Just found out that band is from the Coachella valley where I currently live. That album cover is off Dillon rd going into sky valley right before desert hot springs
That riff is iconic, but I particularly love the interlude section of Warning between the 3rd and 4th verse. There are like three of four different themes in that section alone. Tony plays solo for like 2 minutes. It's killer. Sabbath were definitely breaking some new ground in music. Fathers of an era.
I am getting really close to 60. Haven't listened to metal as a habit for over 25 years. These riffs rock. I still play. I learned Paraniod and many Zep albums back in the day. These are some really cool riffs.
Sounds like you've been making a mistake for over 25 years. 🤘🏻 Start with at least once a week as your goal, then work your way up from there. You will feel like you started jogging or something.
Man did you nail that Red Fang tone! Great vid overall, nice to discover some riffs (Orchid & Earthless in my case) even after 10 years listening to stoner/doom and thinking you've heard it all :)
That Elephant Riders riff is one of my all time favorite riffs. I love playing that song. Also the Karma To Burn sounds a lot like the breakdown in Bullet In The Head by Rage.
Hey everyone! *Thank you so much for your awesome support, you guys are amazing!!* 🙏🙏🙏 Here are some of my favorite Stoner Riffs, from my favorite Stoner Bands.! Might need a part 2 for this one. Let me know in the comments 😎 🤘🤘
A guitar novice could take this video and with diligent study, become a baddass in a year, IMO. The tones aren't good or great, they're perfect, IMO. It's a joy to just watch, but I can never resist the pull to play along. And thank you. I am not a novice, but a couple of months study on this will absolutely take me to the next level. Respect.
Pantera doesn’t do it for me cause I find Phil’s vocals kinda corny. Can’t explain why. But I can listen to show no mercy, reign in blood, south of heaven, and seasons of the abyss on repeat. Different vibe but yeah they give the kick especially when skating pools.
Man this video is incredible it should have way more views Got around a year ago into guitar and recently got into stoner rock. It stands out so much I love it Excellent taste in music by the way
Elder is like crack for me, such an awesome band and so many amazing riffs, I haven’t been able to stop listening for hours on end for like over a month lol
I think you picked like 7 of my favorite Stoner rock song from these 10 riffs. Wow great selections. Was expecting black pyramid somewhere but damn, you got the best of the best here. A+ \m/
Glad you like muly picks. I was tempted to get some Sabbath like Into the void in there but went with these. So many cool bands in the genre. Can't include everyone in only 11 riffs hehe 😎🤟
Hey there! Thank you so much for this video. I have always known I had a thing for this genre but I did not know bands explicitly. Now I can start my own search from what you have shown me.
The fact that if you told me these songs were all Black Sabbath songs, and I had not known them prior, I would believe you, really speaks volumes about the fine lads from Birmingham.
Yeah man, thanks.! Electric wizard may be getting a top 11 riffs on their own at some point. But yeah, not the usual suspects. Awesome bands and great riffs! 😎🤟🎸
Hello, good question. I use a digitech drop pedal for convinience since I can't really change tuning on my SG. The tunings are the songs' original. I am planning to wire my Hagstrom Les Paul again and have it for the heavier stuff 😎🤟

This gives me strength. I’m currently creating a mount Saint Helen’s/Tsar Bomb level threat in my toilet and I’ve never heard stoner but it helps. Oh god wish me luck
Thanks. Now I know what genre one of my favourite bands from back in the day is. Orange Goblin are basically the first few riffs with more blues mixed in.
Makes me realise that Black Sabbath might be the most influential metal band of all time.
Black Sabbath shaped early metal for sure.
Some say that there are 2 musical period: before and after Beatles. I'll always answer that replacing with Sabbath
Sabbath + Punk is so much music today.
Only if you’re over 50 lmao
Sabbath is where it all starts & ends
"Cool enough for the guys, sexy enough for the girls"

