Japan's real life Ghibli town | J P | Yufuin Floral Village 🌹🌸
We pay a trip to Yufuin in Kyushu, a popular onsen town with both a Ghibli and a Snoopy village, lots of pretty autumn sights and excellent street food!
Come with us as we wander around the village and try as many tasty things on sticks or in paper wrappers as we can!
There's a teaser in the video for our trip back to Hakata (Fukuoka) on the special Yufuin no Mori train. Stay tuned for a future video where we take you on a train tour!
You can reach Kyushu easily from Fukuoka or from Oita. You can also go from Kumamoto with a change at Kurume station. Both the JR Kyushu express train and Yufuin no Mori train are included under the Japan Rail Pass (but it's very popular, so I advise you to book early, especially for the Yufuin no Mori).

Переглядів 1,1 тис.Місяць тому
In November 2023, we travelled on the Hello Kitty bullet train between Okayama in Western Honshu and Hakata station in Fukuoka, Kyushu. This special themed bullet train goes between Osaka and Fukuoka most days to replace a normal Kodoma service. It's included in the Japanese Rail Pass for no extra charge, but it's definitely recommended to book seats in one of the other carriages to guarantee y...
Is it worth visiting Okayama prefecture? | J P | Kurashiki, Pokemon manhole lids & Korakuen Garden
Переглядів 1893 місяці тому
We make the most of 24 hours in Okayama prefecture in Western Honshu, Japan. Staying in Okayama City on our way down to Kyushu from Tokyo, we visited pretty Kurashiki, find the three Momotaro (Peach Boy) themed Pokemon manhole covers (Pokelids), and then went to see Okayama Castle and the stunning Korakuen Garden. Okayama isn't visited as much as other prefectures in Japan, and if people do go ...

Переглядів 7395 місяців тому
We go to Kumamoto in Kyushu, Japan to see as many Kumamon things as possible, and hopefully even meet the bear himself! If you want to visit Kumamon Square, it's on the ground floor of the Tsuruya department store building, just by the Suidocho tram stop. It’s also the location for Kumamon’s office. Kumamon appears in his office almost every day of the week. There’s a list of times on the websi...
The best quieter places in Akihabara, Tokyo J P
Переглядів 2846 місяців тому
Akihabara has become a real tourist hotspot for otaku (geeks) from all over the world, drawn to the colourful Electric Town they've read about and seen online, and hoping to get some bargain figures or comics. Even over the nine years we've been coming to Japan we've seen a massive increase in visitors. In this video, Steve goes on the hunt for some quieter areas, away from the main stretch. In...
Best park in Tokyo? J P Autumn visit to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
Переглядів 2607 місяців тому
We pay our first trip to Shinjuku's Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo to see the Autumn colours. With so many free parks in Tokyo, is it worth paying 500 yen to get in, and what's there? To get to the garden, go to Shinjuku rail station or Shinjuku-Gyoemmae metro station. There's also an entrance near Sendagaya rail station on the Chuo-Sobu JR line. The park costs 500 yen entry, and you can pay wi...
We went to Toycon UK 2022!
Переглядів 7122 роки тому
Here's our quick guide to Toycon UK 2022, the UK's art and designer toy and figure convention. We attended on the first day (Saturday 11 June 2022). We'd never been before and were excited to see if we could find any special sofubis (soft vinyl) or other collectible figures. In particular, would Sarah be able to find any of Konatsu's Negora sofubi figures to add to her collection?

