I hope these tournaments can be played within the software not using any 3rd party sites. Magic Online for example is not a good software but playing all the tournaments completely within the client is a big plus imo
Hope this will be accessible to majority of the community and not a select few. Wouldn't mind just competing. Wouldn't be able to fully commit though with having work and young family.
Lol HS more skilled than Gwent, that's a good joke. Here's a tip: play the best green card every turn. Concede if you draw badly, so you may get to the next coinflip matchup faster
VinniV I'm so sorry to trigger you :) So why all HS pro are good at Gwent ? And you're cancerous AF. Gwent IS not spared by crying kiddo. Otherwise I'll prefer a lot Gwent
I have 2 questions. In which platform are the tournaments played? I suppose it's in PC but I don't know if there's cross play or something. Also even though the game is still in beta, has the Pro ladder started yet? Or will it come out when the game launches?
I reached 4243 mmr the other day.. just 7 points to reach rank 20. Then the announcement came about the new ladder and suddenly everyone became a master at playing Dagon... I'm now at 3994 mmr...
The other top tier decks are Pure Discard Skellige, Control Nilfgaard, Hyperthin Scoia'tael, and tempo Northern Realms. If you can, try those. Discard Skellige often beats Dagon especially if you win the coin flip.
why it's not whoever has reached 4200 mmr instead of end of the season bcuz if someone reaches there they won't keep playing ranked bcuz they don't want to lose mmr, i reached 4223 i think and i disconnected 3.4 times in a row and almost reached 4100 mmr
Sorry to see so much effort put into this. At this point the market is overcrowded with cardgames already, will be hard for Gwent to find decent footing.
It's sad that only acces to this ladder will have people who invest really lot of time in Gwent and Dagon players. 4,1k mmr and there is no way to climb though the monster nightmare, and i sure as hell won't give in and become netdecking zombie myself. I climbed all the way to 4,1k using only my "Foltest rule 34" deck and I'm proud of myself.
Harry yolo Same, Ive been stubbon and Im now stuck at 3.1K but I climbed from 850 to where I am with Reveal NG and Scorchless ST decks. I applaud you for keeping it 100.
Harry yolo respect, I've been using Ciri dash and got to 4250. The only reason why I made it is because over the summer I've had a lot of free time and took many attempts
Props to you. Currently @3.4k with my eredin deck and probably won't reach 4.2k. Netdecking is no fun to me, but I get that some people just like winning or something.
CaptainTalon448 oh it is. Community hosted tournaments like the the Gwentlemen's Open is Swiss format on the qualifiers and the top 16 or 32 would participate in a single elimination tournament the day after.
Now, blizzard...this is how you make a good competitive scenario for the pro players who actually play the game for a living. not that shitty infinite grind that you call ranked mode
so players who refuse play Dagon netdecks (=didnt get to 4200 this season) will remain on the old ladder with single-deck grinders. And Dagon players with 4200 get rewarded with new stuff. great job CDPR
Going e-sports is fine but this is too soon to be trying to make it out this big. Should've did some small-scale venue & online events but keep main focus on improving the game complexity & balance.
Hayati Akmeşe It would be in CDPR's bet interest to release this game on steam, especially financially. It would definitely open the game to a lot of new people who haven't heard about the game. It would also fix a lot of issues with the game on it's current platform GOG Galaxy (updating issues, crashing etc). Besides it costs CDPR pocket change to have this game be on steam.
Sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. Video games can be and, as you can see from the video, are sports
If everyone on pro ladder got there by playing Dagon, that means they're better Dagon players than all the salty noobs that tried and didn't make it. I got there with SK and a friend with NR though, sucks to suck.
I interpret this as "I have no brain to counter Dagons on the ladder, so I release my anger under a video speaking about things that will not pertain to me as long as continue with this attitude".
You cannot create competitive championship with unbalanced game! To be balanced, every meta deck should be able to deal with the rest in one or another way equally.
"Gwent pro in the trailer are HS player", 1st of all there's not yet a Gwent pro scene so it's hard to say who's the best Gwent player atm. And in the trailer they shows the last CDPR event where Lifecoach and Nox battled in final. And if you saw this event, you can understand that HS pro player are more experimented in tournament play than the top ladder players who reached this event. So imo your argument is invalid. Though, I agree that there's some toxic persons in the comments.
Jean-Élie Briot They are most experimented but some kiddo said that HS IS less skilled than Gwent, And in the évent, there were "qualified players" too who don't reach final
