    Matt, this was useful but I had hoped you would fill us in on more intricate details of how to testify 🙂.
    Like in high profile cases, how attorneys actually prepare their clients.

    There needs to be a thinktank put together in how to win criminal trials, the prosecution has such an advantage in this day and age.

    • @MatthewHarrisLawPLLC
      @MatthewHarrisLawPLLC  3 роки тому

      You know, most Criminal Defense Attorneys are members of local and state Criminal Defense Lawyer Associations where they are able to pool their collective resources in providing a defense for their clients. You're absolutely correct that the prosecution holds the advantage, but an experienced attorney can use the Constitution to their client's benefit.

    Is common Sense! Your in a proper place to represent oneself. The way a person dress is determine how one look at your character…

      You know, in the years that I've spent practicing law, I've learned that "common sense" isn't actually all that "common" unfortunately.
      You're absolutely right though, many times the book does in fact get judged by its cover, and you only get one chance to make a good first impression.

    Can you provide any advise for finding attorney's that might handle scam cases involving Nigerian scammers?

    • @MatthewHarrisLawPLLC
      @MatthewHarrisLawPLLC  2 роки тому

      We've handled one of those locally before. The best advice would be to focus on the Cause of Action (fraud, breach of contract, etc.) and speak with a local attorney. They'll probably only work on an hourly basis since recovery of attorney's fees (or any recovery) will be difficult.
      So sorry to hear that you're going though that! I hope you didn't lose too much to the scammers. 😟

      @@pathanson2220 OMG! 😱 That's terrible! Definitely contact someone locally and don't quit even if the first couple of attorneys won't take the case. Our client was out $15K, and we got him $80k and several attorneys turned him away before he came to us.
