I'm glad I watched your video. I'm getting ready to replace my two front strut assemblies on my SUV. I did not know about the bearing in the in the top and replacing the link bar. I'm going to buy Monroe Quick struts. They are the best. 😇

Exellent presentation. I am down in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico preparing my retirement home and brought down my old 2014 MKT, Livery grade. It needs Struts taht are electroniclly adjustable. The price downhere is $15k pesos which is $850 US currently is an absolute rippoff. I replaced them with a non-electronic strut for $60 US but I am looking to rebuild the old strut. Your presentation was awesome. I will search your channel for content related to my project. You have a new fan. Once I get downhere for my retirement , I may just build a Suspension shot to rebuild these electronic puppies just to beat these thiefs selling a rebuildable item for 10x the price.

Dont pre compress your shocks too far before you install. I did that like this video said and my new shocks started leaking. Needed to replace it

If you live in the North East - 20 miles or less most likely. A few good potholes and your good to go!
Great video! Came across this after having to replace the shocks and struts in my car and wondering what the difference is. Sue explained things clearly and understandably, and showing how the parts are actually on the car was so helpful!

I replaced the struts on my Odyssey.
One side started making a squeaky noise when turning that sound like rubber squeak.
I've tried to lubricate it. But it's this normal or is there a problem with the top bearing it other part?

Have a Nissan Sentra 2011 did the struts make a couple years ago but now I think I need the shocks in the back could you help me out with that stays low in the back now so I don’t know if they have anything to do with the situation

I got shock (pun) -ed too when I learnt that the strut rotates as the steer turns. I still couldn't believe macpherson doesn't wobble that much anyway.

is it possible to extend a shock length for lifting a vechile by cutting and welding more length on the rods?

Hi it me again can you name the model of car you're working on❤❤
Good video, only problem with my spring seated struts, I ordered a third set of strut assemblies. The strut mount with the three bolts did not fit. The strut mount was installed a little offset. On my 2010 Mazda 6, the strut has a vertical knob that must slide into a yoke, so the 3 bolts on the strut mount has to fit almost pricesly. The strut mount does NOT move at all? Do you sell the tool to compress the spring? I noticed the one I got does NOT even fit. The coils are too close to each other. I am not sure if mine is considered a spring seated strut. Mine does have strut mount installed. Please help A1 AUTO. Love watching Sue.

Found the quick struts from China change the ride height and degrade the ride quality from OEM. Therefore, in the future, I will be changing strut only.
To be completely honest, I (a grown-ass man) came here because I didn't even know what a shock or strut are. Now i know what they are and basically how to change them myself! Thanks for this valuable service.
I have a 95 Ford Explorer and put 60,000 more miles on it since I bought it. It's been down BLM and Forest roads. Fabulous rig. I'm the third owner. 6 years of onership and replaced the fuel pump, shocks and sets of tires. I love your videos. I'm a visual learner Very educational for me . Saves me the $$$. I saved your website, because when the time comes, I will give it a shot and order from it. This gal does a great job explaining everything.

Thanks for the great video. What is the chance of the spring breaking? My mechanic said that I have a broken spring when I told him about a noise coming from the right front end of my car. I have to wait a few days before the spring arrives and was told that it was ok to drive the car for short distances on smooth roads until the spring arrives. I would appreciate your opinion.

The "charged gas version" only applies pressure to the oil fluid section the piston still covered in oil. This keeps the oil from foaming and reducing performance.

I just been told that my 2014 cadillac xts vsport platinum has leaky struts that need replacement. The car has magnetic ride on it and 135k miles on odometer. What parts are needed and where to buy ?

Can you please review TRQ strut/shock? I need a set for 01 Volvo V70, can they last at least 10 years or 100,000 miles?

They should be lasting the same as the OE and are backed by a Lifetime warranty against manufacture defects so if they were to fail prematurely we would be able to issue a replacement. So the rubber casing is not necessary for a shock absorber?
My car's current shock absorbers have that cover and it's very loose - that I'm able to move up and down.
And looking at the absorbers on the website, I noticed that they do not have that casing.
