Ryan Cozart yep! Loved how more immersive the Pandaren and Worgen starting zones are. Especially how the zone changes as the story progresses like the flood in the worgen starting zone was epic!
The Worgen starting zone is my favorite along with the Forsaken. My Worgen rogue was a Gilnaen street urchin adopted by a bunch of bandits and they'd use her to "bait" merchant wagons for robberies and taught her how to pickpocket and throw knives. Worgen rogue is insanely fun to play, and you get two speed boost abilities in Dark Flight (racial) and Sprint (class)!
Mine is a worgen druid. He have a calm childhood. He learned music from the Gilneas priests. İn his 16, he losts his parents. After 1 year, (ft. While in the starting area time) he finds out he is a worgen. Few weeks, he is trying to control the curse. After 1 month, he can be himself again. A few days, he live in a cave. After a few days, souls whispers him to find the druid in the woods. After a few day, he found a old night elf druid. After meeting, old druid starts to train him and help to became a druid for 2 years. 🐺☘️
The serum that was used was only temporary. Later in the questing you come across a group of Night Elves that help you actually control your form. Until that quest you can't change back into human form, and are stuck as a Worgen.
Worgen is one of the best races I love. It may not have a good strategy like racial ability, but they are quite amazing. Even though people call me a furry because of being a Worgen, but I accept being a Worgen. They are great looking in most armors. Also, they look amazing in some of the uncommon gear of Cata. Especially the Black Leather Set. were you see the Feral Worgen wearing amazing black armor.
If you really want to RP a Worgen Death Knight and cant wait until Mr. Doron finishes his series you can ask me questions, this is one topic I'm willing to answer questions about, but here are some really basic rules: 1)You are locked into Worgen form, because either you are a generation 1.0 Worgen DK or 2.0, the first generation is fully feral, uncontrolled, and the second is semi-feral, with some will power, but still under both curses. 2) You are from Lordaeron if you choose 2nd gen, if you choose 1st, you are one of the original worgen that where summoned by Arugal. 3) The worgen curse counters the DK curse to some degree, now that Arthas is dead, so you have a little moré freedom than other DKs (You dont need to cause pain to survive, but you can still pull that off) PS: as you can name your worgen with a human name, just like Doron said, you can also use a Druid name, depends on what type of worgen you choose (Mine is Belinda Sorrowbreeze, 2nd gen worgen from Lordaeron) PS2: this rules are just BASIC suggestions, you dont need to strictly follow them, if you have a doubt about something, ask me or wait until Doron does his DK RP guide, have a nice day with your Role Play :3!!

