is as weak argument as that: "Morality comes from Religion/God."
@@DarkFox2232 Morality is the essence of religion that created by God. Let me asked you this, if you family are murdered and your mother and sisters or daughters got brutally raped and slowly died in front of your eyes. Which justice you feel satisfy with? A) All the murderers got killed the same manner and worst or b) the incident become a lesson for you to not doing it to other people? Lilith open that both option to you to choose freely of what your heart desire and feel just. Which one you choose?
Yep. I do hate that most of the people who come under Lilith’s influence go insane. Then again, when people have to hold every bit of their dark side in because of religion and stuff, don’t be surprised at the starving monsters unleashed when allowed to indulge. Balance is the key. If they were allowed to be in balance as their natures are (humans in diablo are descendants of the offspring of demons and angels) (nephalem), then they would be good with a little evil on the side, nothing too extreme.
Well, the angel not really better than the devil
Angel only let human survive because their potential got seal
At least lilith will not let human die, but the angel will if they think it is necessary
Lilith vs ZsoltVrg Kiskőrös
Why I think that Lilith's voice actress sounds similar to Sarah Kerrigan from StarCraft II?🤔
Inarius is so dark... I like it.
its the key to the secret Cow level
Mooooooo moo moooo moo. Moo mooooooo moooo mooo
I really want a cinematic showing Inarius vs Rathma.
seems like rathma probably went the obi-wan route when he fought vader. Rathma already knew the outcome.
Rathma knew Inarius was going to kill him. He saw the future and let it happen.
When humanity is caught in their divorced parent's constant fighting...
Well, I think they both (Lilith and Innarius) needs two things.
1. A psychiatrist
2. A Good Divorce Lawyer
And who would win the battle for the child Custody, i wonder ?
Lilith: ...it unlocks our path to the future.

I need to play this game, right now.
do they explain how rathma could still be alive after all this time or i mean live long enough to die just before lilith found him? he's the 1st nephalam generation, he origin of the necromancer?

Inarius is the reason most of humanity doesn't have powers. Only the original one were able to stay strong but every generation they became weaker and weaker until they became regular humans.
Can you zoom the character in this game
Who's Inarius' voice actor? Michael Dorn?
I didn't know Lilith was born in England!
Okay, I'm cautiously excited now, this is already leagues more than I expected my boi Inarius to get. Now if he gets to whoop some ass too, instead of get punked like Imperius, I'm gonna be a happy man.
He's an angel and he's not tyrael, yeah he's going to get punked and he's also going to be a bad guy.
Inarius is a powerful Angel but evil, and he will kill Lilith out of insanity.
But that will lead to dire consequences as the prime evils come back.
Does anyone have a clue who the voice actor of the main character during the cutscene is? I have found the voice actor of the barbarian, however it seems very different during the cutsscene and afterwords with the "Back to Kor Valar" line. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciated it. Sounds a little bit like Liam O'Brien (voice of Illidan) however i am not convinced it is him in fact.

I would side with monmy any day XD
Music theory wise, what’s that humming at the beginning called… maybe I wouldn’t call it humming… vocalizing?
Such an amazing cinematic. I get the feeling Inarius knows more about what is going on than he says. Anyone have ideas about what he was alluding to when he talked about what we need vs what we think we need?
I honestly don’t know. Besides, he seems to caught up with himself to take his own advice.

She didn't exactly steal it. Inarius killed Rathma and she's like "ok... I guess I'll just take this, then."
We dunno if Inarius killed him though, there is a shadowy spot between the two events. Inarius didn't even took the key he was looking for. My guess is that a third character went between the two and killed Rathma
@@engaal2772 I guess that's technically true. I thought we were supposed to believe that Inarius killed him, but maybe I shouldn't assume that.

All in one. How how
im definitely on team lilith
Mommy Lilith!!! Daddy Inarius!!! Stop fighting each other :( :
I just figured that Inarius refused to bless us to prevent the hero from reaching Rathma before him
Nah the timeline doesn't check out. Lilith was already in the city by the time we told Inarius we needed to cross the lake, and Rathma is dead before she ever arrives.
From what I've seen from these cut scenes so far I think I'd rather be working for the demoness than the angel.
So the bald headed dude is not rathma after all from the first trailer
how could there be no playable crusader in the game- wont be playing it
same here
Crusader literally the most boring class in D3 wtf.
Probably DLC material...
My question is is how did inarius get his wings back. I thought meoh tortured him and dewinged him
Does anyone know the theme that plays in Lilith/rathma scene?
Anyone wondered how come Lilith knew the key was in the staff, but Inarius just kills Rathma and didn't search the Staff?
Inarius is probably too caught up in his own shit to think properly. Lilith, who seems to have some genuine care for her son, probably knows him better than Inarius. She is also a bit smarter than Inarius.
I wonder if that is truly Inarius or just a vision he is showing us. I was hoping to have to go to Hell to rescue him and seeing him all chained up with his body in tatters after the countless years of torture.