A whole shopping mall dedicated to Anpanman? J P
Переглядів 6672 роки тому
Imagine a shopping centre entirely dedicated to long-running children's anime series, Anpanman! Well there are five of them across Japan (mostly in Honshu). In February 2020, we took a visit to the mall in Sendai and saw everything from clothing, bags, toys, cakes and sweets, to ribbon, fabric and buttons featuring Anpanman, his enemy Baikinman and all their friends/associates. There's also a c...
We returned to Toudoukan | Tokyo's top pro-wrestling (プロレス) store (2020) J P
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 роки тому
Toudoukan in Sugamo, Central Tokyo, is the top Pro-Wrestling (Puroresu, プロレス) store in the city, possibly the country. It has everything wrestling from Asuka to Zack Sabre Jr. After first visiting in May 2018, we went back in February 2020 to see what had changed and find out more about the exclusive or unique memorabilia, costumes or merch available. Pre-COVID, the shop also held regular event...
Nakano night time walkthrough | J P Tokyo walking
Переглядів 1573 роки тому
We walk along the atmospheric streets of Nakano, West Tokyo, on a Wednesday evening in February 2020. We were trying to reach the Daikaiju Salon, which is normally open on Wednesdays, but this day it was sadly closed! Nakano is just 1-3 stops from Shinjuku on the Chuo line. It's famous for Nakano Broadway, a palace for Otaku and Otome (geeks) that Sarah prefers to Akihabara because of all the s...
We had a Godzilla-themed Valentine's Day in Tokyo! J P
Переглядів 1893 роки тому
A couple who don't do Valentine's Day but love theme cafes stumble across a wonderful and unexpected crossover in the Marui Annex department store in Shinjuku - a Godzilla vs Valentine's Day pop-up cafe. Is this the most bizarre theme cafe ever? Dare we try the Godzuki soda, the volcano curry or the Mothra croque en bouche? Would you have been able to resist this cafe's charms? Let us know in t...
Ginzan Onsen | Snowy Japanese hot spring town J P
Переглядів 8733 роки тому
In February 2020, we paid a trip to Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata prefecture in Japan. Ginzan Onsen is a traditional Japanese spa town and one of the inspirations for the Studio Ghibli film, "Spirited Away", directed by Hayao Miyazaki. We braved the hottest footbaths known to man, saw an accident waiting to happen, watched a ceremonial Setsubun fire, and stayed at a traditional Japanese inn, or ryok...
Is Hakodate Morning Market worth visiting? J P
Переглядів 2253 роки тому
Would you be able to eat a big bowl of sushi and rice at 7:30am? We got up early in Hakodate to get the train to the city centre to visit the Asaichi Morning Market and go for a kaisendon, or sushi donburi (rice bowl) in the Donburi Yokocho next door. Hakodate's on the Southern coast of Hokkaido and it's famous for its seafood. The icy waters are perfect for seafood and fish like tuna (maguro),...

Thank you guys I’ll be sure to pay this town a visit looks very interesting and fun to chill and learn from about!! ✌️✌️✌️
Ahhh the Heidi movie! I'm not sure I've seen it before either but I had a picture book of it as a kid xD I'd love to go here. And for that dango 🙏💖
A lot of the figures were similar to the station at Tama. Brought back many happy memories of a Sunday spent in Sanrio Land. ❤
Ooh, we've never been there. Maybe another time!
🚊🐱🤖🇯🇵🇬🇧🚊
Fun Hello Kitty Train Ride you guys, I might take a ride on it sometime, thanks again for another helpful and fun video, 🦾🦾🦾

No problem!
We love creepy vending machine corner! 🤣
So creepy!
Nice seeing a different side of Akihabara
It was crazy busy. Thanks for watching.
They may be smiling, but they're planning to poison you.
Oh no, surely not! 😂 We didn't have any of the food, but we were okay after the drinks.
@@miru_japan yes they are , they want to take over the world. The one that served you must have had a bug.