(Like seriously, I've never thought someone would ask me info from another race) Here are some random thoughts: (This is ROUGHLY what you need to know about those Class/Race combos, just as with the Worgen one, this AREN'T strict rules that you need to follow, meaning that you can change some stuff, the fun of Role Playing lies within the story/character development that you do) I) Night Elf Mage: They used to be at the peak of NE society, they where once called the "Highborne." Until 10k years ago, when the Well of Eternity was used to summon the legion, they are now looked down upon by the rest of their society, at some point, they where exiled, now they've been recently re-introduced to their society. 1) Your character is extremely Old, He/She is over 10k years. (Mostly because the practice of arcane magic is banned in their society, and the Highborne are the last users of that magic) 2)Your character used to live in Queen Azshara's Palace at Zin-Azshari, now either lives in Darnassus or any other Alliance settlement where magic is being practiced. 3)Your character used to be one of the most respected members of NE society, now most NEs still think they shouldn't be considered part of their society, others respect the Highborne, but they think as if they where normal/common NEs. Some Highborne accepted that their world has changed and now see it with normal eyes, others still think highly of themselves, but those are mostly "unwanted" by the other races because of their high self-esteem and selfishness. II) Night Elf Druid: I've personally thought that Pre-Wc3 Druids where only male, and recently females became druids, but a few items suggest that Druids also accepted females on their ranks, now lets start with the suggestions: 1)Your character may be young or extremely Old, from about 200 to over 10k years. 2)Your character could be from any of the Old NE cities. Here are some: Zin-Azshari(The Capital, where the Queen's palace rested), Suramar, Vashj'ir, etc. 3)He/She is a respected member of the NE community, their personality is commonly Passive, but if something endangers the balance of the nature or threatens them directly, they will act, and they wont back down easily from a fight. Druids as we know, are extremely connected to the emerald dream, and they don't believe that something is purely evil, they believe evil can be redeemed. Their normal reaction to something or someone that alters the balance is an Aggressive one (Unless that someone's intentions aren't evil)
i hate to necro an old post but... 1st generation DK were the orc warlocks forcing their spirits into the bodies of human knights. 2nd generation started with Arthas taking up frostmourne and any death knights he created in his rise to the mantle of Lich King. 3rd Generation are the first wave of Death Knights that we get to play (every race not including the Allied races from Legion/BFA) and these are fallen heroes raised in service of the Lich King. This usually means forced into servitude and is an important distinction 4th Generation is the second wave of Death Knights which includes the base races and the allied races as is entirely voluntary recruits. Having typed these out i see HEAVY similarities between the generations of DK's and the generations of Spartans from Halo... (first generation not included from either)
I never played worgens all that much, but since I started getting into their lore and story they seem to be one of my favorite races now, because their story is so unique compared to others. :D
Doronsmovies To me Gilneans are one of the most strong patriotic races of the Alliance that can compete in fact of aggressivity and faction-pride with the Horde. I love roleplaying as one and the battles are usually something epic, expecially with the werewolf flavor. Also, sorry for the grammar nazi but please, plural of Worgen is Worgen, not Worgens.
Quick correction: the Greymane wall was built after the 2nd war. Not between the 1st and 2nd. The 1st and 2nd war often get confused as one bleeds directly into the other. 1st war was the siege and destruction of Stormwind, and the 2nd was the formation of the original alliance of lorderon, which gilneas was very much a part of, and the subsequent pushing back of the orcs into Dreanor. It was in the aftermath of the 2nd war when Greymane squabbled with Teranas over the cost of the Orc internment camps that Gilneas left the alliance and erected the Greymane wall. The. There was the 3rd war which is just the events of Warcraft 3 where Gilneas is mostly safely tucked behind their wall, and leave the rest of the human kingdoms to fall to the scourge, hence why Varion is pretty pissed and reluctant to allow gilneas to join the new alliance at the beginning of wolf heart.

If you Rp a worgan warlock like me, because of the absolute iron will and control of a warlock, it makes it natural to pull off perfect control of worgen form without having to be peaceful in nature like this guide.
Worgen Mages are particularly fun, in my opinion. Mine's a battle mage, taking full advantage of the increased size, strength, and durability of the worgen form.
Sorry doron but you are a little bit wrong. Yes krwnnan made the potion to control your worgen form but they dont work like this now. They can control themselves because of the night elf ritual. You can see ot around 10lvl in worgen startong area.
A dingo is an Australian wild dog with blonde fur. So a Dingen is a cousin counterpart of the British Worgen? A blood elf worgen may be a Fox version and orc as a pitbull or rottweiler variant.
Something I tried is the "controlled Anger" when you, perhaps with the help of a shaman or druid or pandaren, larn to use your natural rage and bloodthirts in combat. Eaither as perhaps a prowlig Rouge who uses fist weapons, allowing you to use your natural claws while useing the fist weapons. Another idea that i used and was taken quite well was that my worgen used his natural rage to make himself stronger, pushing his muscles almost to their limits, and becoming strong enough to pick up a tauren, with full Heavy armor over his head and throw them. Its fun to be creative, and you don't even need to be Aggresive aggresive when you play that role, as you can simply say that you feel the anger, the snarling rage, and you allow it to come out, but your fully in Control, and not clouded by the rage.
The very first Warcraft game was called ',Orcs and Humans'', word for word. So of course they will put the emphasis on the two basic races, the two races that they started this with. Most Fantasies start off with Humans vs Orcs, with Orcs being bad and blah blah blah, but the main thing I like about WoW is it did not make the Orcs into the bad guys, they made them into just another race trying to claim their place in a world where they never will be accepted simply for the color of their skin and their tribal ways.

