so true what you said....I ride my Cadet for 7 years now...still original frame, fork, stem and handlebars....this was well invested money....she got some upgrades though in rims, cranks and brakes, but, I'm very pleased with it
@@danscompvideos I actually got back into the sport on her😅....had a problem with addiction for several years and dreamed about it every day😅....and there she was, light matt olive...now she got some Odyssey Calibur V2 cranks....Shadow Signature hubs...Odyssey rims....she's officially been pimped 🤣🤣🤣still trying to keep the original look
I immediately thought of Verde just by the title. We bought an A/V for our 7 year old and it's been great. It also came with sealed bearings and is pretty light.
I bought my son the J/V 16” a couple years ago and was immediately impressed. It’s what inspired this video tbo. So many good choices now compared to years ago.
Could do a video on why that WM bike is such light duty. Low spoke count wheels, single bolt stem, 1 piece cranks, etc. Only up for a kid pedaling around the neighborhood.
For an extra $50 you can get a kink Gap 2022 model with Kink 100% 4130 Chromoly HT, TT and DT frame and Kink Stryker forks with 4130 Chromoly Steerer, Tapered Fork Legs and Kink T900 9" rise bars 100% 4130 Chromoly with a Sealed Mid 19mm bottom bracket 👍🚲💨
@@caststhrowsbladespews Yep we just put the 2022 Kink’s on sale but generally they’re a bit more. The Cadet was an overall price drop to $379 going forward. Both great options. But the Gap right now is a steal of a deal!
My first bike, i still have it... A diamondback juju from 2001. Its so. Freaking. Heavy! I just got a sunday blueprint for 350$ and im loving it. Im a female so im not exactly as strong, but now i can actually lift the back tire of the bike off the ground. ☠️ A couple inches of air for just starting is an accomplishment to me. I found this big truck ramp thing parked in a lot near my house, i wanna jump off it and im sure i can land it no problem but im still scared.
Thank you for the video. For several years I have been dreaming of getting a decent starter bike and you just ANSWERED all my "I just don't knows" . Now I just start saving. Thanks Again
They dropped the overall MAP price to $379 which is a really good deal already. I don’t think they’ll go much lower but you never know. The Cadet is about minimum of what you would want in a complete if you’re serious about BMX. Below this would be more for occasional riders or just cruising around in my opinion - Mike
I recently decided to get back into riding after 5+ years. I have an old MirraCo Icon Moto from like 12 years ago that could use a little love. Would i be better off upgrading that bike or starting over? Need a new rear wheel and sprocket at a minimum. I sunk a lot of money into the bike years ago and its about 19lbs if i remember correctly. Glow in the dark Odyssey Twisted PC pedals that i cant find anymore lmao. Shadow Interlock V1 Half link. I can't bring myself to get rid of it, but i'm not sure what would be worth it more. Fix up or new complete
It sounds like you have some good parts on it. You might be able to just update a few things here and there and roll with it. Personally I wouldn’t replace it with an all new complete unless you’re looking at a mid to pro level complete. That bike already came with some decent parts when you got it, but it really depends on your budget. If you’re looking at spending $200-$400 I’d upgrade your current bike, maybe even get a new frame and swap all the parts over. If you’re spending $500 plus it might be worth getting an all new setup. - Mike
They’re stock single-wall rims so you’ll need to upgrade at some point just like any other single-wall rim bike. They’ll hold up ok at first as you see in the video, but a lot of it depends on how smooth you can land. The big advantage to the Cadet is it has sealed hubs.
The Whip is a great bike and a top seller. It has more chromoly and should be stronger overall, however it is over $100 more in cost so it depends on what you want to spend up front. The Cadet is a great entry level bike. The Whip is a mid-level bike, albeit barely.
I got a Kmart bmx for 170 just for some cruising around and bmx nostalgia, hi-ten everything, loose ball headset and BB, 3 piece cranks, 48 spoke single wall rims with semi sealed hubs, got new tyres for it and with a good set up it's suprisingly solid. About to upgrade to a feind type O though just for peace of mind on larger jumps/drops. Will probably give my other bike away
Hi, i'm a complete begginer looking to get a decent bmx, at a pre owned store they have a 2019 WTP Arcade bmx for a little cheaper than this bike, i'm thinking about going for the WTP but what do you think?
Looking at the specs of that bike it appears the only real advantage is the frame on the WTP has a chromoly downtube. The rest is very similar in spec. It boils down to if you want a used bike for slightly cheaper or a new bike for a little bit more. As long as the WTP is in good shape that's a tough decision. Both are great options.
Great question. Not for this price. We have an older video where we build a full custom for under $1k. You could go a little lower but not by much ua-cam.com/video/DYK9NrEnBYg/v-deo.html
That bunnyhop tho on the Walmart bike

Awesome to hear. For the money it's a great base to start with.

get a Verde....mine is 7years old and still running
Thanks for this video guys! I have the Verde AV and it's great for the price....
Enjoy it!
The weight is very respectable. Consider doing some parts swaps on it to potentially bring down the price even more?

are the rims strong, not that you jump a stair set and it bends

Do you think the verde a/v is as good as this?
The A/V is almost exactly the same other than slightly smaller geometry and cheaper tires. It really would depend on how tall you are.

does anyone have an opinion on the eon
Buying from you tomorrow anyway. Not Verde!! Can I get some free pegs or tires with my purchase!!
Have you done a video like this for any of the haro bikes?
Nothing on Haro at this time but possibly in the future.