That guy is a total tool
literally the most legit way to describe their sound!
Perfection in a quote!!
The riff from Gardenia makes me feel like an ancient being crawling out of the primordial ooze.
Just found out that band is from the Coachella valley where I currently live. That album cover is off Dillon rd going into sky valley right before desert hot springs
no it doesnt
your comment is better than the actual riff
silence anime pfp
What an observation ! You are doing the stoner thing properly !
Gardenia's riff is sweltering, man that whole album deserves the "desert rock" label. Keeps you warm on a chilly day.
Into The Void by Sabbath is the mother to all these riffs.
100%
Yes
That riff is iconic, but I particularly love the interlude section of Warning between the 3rd and 4th verse. There are like three of four different themes in that section alone. Tony plays solo for like 2 minutes. It's killer.
Sabbath were definitely breaking some new ground in music. Fathers of an era.
"changes" by sabbath is the mother to all these riffs...
So glad Mexicola made it onto this list. I've been listening to it for over 15 years now and it still retains the magic
Fucking great song indeed, was not expecting it since much of the samples were from the more 70s psychodelic kinda of stoner
My fav song of all time! Timeless track…even my teen kids enjoy it! 🤘
That sweet spot where someone has almost the same music taste as you, but then plays it on an SG! Top tier work my friend and some fantastic choices.
Everything is better on an SG, haha. Thank you so much dude 🤟🤟
The sword is nothing but sweet riffs
The Sword rule....so does Orchid ,😁
Kadavar are also very cool! Really like their thing live. The hound on drums as well.
100%
The beginning of Freya is a top 10 riff to me.
Freya is something that can't get off your mind, absolutely strong riff. Stoner at its best
Just missing some Electric Wizard 😂 Great playing and INSANE tone!
yea where tf is funeralopolis
I love Elder but that riff isn't really anything special, Funeralopolis slays it
Think he's going for more early American stoner vibes, Wizard are a bit more doom/stoner - especially by Dopethrone
and a bit of Pentagram perhaps, no? I am thinking 'Megalania' off Review Your Choices
I am getting really close to 60. Haven't listened to metal as a habit for over 25 years. These riffs rock. I still play. I learned Paraniod and many Zep albums back in the day. These are some really cool riffs.
In my 60s bud using dadgbd mostly because of carpal tunnel problems but it does open up a wide spectrum of possibilities.

@@FACTBOT_5000 I honestly like classical a whole lot better.

@@Sam-ni6bc I like some jazz. And some country. Not a whole lot. But some. I think just about every genre has a few artist that are to good to ignore.
Josh homme…the only guy who puts two songs in that list! Fuckin legend.
i think he technically played on Eatin Dust too
Gardenia was written by Brant Bjork
also this dude couldn't keep up with either
God I love Homme
Sleep got 2 riifs from the same record in that list
Something special about Mexicola that stands out from all of those riffs and yet so simple but powerful
Red Fang is super underrated
The whole scene is underrated unfortunately. 🥲 Thanks for watching dude 🤟
Stop saying everything is underrated
@@MeatCatCheesyBlaster underrated comment bro
Wires is such a good choice.. ripping lyrics too
My dad got me into Stoner Rock as a kid, this video is awesome! :D
I couldn't agree more. You NAILED it with this one.
Awesome dude! Glad you liked this! 🤟
props for including orchid! such a great band that nobody really knows about.
Hey Alex, thank you! Orchid is kinda underrated. I think it's pretty known in the stoner community though. Those familiar, sabbathian riffs man.. 🤟😎
eyes behind the wall is such a dope track
Such a Sabbathian riff but with their own character as well. Love the tone. Very good stuff 🤟🤟
Orchid? That well known band that possibly every person who is into stoner/doom knows about?
True. If you're into stoner you should know Orchid. Maybe not into the top bands that stick out imo. At least not "mainstream".
Stoner rock/metal is a great genre.
😎🤘

Putting Eatin' Dust as a second mention earned you my like! That riff slaps so hard!
Can't believe a Electric Wizard riff wasn't on the list!
Didn't want to dive into Stoner doom but.. part 2 is coming soon. 😎🤘
Same. Funeralopolis is such a crushing riff
Wires and Mexicola are among mt favorite riffs of all time.
the sword is such an underrated band, i’m actually obsessed with then
This helps me discover a genre I don't really know, thanks man!
That moment you realize you know everything from this list
Playing is so good, love it
Nice Max & thank you dude! 😎🤜🤛
I love that little flair you give to the Dragonaut riffat 2:38. It sounds so much like early Sabbath.
Thank you so much dude! God knows how influenced I was/am by Iommi. I couldn't help it! 😎🤘
That Elephant Riders riff is one of my all time favorite riffs. I love playing that song. Also the Karma To Burn sounds a lot like the breakdown in Bullet In The Head by Rage.
I bump that album all summer long; every year 🔥
Elephant Rider is 🤘🤘 and yeah, Karma to burn indeed reminds me of that RATM breakdown.

Yeah dude! SLEEP!!! Matt Pike for president🤘
The Sword - Freya 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤟
Legendary stuff
Damn cool riff!! 😎
Sabbath and Zeppelin have always been my go to for chilling, but when I need that surge Pantera and Slayer are good to go ⚡️