I was so sad that worgens were alliance. I play horde only but... I could not resist making one. I dont play my worgen often, but i LOVE it whenever I do. There is something truly special about them.
Just transmogrify your alliance tabard into a Horde tabard. I did that for my male Worgen Warrior, Reksar, and my Female Worgen Rogue, Loona the Hell Worgen.
I like that picture of the Worgen hunter I don't know why but I do, I'd like Gnomes and Goblins. They seem like they would be very very fun to roleplay as! love your theme by the way!
Any chance you could elaborate a bit more on Worgen druidism (especially what a 'Harvest Witch' is) in an upcoming video? Or maybe just the different types of religion in Azeroth? Like how the Light is treated by different races, compared to different types of druidism or shamanism etc... I think that would be especially interesting!
+Megami Yari Long ago humans had some interest in nature magics but all of that got shunned once they embraced the Light. Some Gilnean still kept the knowledge which was very useful. Gilneas was isolated so the harvest witches would accelerate the growth of the crops and improve the environment around them. It just basic druidism.
Unfortunately there is not much lore on harvest witches(non-gender specific term) or the magics/religion they practice, the Old Ways. They are based of Celtic Druids, so read up on them if you want to roleplay one.
Here is a W.I.P backstory for my character "Coya-MoonGuard" :) Enjoy!One crisp morning, within the walls of Gilneas, in the cryptic depths of Gilneas City, there lied a violent problem, spreading like wildfire. There were rabid, towering, beastly beings of brute strength known as worgen. Harsh, peircing claws, large bristling, mangled grey fur. A true menacing appearence on a worgen's face. An itimidating grin that will bring fear to anyone whom lived to see it. Bloodstained teeth, deep brown threatening eyes. They come in packs, packs in the thousands. They come, for fresh meat: the Gilneans.*_____________________________________________________________________________* Many people were caught in bloody slaughter of a worgen's inescapable claws or jaws, yet many survived. Although there was not an abundance of the Gilnean military left. Mercenaries were hired. One of the Gilneans, her name is Coya Freerunner. Coya is a young tall lengthy figure with long black hair and hazel eyes. Coya had a tranquill life-mostly. Coya began her life with a populous family, she had an effortless(to her) and accessable job as a blacksmith. Constructing and designing armour as a living, making a superb amout of income. As she mined and made armour and weapons, she also made time for her family. Coya had many brothers and sisters, as usual they would fight over the smallest of things. Their parents took them out to see all of Gilneas city from time to time, buy them whatever they wanted, Coya and her siblings were very spoiled. The Freerunners were a rich family. They built their wealth from the ground up with hard work and smarts. Coya and her kinfolk walked out at adulthood to go start a new life for themselves. * * * Of course Coya also visited her family as did her kin time to time, as stated before. Coya lived in a small almost apartment like house that came in a white-cream color, three windows, a tightly squeezed in door, and a fireplace for warmth in the winter and possibly fall. She decided on a small house not because it was all she could afford, but all she needed. Starting out her life was a little tough for Coya, as it was for any adult. Taxes, food, etc...... She wanted an animal; company; a pet.*________________________________________________________________* Loud screams of agony scattered across the sky above Gilneas, followed by long howls, the worgen were here. What you mentioned about accents there is an addon called Tongues that might help with RP cause you can actually change your accent with that so that when you say something it will change the spelling to that accent
The lore i always understood was that Worgens was the results of Druids going nuts after trying to use the forbidden wolf form as the spirit of goldrinn tends to make them hostile. Another one is that Worgens are the children of goldrinn, like the sisters and sons of cenarius are the children of Cenarius and The harpies are the children of Aviana.
I think doing the split personality back words would be really good, Like in human form you feel un-natural as if the worgen curse has taken most of your spirit. You could act nervous, lie, make excuses and venture off alone just to be a worgen and when your in worgen form you are more relaxed and set back, you feel natural. Being a worgen could be like a drug to your character and you would do anything to get it.
My Outlaw Rogue is a Worgen that stays in human form a lot of the time, but when someone says "Hey, worgen" or something like that, he will not be afraid to shoot or slice at you. When this happens, if they're alone, they'll go worgen and seriously threaten you. Another thing is that occasionally, both in day and night, they'll experience sharp pains in the back and legs, and will stumble outside, into wild, and go worgen and run away. Like far away. Maybe even through entire zones. But when they are exhausted, they'll go human, and collapse for a while, and when they wake up they'll start panicking and start hitting things, and scratching things, all around it, while screaming. What's your opinions?
Would roleplaying as a Worgen who has purposefully chosen or been forced to by lack of control to always be in their wolf form be a bad idea. I just imagine a character, probably most suiting a hunter, who has been in his/her wolf form for so long that they can't return to human form. Again, either because they have embraced the wolf and find it thrilling, thus they don't want to return to being human, and now they no longer can. Or because they have lost control and become feral. I couldn't help but get this idea but wonder if maybe it'd be too corny or stupid or lore breaking? Any thoughts?
Worgen are probably my favorite race int he alliance, along side the Draenei. and if i had to use this video as a example of how my Worgen character is, it'd probably be a mix between calm and aggressive. he can control himself, but he's definitely alot meaner than he normally would be.
I play my worgen as former human from Pyrewood. When the Gilneans fled and the gates were left wide open, He stumbled upon a crate full of the serum that gave him his consciousness back. Although he's a rogue, who uses natural claws (Transmogged swords), he was also an alchemist, and reverse engineered the serum to create more. He can't transform, but his serum lasts him a week, unless it's a full moon, then he has to triple the dosage to avoid going completely feral... As far as naming, I use the phonetic spelling of his first name, and no last name. He can't remember it...
"The think Gilneas is the best nation, that everything that comes out of Gilneas is the best!" Gilneas is pretty much the wow version of U.S.A :D And Genn Greymane was named Greymane loooong before the Worgen Curse.
+Kenji 1987 (Kenji87) Leaving aside subjective assessments of the US, Gilneas is a monarchy with a very hierarchical aristocratic society with a distinctly old world flavour which doesn't fit very well with the more open, meritocratic society of the States. A closer in-game comparison to the fluid US social system where ability trumps pedigree and success is rewarded might be the Goblin society (and not just because of the whole Nu Yoik aesthetic). Anyone with the right skills can become Trade Prince, but the main qualifying characteristic of the kings of Gilneas is their blood ties to the previous occupant of the throne.

