  • Meet the Dog. A Wharram Tiki 38 foot catamaran. Finally a movie to give people a better idea of what everything looks like. It still isn't impressive, but at least things make more sense now. We'd love to hear ideas for future movies. What is it that people would like to see? One of these future movies will be "Orchestrating epoxy. Sub zero, sunbeams, solvents, small cups, and swearing. How to make epoxy do what you want when the environment wont." It's a working title.

Building a boat is a dream crusher. It takes a lot of time and money to do it right.

Watch at your own risk. I guarantee that there is no production values, AI narration, editing, or anything that would cause people to want to continue. If you are a reader (hahahahahahaha), you could try the blog acatnameddog.com.

We'll try to keep posting regularly. Please do tell us if there is anything that would specifically interest you. It's helpful to know what people like to watch. Philosophy, boat building psychotherapy, gluing projects, or just boat themed slapstick style comedy in the tradition of the Marx brothers.

Tx. What you are doing is just fine. Wharram was based for a while many years ago in our hometown here in Ireland,

Right! Rear beam deserve better than a simple tube...

Right, something you can attach a wind generator and a Sail-O-Mat too, And something that I can repair easily!

Looks great. When in doubt use some cut up inner tubes to gap fill and lash it up.

Looks good, thanks for the tour. How do you get it to the marina? Take the beams off for transport and reassemble?

We have no early videos. I am pretty close to being a video idiot. I realize It is the currency of the time. Lots of people don't read, but the regular blog details some, if you can stomach it.

I posted a weekly blog describing the build. Unfortunately, you have to read, something few people do these days. It's at acatnameddog.com

For anyone trying to remember starboard vs port. The word Left has four letters, so does its boating term Port.

I don't make nice videos. My videos are junk. The music on the videos are what we can dig up for free. If you want good music, you have to cast aside the videos and read the blog.

A Cat Named Dog that seems to be downtown according to the news, I hope you made it through the storm, ok.i wonder if lashings are better than bolts ,I ain't editing no footage so I'll only say good things

    • @cartmanrlsusall

Bob Black lucky fish is giving me the idea that I might be able to afford a world cruiser even with my income. I wonder if all that wooden decking and trampoline surface could be replaced by welded aluminum tube planks I bet it would be lighter than wood. But that will wait till I build my own tiki. ...yes I'm a welder wood is a mystery to me.

The boat weathered the storm. The question is did the ship yards. The idea of lashings is to allow everything to flex. He even uses them on rudders because he kept breaking pintles and gudgeons. It's a semi organic view to boat building.