Merry belated Christmas and Happy 2024 you two 🥳🥳🥳
Looks peaceful ✌️ glad to see you were able to get back there
Thanks! :-)
Gorgeous. We kept out of a lot of the green spaces as I react really badly to insect bites. It's such a shame as we love parks. Thanks for another great video ❤
Thanks Kerry - I can get bad reactions too, but at that time of year it wasn't too bad. We steered well clear of those spiders though!
You know the one wrestler they would never let enter in: Jose "Invader" Gonzalez.
Their steak sauce is unbelievable
It was all so good!
This looks like heaven!
It was brilliant!
Oh lord that is the spot to go to while doing the puroresu tour. I remember Stan Hansen attending in the early 90s great memories.
It was fun, and the bonus was that we got to have delicious steak!
oh yeah right, not including the simpson as the longest running show.
It's certainly close, but Soreike! Anpanman started a year before the full series of The Simpsons started outside the Tracy Ullman Show
So. Which of of this is Conor.
Ok, I went to an insanely cool dive bar in Tokyo that all this weird Godzilla/junk stuff in it, I’m wondering if this is it? It even had a huge pile of trash in it for some reason Just wondering if this is it as I would love to go again, looks like it!
Well we didn't see trash, but there are a lot of Godzilla and other sci-fi toys and the owner was lovely and very good-humoured about my then very limited Japanese! The bar's in Koenji, under the Chuo railway line that goes west from Shinjuku. There's also a toy shop above, but it's not always open.
Hey iknow this robot from Finland too Pepper robot
They're obviously travelling around the world! 🙂
Looks nice and cozy. With the food at ryokans I try like 7 new ingredients that I haven't had before and I'm happy if I only leave one or two, even with a Japanese palette.
It was lovely there. And great to try new foods. We didn't video the breakfast but I tried natto there for the first time!
ATENDENTE - ROBOT - PEPPER - ROBÓT - FALANTE - FANTÁSTIC !!! MUITO - LINDO !!! PEPPER - ROBÓT- FALANTE !!! .
Pepper eas adorable but kept having serious work issues. They cancelled production of the Pepper and Asimo model's some time ago.
Wow, that's fascinating! We didn't encounter any problems on our trip, but we don't have to work with them every day!

are those Art Toys? they all look great! ToyConPH 2022 is coming as well. It has been gone for more than 2 years beacause of the Pandemic, now it's back! With Vengeance! ^_^ Thanks for the Vid!
Loving Brian captured mid roar. ❤️
The original location is located on Higashigotanda.
Thanks!
I don’t understand, what is the purpose behind any restaurant being completely robotic? Eliminating job duties? Or do they annoyed around real people ? Kind of depressing if you ask me
It wasn't completely robotic - there were people working there too in case anyone needed any help. And while the food seemed to come out on the serving robots, our drinks were brought by humans. 🙂 I think it's more of a novelty bar, but it was cute and fun!
It's more about having a concept or theme because the technology is probably not ready yet to replace humans in a way that would make it cheaper.
It was my first toycon! Everyone inspired me to make my own. Definitely going again next year
Nice video, looked like a lot of fun! I would have had a tough time passing on the Sunguts Megalodon. Would have taken my whole budget but totally worth it haha. BTW - love the AEW hoodie!
Hehehe! Yes, there were some tempting figures. We resisted the charms of the Negora though!
Awesome video! We picked up some Sunguts 🦈🐙🦞
Thanks so much, we enjoyed your video too! The Sunguts figures were really fun! We'll look out for their stuff whenever we can get to Nakano Broadway next too.
Great video, it was out first and we loved it! Love the hoody!
Thanks, it was our first time at ToyCon, and we didn't know what to expect. It was really good. Thanks for the hoody love too - Steve's a big AEW fan - you might like some of our videos about Japanese pro-wrestling spots in Japan.
toys street may not be that necessary to visit if you are not keen to... but , if you interest to toys or you are kidult, you should definitely know the hong kong toys history. HK was the world's no.1 toys manufactory during 70s. Now ,HK has a lot of toys designers and brands that are still active in the market.
Hi Aoshima Grace, that's great, thanks for watching and providing more info about Toy Street's history!
Looks lovely 🥰
Thanks Kerry!
Love Togri Bakery and Tom. So nice to see this x
Thanks Chris. Such a kind thing to say. You're so sweet! ❤️
Thanks Christine! We're hoping to do another collab sometime!
I lived in Meguro 4 years, would often get stuck at the traffic light in front of this steakhouse, look over at the wrestling photos and think "I must pop in here one day." Never did to my great regret. Thanks for the vid!
You definitely should go when you're next in Tokyo!

It was loads of fun trying out a new Japanese cake recipe with you guys. Can't wait to try more in the future!!!