I play an optimistic, curious and smart-mouth worgen druid. Young fellow who showed interest in nature-magic and spent a lot of times tending farms, vineyards and forests. Got really shocked when the curse appeared but hopeful that druidic magic might provide an answer. Obviously, he and the other Gilneans failed. After regaining his mind many years later - given how the pre-curse event is DURING the scourge attacks on Lordearon - he felt like he'd been given a second chance not only to live his life and find out what happened in the time that passed but also to see how much the elves were willing to teach him, all the while being a smart-mouth who loves Kaldorei Kabobs. I find this to avoid pretty much all tropes. :)
I’d build a Worgen Mage, one who studies “Moon” magic and practices the Druidic Rituals of nocturnal life. My backstory would be an academic of the ancient spirits of the night.
I thought another way to rp it, but the lack of knowledge on the lore of gilneas makes it difficult, but here: Aggressive/cocky as an worgen, cool and friendly as a human, he/she only transformed when there's a need to fight 'cause he's not that strong as a simple human...what do you guys think?
My Worgen is a former Gilnean city guard marksman but he was dishonorably discharged since he left his patrol to die in an ambush. After that he became very depressed and wanted to commit suicide but didn't His main quest in Azeroth is to get his honor back
Also if you named your worgan character worgan style like me and felt bad for doing so after the the very logical naming point from this guide, you could just have your worgan sounding name as a nickname you go by or are known by. Up to you

Where is akama is WoD? he lived in Karabor his entire life and then we had the orcs invading and then the demons and then we had illidan take over. All he wanted was peace for his temple and he takes a major part in the lore since he is the betrayer of the betrayer in our time.In WoD I haven't even seen or heard him. Could you please explain where is he and what is hes doing in WoD?
In WoD you see Akama on the alliance side, I was actually happily surprised to see him. Alliance side he is a normal draenei, and they actually show how he got the scythes he uses! I will not spoil it for you, but make an alliance char, level him to 90, and then make your garrison quests to build it up!
Ok you very briefly went over the worgen druid, and I had a question is there a specific personality that goes well with them? Mine has a split personality and I'm wondering if that's a bad idea for a druid.
My rogues are never thiefs or gangsters... My rogues are either assassins or noble assassins (SI:7 but not in the hero way) and they kill people that are dangerous but they wont listen to the army but they have a very high respect for the king. Like lonley wolfes that do the right thing but still in their own way.

