The older Disney voice actors were picked in the mindset that they could and would sing. Jeremy Irons put so much into Be Prepared. He blew out his voice. In the "live action", the new Scar VA just talks and it's barely in rhythm.. like why even try then? And the same with Jafar in the new Aladdin, he just talks the Reprise lines.
"How to train your dragon" is my second favorite trilogy, highly HIGHLY recommend watching them on EFAP.
The first 2 are MASTERWORKS. The opening Hiccup Toothless scene in 2 has me soring every time I see it, one of the few movies that can get me feeling so strongly, I don't think any scene in any movie embodies freedom like it does.
The ending of the 3rd one is . . . divisive and I was depressed for a month and a half before I could accept it. I LIKED what they were trying to do (the books do it well) but flubbed the landing so badly I felt RAGE burning in my chest and I'm on medication that suppresses adrenalin so that should NOT be happening at all.
Maybe you could throw in Apocalypto if you want to do a religious movies arc
I think a big reason why it works with Darth Vader is because who would be able to even go up against him to fight him for killing men. Meanwhile all the other times it's used the henchmen can easily just turn on and beat their boss

Its sad because that was literally the case. They made the character before even asking robin. When they went to ask him to be Genie, he was still on an 8 month schedule as a character for the animated movie Ferngully.
Disney didnt like that he wasn't available sooner, and actively went out of their way to make Ferngully fail. Buying advertisement space, bad word of mouth, etc.
Only then after Ferngully bombed did Robin consider the cast for genie. He did just that and left. Which is why he was not present for the Aladin direct to dvd sequel.

Y'all remember Forward Unto Dawn? The live-action mini series? At the end, Chief has a fucking boss fight with a hunter, and it's played so well and so intensely. Really hits the notes you'd expect when Marines (or in this case, cadets) come across such a massive enemy. Then Chief does the Chief things, but not in such a way where it's too casual or easy. It was fucking awesome to watch at the time, and even for such a relatively low-budget series, it does a much better job of small things like that.

I don't think Razorfist said Empire is weakest cause of pacing, just that it has a really slow middle compared to the start and ending. It's been a while since I watched that video though.

About Empire, i way prefer the Endor section with the bike chase over the asteroid belt fucking-around. Everything else about Empire is superior, but quite a lot of it is just that asteroid bullshit; it goes on for a WHILE, and it doesn't make sense that Han and Leia spent just as much time sitting in a cave as Luke spent training with Yoda. Maybe if they spent a month at Bespin or smt, but that's not the vibe the movie gets across.
Say what you will about RotJ; there's a lot more going on visually and the timeframe makes more sense

Also I don’t think the Bible comments on Cain’s sacrifice other than to describe what it was. It’s just that God liked Abel’s better. I guess people assumed Cain was cheap given his subsequent actions. I might be wrong on this, I read East of Eden since I last read this Bible passage.
The reason he was pleased with Able is because his sacrifice was of blood, which in the Bible connects blood with life and when Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden God killed two sheep instead of Adam and Eve. So through the old testament the Jews were to sacrifice a Lamb I think every month or year to have it die in the place of them until Jesus came and became sin so that he could die in all of our places. I know that's a very long answer but that's the reason why he didn't like Cain giving fruit instead of a lamb

In the context of when the story was popularized, I think to most people it was obvious that sacrificing your best lamb was metaphor for "meaningful sacrifice" and sacrificing your vegetables was metaphor for "fucking bullshit"
The point is Cain risked nothing and sacrificed easy one-dimensional food sources, and the laws of nature rewarded low risk with low reward while the Chad Abel gave up whole wool-producing milkable goats to a sky father and proceeded to do nothing but Ws because of his "fuckit, can-do" attitude; and instead of becoming Chad, Cain rage-quit his brotherhood, lied to God, and then became a fish person.

