It's bad if you do it before the engine has warmed up, but otherwise no not really, the rev limit is set by the manufacturer to be comfortably within the engine's safe tolerances for reliability. Obviously creates more general wear and tear from metal parts spinning faster, but not 'bad' per se.

This engine with the right intake sounds incredible