Worgen are very fun to play, especially when you delve out of the box. Gilneas has been in the WoW lore since the beginning of Warcraft 1, as one of the human kingdoms like Stormwind, Lorderon, Stratholme, ect. Now Gilneas is a very weird mix of cultures. At first you would assume, "ah, British! of course! Tea and crumpets here I come!" But that's not really the full story. Gilneas as a province is definitely Germany, with the Black Forest, and Brothers Grimm being obvious influences. However, their architecture is a mix of Victorian England and Russian, exemplified by the prevalence of domes and arches. Why does this matter? You can play a worgen "accurately" as any northern European. German and Russian accents are fun to write out in text, and will make people double-take. Family names and last names come incredible easy as well, As names like "Knight" sound like a very forced concept in english, but in German translate to "Ritter," which at least to me, sounds better and is much more subtle to native-English speakers. But you must always remember the number one rule of Roleplay: Have Fun. There's nothing stopping you from playing a worgen something different entirely. To have a very effective roleplay, try acting it out in a mirror, writing down your characters goals, aspirations, demeanor, history. Carry some little flavour items around with you, my mage always carries a pocket watch, various blank books for writing, and a well-used pipe. A rogue could carry a wallet and a few extra knives. A hunter could carry a spyglass for lookout missions or sniping. You could always use a blanket for sleeping out in the woods or under the stars. Don't be afraid to engage people. I like to set up campfires in the wilderness when i'm taking a break from questing or waiting for a cue. When I see someone walk by, I call to them, invite them over, and try to start a conversation. Once we had around twelve people all drinking cheap ale and sharing recent adventures. All-in-all, this is a great guide and general video for lore, have fun experimenting with Roleplay!

I'm planning on create a Worgen who is possessed by a demon/spirit (idk), maybe having the split personality. For an example: He already posses the curse but the demon manifest through the beast form (taking advantage of his agressive side) giving him a life of its own with warlock powers. How does it sound?
Could there be a Gilnean be a part of the Alliance, then head back to her/his home before the 2nd war and still have his military title in the ranks of the Alliance?
Is Mikel a London-ish name? My character is a Worgen warrior. He was, for a big part of his life, a normal Gilnean. But. During the evacuation of Gilneas, in the rush of it all, I tripped, and was trampled on. Nearly every single Gilnean ran over me and evacuated. I was left inside Gilneas. Stuck. Locked inside. I didn't make it very long. Big surprise, it's not easy to be the only person in a kingdom of werewolves. I was still hobbling, slowly, may I add. I was taken by surprise, and bitten by a Worgen. The transformation was beginning. Fur, slowly growing from my skin. My nails getting longer and longer. My skin getting darker. Next thing you know, I have become a Worgen. But, it wasn't all bad. The transformation had healed me. It made me better. At the cost of my humanity. I made it out of Gilneas with the benefits of the wolf form. As I was wandering the lands, I ran into a strange person. He had green hair. His skin was purple. He took me to a tree. A hollowed out one.
Through their rituals, for the first time in a long time, I could feel a consciousness. I had humanity again. I was human again. I then learned that they were a race called the Night Elves. They had helped me control the beast. I at that moment knew what I had to do. I had to return to the Gilneans. Where ever they are. When I finally found them, in night elf lands, my close friends were amazed. "YOU'RE ALIVE!!!" I had then joined the Gilnean army, which had taught me the skills and techniques to improve upon my new Worgen abilities. It was also at army training, that I discovered something. There were more like me. When I got out of military, I had focused my life on working with others like me, to defeat the forces of the lich King, and the evil ways of the horde.
My Worgen's personality is one a split personality. I am calm and collective as a human, but when I turn into a Worgen, I become uncontrollable. My speak becomes gibberish battle cries. There is no stopping me. Only I can stop me. But even then, it is still quite difficult to get my Worgen back in line.
You mispronounced Genn. The G makes a geh sound, not a jeh sound. Start a Worgen sometime if you haven't before, the name is spoken multiple times in the starting area.

The worgen I play as arn't from Gilneas. He is from Theremore and was married to a draenei. Is that lore breaking? Hope not cause i like the story i gave him.

