You hit the nail on the head! Concealer adds under eye texture to nearly everyone. I only use foundation and it works wonders for me. Love your channel!
I tried using your tip today by using foundation instead of concealer, and i cant believe how more youthful and natural i looked. I also only use bronzer as eyeshadow. No more smokey looks and palettes with many colors. Love how i recently discovered your channel.
I will show some products that I love under the eye soon (there aren’t many) but yes it’s true - foundation used as concealer is usually the way to go!
I apply creme shadow in the crease and apply whatever is left, which is minimal, on the eyelid. It's all I need with liner and mascara. Skin tints don't settle into lines so I add foundation to moisturiser to sheer it out and only use foundation on its own for special occasions.
I’m almost 59 I I have noticed going lighter with the eye shadow has made my eyes more open so now I trying the darker eye shadows as eye liner and a light eye shadow for the lower lashes nothing dark and it’s been working. Thanks for the video I’m going to try the light foundation under the eye for concealer. 👍🏻
I’m in my 60s with hooded eyes. I find that cream eyeshadows works far better than powder eyeshadow. The powder eyeshadows tend to really dry the skin around my eyes. I’m loving the L’Oréal cream eyeshadow sticks.
I’m 36 and a hairstylist and makeup artist and I 100% agree with everything you said for my own personal makeup. I don’t use concealer. I use 1 cream eyeshadow and I sometimes pat a multi chrome shadow over the top of it. Also I use the same stuff every single day until I run out of that thing. The only thing I have a “collection” of is multichrome eyeshadows. And the only product I use a lot of is cream blush…because I like looking flushed or perhaps a tiny bit sunburnt. I still do a full beat (albeit very soft, romantic, and “natural”) on my bridal clients because that is what they are paying me to do but for myself….super minimal.
I am over 50 & prefer a natural look. I am trying a light application of serum concealer. I don't get how young beauty influencers plaster on makeup thick.
The make up forever eye shadow sticks have staying power. I am going to try Sephora stick today. They carry some Matt colors. I have found everything you said to be true.
@@debbiemaxwell8026 I remember first learning how to apply makeup in makeup school in Southern California in 2002 and a lot of the products we used were from make up forever. It’s an absolutely awesome brand. I agree.
@@jenniferchristopherson I've only used the eyeshadow sticks and eyeliner pencils. I don't like the eyeliner pencils as much as the shadow sticks. They seem to be waxy. What else do you use in that line?
@@paramitabasu4075 thank you so very much! That’s amazing to hear trust me! It can get really hard sometimes- let me know what else you might want to see besides beauty advice- I was thinking of over 45 over 50 life stuff too! ❤️👍🏻
I can't tell you how much money i have wasted over the years trying to find the one that do thats promised, every one goes cakey even when i use the tiny bit, foundation works so much better
I agree with everything 💯 % especially w/ concealer, I never use concealer either I feel it made me look older 😭 I just make sure my skin is hydrated/ well moisturized and stay on top of my skin care and get my sleep and water in! I’m almost 40 but ppl think I’m either 25-28 years old 💖 P.s you look great ❤
It depends on how smooth and light they are. It’s crucial to look for light formulas that still have a lot of pigment to cover the darkness and don’t add weight and texture if that makes sense . From what I remember the BB peach corrector is pretty thick so be sure to use small amounts and really blend
@@pax3550 I can totally see that working for some women too, for sure. As long as it’s a great formula and you are blending right and loving it, I say go for it
My under eyes are so dark and getting worse with age that my foundation doesn’t cut it. Color correction does work wonders and I can use foundation on top of that. But with just foundation my under eyes look grayish. Definitely not a great look.
@@hanniehoekstra8511 yes that’s why I said most but not all can get away with no concealer. But that’s good if you found one you like! What’s the brand? Also another thing I should have mentioned is you can also get a peach or more warm, orange toned foundation color and layer that thinly with your “all over” foundation color. I suspect it looks grey under there cause it’s too light for that area. But yes what you said is very true for some of us!
Try Hourglass concealer. I am a 44yo fair blonde with very purple undereyes (I think it’s veins, honestly) and have tried a lot of products for it. I recently purchased the sample of the Hourglass expecting another fail, but I have been pleasantly surprised.

Yes! Using eye shadows as liner is a great idea 💡 I do that too it’s a bit softer than eye pencil
I’m 63 years old and I’m doing the same thing or I’ll do a single eyeshadow shade & a darker eyeliner (top lashes only).
I felt that too ! I look better without concealer !
Great advice I'm 64 and I'm ditching the concealer!
Thank you!

I use a foundation as a concealer leaving it to dry for some seconds before using a brush. No foundation on the rest of the face.
I love that too. I always say use the least amount of whatever product you use to get the coverage you want

I've had to stop using eye pencil on top of my lashes because it was making me look harsh and haggard. Now, I just use it under my upper lashes.
What do you think of color correctors for under the eyes? I have a peach one from Bobbi Brown to help conceal some darkness.

I don't use foundation. Absolutely can not stand having stuff all over my face. And concealer can be applied where needed, so a much better option.

@@jenv6846 what color did you puchase?
@ Crème 1.5 fair w/ pink undertones. If you have neutral or warm undertones, you’ll definitely want to adjust for that.
Eye balms work better
If your concealer is adding texture, then you’re using too much! Less is more in this case.
