- Segovia is an excellent day trip from Madrid. Located only 1.5 hours by bus or 30 minutes by fast AVE trains from Madrid, Segovia gives travelers a great set of tourist options if you are looking for a day trip from Madrid or a cool place to stay in Spain. Segovia has a number of museums and churches to explore, however the three main sights in the city are the Roman Aqueduct, the cathedral and the Alcazar castle which they say inspired Walt Disney with his Castle.
There are also a number of special things to eat when you are in Segovia, from the bean stew to suckling pig to ponche segoviano a tasty cake you will not go home hungry. Segovia is an amazing place for travelers, tourists, vacationers or just someone looking for a cute town in Spain.

Segovia is a lovely old town. Perfect for me.
Wow. What a beautiful place. Some day sigh....
Stay a few days. I did and I loved it. Spain is affordable to visit in these smaller towns and you get to see more than you would navigating a huge city. I stayed almost a week and loved the streets, finding cafes, walking in the hills around the castle - it was just lovely.
Cool, I've been there once when I visited a friend of mine in Madrid and totally forgot about it. Just saw your thumbnail and remembered the day. Time flies.

I went to Madrid this November 2021. I visited the beautiful Segovia! I took the ave train ( little more expensive) but in 30 min we were there. It was a fantastic day trip. I missed to visite Real Palace of Riofrío ( we were late to visite). Don’t miss to go to Segovia which is located north - west of Madrid.

I'll be there for a week and will definitely do Toledo and Segovia but I'm wondering what is a good and convenient area to stay in Barcelona, can you please help me with any suggestions you may have? You are going to visit Toledo and Segovia... from Barcelona?? That´s like going from NY to Toronto! Segovia and Toledo are nearby Madrid, you can do daily excursions from there, but if you want to visit them and then going back to Barcelona I fear it´s impossible...
How do you deal with internet access abroad? Are you worried about insecure wifi when accessing banking and other important websites?
You can eat the pork in Portugal, which is called Leitao and it is not at all expensive.

How are accommodations in Segovia? Price? Quality? Availability?
+h lynn keith cheaper than madrid. Not as many places as most tourists are day trippers but not a big problem getting accommodation.