"It's not stupid, don't you know every game now wants to have an esports sceren, it will lead to the game longevity plus it's good for the community as a whole. You could ignore all of that and enjoy the single player they offer though. " That would i say if it's not a troll comment hahaha.
So you're announcing a competitive league when we haven't even had a patch that has achieved balance? This patch may be the worst of all. This smacks of people who have too grand a vision of where their game is at right now. Invest in your development team and stop taking the easy road of pleasing the fanboys who tell everyone else to 'stop bitching' and tell you how amazing your game is. Also I whooped a lot of the 'pro players' on ladder that I see in these official/licensed tournaments (won't name any names). So don't sell me this bullshit that the 'elite players' are more skillful than the rest of us. They're just people who don't have a proper jobs.
really don't give a sh*t about these competitive stuff when the game is still missing modes and alot of cards. and thank goodness i never spent a dime on this game and never will if it's going down the throat of some guy who has no life and sits and plays this game 24/7. instead of getting modes and new cards and multiple single player campaigns by paying designers we have this crap.
Chill, Hearthstone is "competitive", and that game is literally at least 70% luck. So you claiming Gwent is 20% luck is irrelevant. If you don't like competitive Gwent then don't compete. Really simple.
"instead" doesn't make any sense. Competetive scene = more attention = more players = more money = more cards and better development. + players can win something literally, noone looses here
Doesn't matter if you don't care. Fact is this level of competition is super healthy for a game like gwent. New modes are also healthy, but those will also come. Chill
Ya know, Gwent is getting single player campaign after gamescom in the huge patch Now fuck off and go play call of duty again if you want a casual game.
Shall i leave my job and become a Gwent master ?
Not really worth it unless you like facing Dagon every game.
Harry yolo it's going to change when more cards will come
Yeah but when is that gonna happen? We still have no news on that
I hope these tournaments can be played within the software not using any 3rd party sites. Magic Online for example is not a good software but playing all the tournaments completely within the client is a big plus imo
Damn this looks epic! Great work.
Very intresting idea
those rules kickass, love the bans and format here
I can't Wait let's go!!!!
Oh my God, this was worth the wait! This looks like everything I dreamed if this ends up working out.
Hope this will be accessible to majority of the community and not a select few. Wouldn't mind just competing. Wouldn't be able to fully commit though with having work and young family.
We need thé challenger system in Hearthstone ... blizzard has so many things to learn to CDProjekt
Also Hyped by this new competition
Fuck Blizzard and their HS for retarded, noskill fuckers like Thijs and other moron. Don't bring them to Gwent. We dont need this trash people here.
VinniV he's saying we need a mode like Arena or really any new modes to gwent. Chill out
Lol HS more skilled than Gwent, that's a good joke. Here's a tip: play the best green card every turn. Concede if you draw badly, so you may get to the next coinflip matchup faster
VinniV I'm so sorry to trigger you :)
So why all HS pro are good at Gwent ?
And you're cancerous AF. Gwent IS not spared by crying kiddo.
Otherwise I'll prefer a lot Gwent
other fuck way a fucking round fucktard
Widze ze gwint ostro wchodzi w e-sport
Damn that sound so cool, like everyone can become a Top player!
I really love the way that CDPR is taking for Gwent!
Ahora si me volvere campeón de gwent !!!
I have 2 questions. In which platform are the tournaments played? I suppose it's in PC but I don't know if there's cross play or something.
Also even though the game is still in beta, has the Pro ladder started yet? Or will it come out when the game launches?
New level for Gwent.
But when will we get spec mode...
I reached 4243 mmr the other day.. just 7 points to reach rank 20. Then the announcement came about the new ladder and suddenly everyone became a master at playing Dagon... I'm now at 3994 mmr...
manolis kar But you could have stayed at 4243 xD 4200 is enough
TopKek Kek Yeah, I didn't know that at the time. Now I'm fucked.
The other top tier decks are Pure Discard Skellige, Control Nilfgaard, Hyperthin Scoia'tael, and tempo Northern Realms. If you can, try those. Discard Skellige often beats Dagon especially if you win the coin flip.
stronggye4 Let's play "Spot the Dagon player" guys...
I am so ready to become a Gwent champion! As soon as i get Level 10
why it's not whoever has reached 4200 mmr instead of end of the season bcuz if someone reaches there they won't keep playing ranked bcuz they don't want to lose mmr, i reached 4223 i think and i disconnected 3.4 times in a row and almost reached 4100 mmr
Sorry to see so much effort put into this. At this point the market is overcrowded with cardgames already, will be hard for Gwent to find decent footing.
No South East Asia Schedule? :(
Thats the new ladder right?