In fact, yes, it would be Far Fetched.. Being born in Theramore, you wouldnt have had the opportunity to get into Gilneas, and if you got bitten in Theramore, the chances that you were the only one are null, simply because worgens are just too fast for normal men to capture them (it annoys me that every single person is as fast and as strong or stronger than worgens. Ralaar said they were superior, I mean COME ON, it's LORE) So, ASSUMING all that, the chances that they kept you alive once you were caught (if you were caught) are extremely low to none, and the night elves could not cure you from ferality on Kalimdor, as they needed the scythe and the tree to make you able to reason. So being from Theramore as a worgen would assume that ; Ralaar was, in fact, in Theramore, and not in Gilneas. There were worgens near Theramore You were the only one bitten (because I have yet to meet someone who went to say ''I'm a worgen from theramore'') You were not put down by those who caught you You either controlled yourself to become human from the beginning (It is impossible. Like literally) or that you were caught and then brought to Gilneas (Which would be hard and unlikely, as it would require transport by ship. Forget transporting you on a gryphon ; you're a feral, bloodthirsty beast that can easily overpower a dozen men and outrun a horse, has superhuman regenerative capabilities, 7 cm long claws that can render steel, and the senses and reflexes of a wolf. No current race aside from greater ones can beat worgens in a one on one fist fight) So long as everything is fun and fine for everyone, nothing is wrong, but if you want to RP that, you'll need to read TONS of lore and then find in somewhere some technicality that may allow that, otherwise, people will tell you that your story is too far fetched to be realistic, lorewise, and they will reject you, or they will keep trying to change your story.

i chose to roleplay as a cowardly and lil racist rookie human soldier who started terrified of his new form but as i levelled him he became more accepting and friendly of his form and other cultures becoming laid back and confident love giving my characters story arcs :)
You screwed up on the personalities and also not all worgen were human some were night elves and the pack form was a wolf not a humanoid wolf which was a change thanks to the Scythe of Elune, also there is not Split-Personality as the worgen curse (except for the village outside Shadowfang King prior to cataclysm) normally doesn't allow those inflicted to turn back into their original forms also the Worgen Form is marked as their true form and all players end up fighting in it while only Genn Greymane is shown to have the ability to fight in both Human and Worgen form and he normally fights in Human form as he's affriad (he didn't do the Druid Ritual like the others did) he'll lose himself to it and will go feral losing his mind completely.
+Molly Rogan Most worgens I meet stay mostly in human form, but it depends on how your character views his/her curse. Most don't flaunt their worgen form around, but turn into a worgen when shit hits the fan. Others do however stay in their worgen form all the time. You can completly decide this for yourself, just try to be consistent.
Give me feed back a worgen Mage that in his worgen form think that Glineas is doomed and hates the night elves for causing this in his human form he seeks a way to free all worgen from the curse

+Daphnie “Djzoro” Morphew as soon as you use any ability you become a worgen, even though you haven't technically become one yet. Also you aren't put in horses when you should be, so you have to run through hordes of worgen. And the cutscene at the end of the starting zone doesn't play

The Worgen starting zone is my favorite along with the Forsaken. My Worgen rogue was a Gilnaen street urchin adopted by a bunch of bandits and they'd use her to "bait" merchant wagons for robberies and taught her how to pickpocket and throw knives. Worgen rogue is insanely fun to play, and you get two speed boost abilities in Dark Flight (racial) and Sprint (class)!
I'm also a Worgen Rougue. And I need make a history for my self.
I've got a worgen rogue. She's not really in my RPs yet because I still need to level her and set up her backstory.
I love the little huts/ins and just let my character sit down and look at all the decorations but I never role play because i feel juged
How do I explain that my Worgen is a pirate in the most lore friendly way possible?
Mine is a worgen druid. He have a calm childhood. He learned music from the Gilneas priests. İn his 16, he losts his parents. After 1 year, (ft. While in the starting area time) he finds out he is a worgen. Few weeks, he is trying to control the curse. After 1 month, he can be himself again. A few days, he live in a cave. After a few days, souls whispers him to find the druid in the woods. After a few day, he found a old night elf druid. After meeting, old druid starts to train him and help to became a druid for 2 years.

The serum that was used was only temporary. Later in the questing you come across a group of Night Elves that help you actually control your form. Until that quest you can't change back into human form, and are stuck as a Worgen.

Worgen is one of the best races I love. It may not have a good strategy like racial ability, but they are quite amazing. Even though people call me a furry because of being a Worgen, but I accept being a Worgen. They are great looking in most armors. Also, they look amazing in some of the uncommon gear of Cata. Especially the Black Leather Set. were you see the Feral Worgen wearing amazing black armor.

