  • We walk along the atmospheric streets of Nakano, West Tokyo, on a Wednesday evening in February 2020.
We were trying to reach the Daikaiju Salon, which is normally open on Wednesdays, but this day it was sadly closed!
Nakano is just 1-3 stops from Shinjuku on the Chuo line. It's famous for Nakano Broadway, a palace for Otaku and Otome (geeks) that Sarah prefers to Akihabara because of all the sofubi and vintage toys available. There are lots of little places to eat and drink though, so it's fun to explore.
NB: many of the shops in Nakano Broadway don't open until later in the day, so it's better to plan your visit for the afternoon.