i dont understand people who superchat about anime. they fucking hate it.
they are willing to watch anime, and have in the past, and even considered efaping stuff like one punch man or full metal alchemist or death note. the main issue is that most anime fans insist that anime is some misunderstood masterpiece genre when in actuality most of it is trash (like most of everything tbh, but especially a lot of popular mainstream anime). They tend to focus on western stuff which is most of what both them and their audience watch which is absolutely fair, but i'd love to see people who always glaze anime 24/7 finally get efap to cover something like JJK just for them to rip it apart due to all its flaws lmao

I'm sure to get blowback from this by the same handful of bad actor setting the tone for your EFAP server, but I've been treated so poorly with so petty justifications over such a short period of time I'm certain I'm far from the first to have experienced these circumstances.
I joined the EFAP discord server believing it was a community under the management of EFAP and similarly fair minded ppl. What I walked into was something akin to 4chan. Or moreso, any opinion that deviates in the slighted from the concept of "right" deemed by those in charge or friends of those in charge was to be treated as extremist and to have been spoken in willful offensive.
The vast majority of the server is inhabited by decent sorts you'd find anywhere on thr interner, just looking to discuss whatever the latest movie/tv thing is, but even amongst them there's an atmosphere of "keep your head down, avoid getting into conversations with those ppl when they're on the warpath (the aforementioned mods and friends of mods).
My experience can be summed up: "We won't tell you the topics within media you aren't to discuss but when you do we're going to make you the resident lulcow until such a time as you vacate the server under the hostility of a handful of members backed by a handful of mods ...or we get bored of you and ban you after one final session of cats on mouse".
After my initial bad encounter I was made a topic of ridicule and derision at the blessing of the server admin. Upon asking mods/the admin to step in I was told either I deserve mistreatment or to keep my head down and avoid the channels they congragate most in. Adhering to the latter lead to more organized hostilities toward me as I avoided where they could most freely pick apart anything I said. The most toxic channels ironically (namely animation).
The subject that started the harassment ball rolling was a half joke comment about DEI and bad writing. In general whether I spoke in jest or seriously I was treated as though I was throwing out hard Rs at black ppl (a literal description used to explain why they continued to treat me poorly regardless of subjectmatter)
As I mentioned before, after two or three days they got bored and banned me. Though it's not the fault of any member of EFAP, this has naturally soured my enjoyment of the podcasts/channels and Mauler. As a hail mary of sorts to regain my enjoyment of your content I'm requesting EFAP look into the matter. Assuming they didn't delete my conversations everything is still there capable of review and backs everything I've said here. My handle is "SafetyZoom".

even being as charitable as possible, this just sounds like regular getting clowned on by internet folks, nothing exclusive or unique to the server. the server has lots of disagreements and arguments since it's debating art so you at best just got really unlucky and an easily misinterpreted joke got blown out of proportion
Dude, you literally showed up in the server and tried to shove politics into everything. Then, people got pissed at you because they don't like having politics randomly shoved into their discussions and you had the audacity to claim you were being targeted by "organized bullying." As if that was absurd enough, you have the nerve to call a mod in ON US and then act surprised when the mod points out you're the problem when all you've done is disrupt discussions and attempt to insert politics into discussions at random. Are you kidding me right now? You seriously think you were the victim of targeted harassment? Get a grip.
As for your question of the messages being gone, no, they still exist in all their absurd glory. People still get a laugh out of you calling a moderator a centrist based on armchair assessments you made about him on the spot based on... absolutely nothing.

The true sin however is you taking the EFAP brand and building a server with completely counter principles to the framing of the podcast. It's like walking fans into a blender.

@@epicdotpngnotfound8857 This wasn't debate. This was a new guy coming in talking aligned with values of the show and instantly being mobbed, all spearheaded by a mod and an admin. An admin in particular who let and joined in on the dogpiling for two days straight before finally getting bored with his crafted lulcow and banning him.
I even complied and left certain channels and subjects only to followed to new one.
It's ingrained behavior I was lightly warned about early on but chose to disregard thinking "this is an EFAP how bad can it be?". By the time I realized how bad it is it was too late to change anything.
Rags should really learn to let a joke go