If you really want to RP a Worgen Death Knight and cant wait until Mr. Doron finishes his series you can ask me questions, this is one topic I'm willing to answer questions about, but here are some really basic rules:
1)You are locked into Worgen form, because either you are a generation 1.0 Worgen DK or 2.0, the first generation is fully feral, uncontrolled, and the second is semi-feral, with some will power, but still under both curses.
2) You are from Lordaeron if you choose 2nd gen, if you choose 1st, you are one of the original worgen that where summoned by Arugal.
3) The worgen curse counters the DK curse to some degree, now that Arthas is dead, so you have a little moré freedom than other DKs (You dont need to cause pain to survive, but you can still pull that off)
PS: as you can name your worgen with a human name, just like Doron said, you can also use a Druid name, depends on what type of worgen you choose (Mine is Belinda Sorrowbreeze, 2nd gen worgen from Lordaeron)
PS2: this rules are just BASIC suggestions, you dont need to strictly follow them, if you have a doubt about something, ask me or wait until Doron does his DK RP guide, have a nice day with your Role Play :3!!

Here are some random thoughts: (This is ROUGHLY what you need to know about those Class/Race combos, just as with the Worgen one, this AREN'T strict rules that you need to follow, meaning that you can change some stuff, the fun of Role Playing lies within the story/character development that you do)
I) Night Elf Mage: They used to be at the peak of NE society, they where once called the "Highborne." Until 10k years ago, when the Well of Eternity was used to summon the legion, they are now looked down upon by the rest of their society, at some point, they where exiled, now they've been recently re-introduced to their society.
1) Your character is extremely Old, He/She is over 10k years. (Mostly because the practice of arcane magic is banned in their society, and the Highborne are the last users of that magic)
2)Your character used to live in Queen Azshara's Palace at Zin-Azshari, now either lives in Darnassus or any other Alliance settlement where magic is being practiced.
3)Your character used to be one of the most respected members of NE society, now most NEs still think they shouldn't be considered part of their society, others respect the Highborne, but they think as if they where normal/common NEs. Some Highborne accepted that their world has changed and now see it with normal eyes, others still think highly of themselves, but those are mostly "unwanted" by the other races because of their high self-esteem and selfishness.
II) Night Elf Druid: I've personally thought that Pre-Wc3 Druids where only male, and recently females became druids, but a few items suggest that Druids also accepted females on their ranks, now lets start with the suggestions:
1)Your character may be young or extremely Old, from about 200 to over 10k years.
2)Your character could be from any of the Old NE cities. Here are some: Zin-Azshari(The Capital, where the Queen's palace rested), Suramar, Vashj'ir, etc.
3)He/She is a respected member of the NE community, their personality is commonly Passive, but if something endangers the balance of the nature or threatens them directly, they will act, and they wont back down easily from a fight. Druids as we know, are extremely connected to the emerald dream, and they don't believe that something is purely evil, they believe evil can be redeemed. Their normal reaction to something or someone that alters the balance is an Aggressive one (Unless that someone's intentions aren't evil)
What about forsaken death knight like me which I completed the starting zone back in wrath as a cold hearted mercilish killing machine

i hate to necro an old post but... 1st generation DK were the orc warlocks forcing their spirits into the bodies of human knights. 2nd generation started with Arthas taking up frostmourne and any death knights he created in his rise to the mantle of Lich King. 3rd Generation are the first wave of Death Knights that we get to play (every race not including the Allied races from Legion/BFA) and these are fallen heroes raised in service of the Lich King. This usually means forced into servitude and is an important distinction
4th Generation is the second wave of Death Knights which includes the base races and the allied races as is entirely voluntary recruits.
Having typed these out i see HEAVY similarities between the generations of DK's and the generations of Spartans from Halo... (first generation not included from either)

I never played worgens all that much, but since I started getting into their lore and story they seem to be one of my favorite races now, because their story is so unique compared to others. :D
Doronsmovies To me Gilneans are one of the most strong patriotic races of the Alliance that can compete in fact of aggressivity and faction-pride with the Horde. I love roleplaying as one and the battles are usually something epic, expecially with the werewolf flavor. Also, sorry for the grammar nazi but please, plural of Worgen is Worgen, not Worgens.

Quick correction: the Greymane wall was built after the 2nd war. Not between the 1st and 2nd. The 1st and 2nd war often get confused as one bleeds directly into the other. 1st war was the siege and destruction of Stormwind, and the 2nd was the formation of the original alliance of lorderon, which gilneas was very much a part of, and the subsequent pushing back of the orcs into Dreanor. It was in the aftermath of the 2nd war when Greymane squabbled with Teranas over the cost of the Orc internment camps that Gilneas left the alliance and erected the Greymane wall. The. There was the 3rd war which is just the events of Warcraft 3 where Gilneas is mostly safely tucked behind their wall, and leave the rest of the human kingdoms to fall to the scourge, hence why Varion is pretty pissed and reluctant to allow gilneas to join the new alliance at the beginning of wolf heart.
I was looking for commentary on this. Thank you! it would've thrown a wrench into my characters history by having the wall go up between the 1st and 2nd War.