I love cd project red
Hearthstone is fucking Over

Sick😎👍
fix ur servers and bugs b4 going comeptitive. its hard to get rank when game crashes while u try to browse ur discarded cards
It's sad that only acces to this ladder will have people who invest really lot of time in Gwent and Dagon players. 4,1k mmr and there is no way to climb though the monster nightmare, and i sure as hell won't give in and become netdecking zombie myself. Props to you. Currently @3.4k with my eredin deck and probably won't reach 4.2k. Netdecking is no fun to me, but I get that some people just like winning or something.
i easily beat dagons with my unseen elder consume deck, with this deck i jumped from 3.6 mr to 4.1 in less than a week
I've climbed to 4.1k and never played monsters on ladder in about 200 games. Wouldn't call that grinding Dagon.
VERY NICE CDPR, I LOVE YOU !
try guess how many will show up dressing like Geralt?
How come the voice actor wasn't totally in character with the Dandelion voice? it's the same guy clearly!
This is some next level shiat.
Is it possible to play the normal ladder instead of the pro one even if you are above 4200k this season?
Yeah, confirmed.
So Gwent isn't the kind of card game that pairs well with Swiss format?
CaptainTalon448 oh it is. Community hosted tournaments like the the Gwentlemen's Open is Swiss format on the qualifiers and the top 16 or 32 would participate in a single elimination tournament the day after.
yeah baby
Now, blizzard...this is how you make a good competitive scenario for the pro players who actually play the game for a living.
not that shitty infinite grind that you call ranked mode
I wish i was Gwent genius((((
CD PROJEKT RED . Я говорил вам что я вас люблю. Нет так вот сейчас говорю, за Ведьмака за Гвинт за все. Спасибо вам.

Too pro for me unfortunately but I'll watch the tournaments
Of course the video is 4:20 long Kappa
so players who refuse play Dagon netdecks (=didnt get to 4200 this season) will remain on the old ladder with single-deck grinders. And Dagon players with 4200 get rewarded with new stuff. great job CDPR
TOO EARLY FOR COMMENTS. HOLD ME GUYS

Shit but I only have dagon 😢😢😢
wow
Going e-sports is fine but this is too soon to be trying to make it out this big. Should've did some small-scale venue & online events but keep main focus on improving the game complexity & balance.
Tournaments are nice and all, but the game is still in public beta...this just feels rushed. At least say that the game is done or something...
Community: Release Gwent on Steam already!
CDPT: hEreS gwEnT MaSTeRs!!!!1111!!!!
why the fuck would they release it on steam they have their own game platform besides what's the point of this game being on steam
Couldn't care less about this CDPR... Just want a good story campaign from Gwent. Video games are not sports...
Video games are much more competitive than sports, so making tournaments is obviously great for a strategic game like Gwent.
Sport:
an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
Video games can be and, as you can see from the video, are sports
Ale Miliuny skąd tyle macie
RIP F2P player that reach 4.2k MMR
Good luck to all Dagon netdeckers with no skill on pro ladder
SuperNovaPL you missed something!!! he said they have to switch faction over the time in the pro ladder!! this is so smart (if I am not mistaken)
MaxRichter I think you missed something :>
If everyone on pro ladder got there by playing Dagon, that means they're better Dagon players than all the salty noobs that tried and didn't make it. I got there with SK and a friend with NR though, sucks to suck.
I wonder how many people reached 4.2k with just a Nilfgaard deck?
I interpret this as "I have no brain to counter Dagons on the ladder, so I release my anger under a video speaking about things that will not pertain to me as long as continue with this attitude".
I subscribe!!!i want to win the 20 packs
Why did you change gold cards? Gold cards being immune to effects was one of the things we loved about Gwent so this is bullshit!
Nox quit Gwent, take him out of the video.
Tim Wright has he really quit the game? Why?
why is trump in gwent masters
You cannot create competitive championship with unbalanced game! To be balanced, every meta deck should be able to deal with the rest in one or another way equally.
I love how the cancerous part of the game IS trigger when we talk about HearthStone

And in the évent, there were "qualified players" too who don't reach final
This is stupid, don't need this, it's just a game, have fun... besides it would be too easy for me to take #1 spot if i had time for it...
liberator48 Then don't play this kind of ranked mode.
The troll level on this post is insane
Delicious bait.
"It's not stupid, don't you know every game now wants to have an esports sceren, it will lead to the game longevity plus it's good for the community as a whole. You could ignore all of that and enjoy the single player they offer though. "
That would i say if it's not a troll comment hahaha.

How about focusing on making the game fun rather than this farce
people like me can make living now by playing this game so i prefer this over other updates :)
fuck esports
dont play the game if u get easly salty over something like this
How's rank 5 treating you? Huehuehue.
I don't
really don't give a sh*t about these competitive stuff when the game is still missing modes and alot of cards.

and don't you dare call someone the best of this and the best of that when the game is 20% pure luck.
It's a fucking card game
PrinceOfParthia74 Its a card game what did you expect
But you have to build a deck that works well and you have to be able to pilot it well
just fck off
15% concentrated power of will?