If you Rp a worgan warlock like me, because of the absolute iron will and control of a warlock, it makes it natural to pull off perfect control of worgen form without having to be peaceful in nature like this guide.
Worgen Mages are particularly fun, in my opinion. Mine's a battle mage, taking full advantage of the increased size, strength, and durability of the worgen form.
Sorry doron but you are a little bit wrong. Yes krwnnan made the potion to control your worgen form but they dont work like this now. They can control themselves because of the night elf ritual. You can see ot around 10lvl in worgen startong area.
You could perhaps make it to where your character never really learned control, if you're going for the Split-Personality option.
A dingo is an Australian wild dog with blonde fur. So a Dingen is a cousin counterpart of the British Worgen? A blood elf worgen may be a Fox version and orc as a pitbull or rottweiler variant.

Something I tried is the "controlled Anger" when you, perhaps with the help of a shaman or druid or pandaren, larn to use your natural rage and bloodthirts in combat. Eaither as perhaps a prowlig Rouge who uses fist weapons, allowing you to use your natural claws while useing the fist weapons. Another idea that i used and was taken quite well was that my worgen used his natural rage to make himself stronger, pushing his muscles almost to their limits, and becoming strong enough to pick up a tauren, with full Heavy armor over his head and throw them. Its fun to be creative, and you don't even need to be Aggresive aggresive when you play that role, as you can simply say that you feel the anger, the snarling rage, and you allow it to come out, but your fully in Control, and not clouded by the rage.

The very first Warcraft game was called ',Orcs and Humans'', word for word.
So of course they will put the emphasis on the two basic races, the two races that they started this with.
Most Fantasies start off with Humans vs Orcs, with Orcs being bad and blah blah blah, but the main thing I like about WoW is it did not make the Orcs into the bad guys, they made them into just another race trying to claim their place in a world where they never will be accepted simply for the color of their skin and their tribal ways.

I was so sad that worgens were alliance. I play horde only but... I could not resist making one. I dont play my worgen often, but i LOVE it whenever I do. There is something truly special about them.
Just transmogrify your alliance tabard into a Horde tabard. I did that for my male Worgen Warrior, Reksar, and my Female Worgen Rogue, Loona the Hell Worgen.
I like that picture of the Worgen hunter I don't know why but I do, I'd like Gnomes and Goblins. They seem like they would be very very fun to roleplay as! love your theme by the way!
Any chance you could elaborate a bit more on Worgen druidism (especially what a 'Harvest Witch' is) in an upcoming video? Or maybe just the different types of religion in Azeroth? Like how the Light is treated by different races, compared to different types of druidism or shamanism etc... I think that would be especially interesting!
+Megami Yari Long ago humans had some interest in nature magics but all of that got shunned once they embraced the Light. Some Gilnean still kept the knowledge which was very useful. Gilneas was isolated so the harvest witches would accelerate the growth of the crops and improve the environment around them. It just basic druidism.
Unfortunately there is not much lore on harvest witches(non-gender specific term) or the magics/religion they practice, the Old Ways. They are based of Celtic Druids, so read up on them if you want to roleplay one.

Here is a W.I.P backstory for my character "Coya-MoonGuard" :) Enjoy!One crisp morning, within the walls of Gilneas, in the cryptic depths of Gilneas City, there lied a violent problem, spreading like wildfire. There were rabid, towering, beastly beings of brute strength known as worgen. Harsh, peircing claws, large bristling, mangled grey fur. A true menacing appearence on a worgen's face. An itimidating grin that will bring fear to anyone whom lived to see it. Bloodstained teeth, deep brown threatening eyes. They come in packs, packs in the thousands. They come, for fresh meat: the Gilneans.*_____________________________________________________________________________*
Many people were caught in bloody slaughter of a worgen's inescapable claws or jaws, yet many survived. Although there was not an abundance of the Gilnean military left. Mercenaries were hired. One of the Gilneans, her name is Coya Freerunner. Coya is a young tall lengthy figure with long black hair and hazel eyes. Coya had a tranquill life-mostly. Coya began her life with a populous family, she had an effortless(to her) and accessable job as a blacksmith. Constructing and designing armour as a living, making a superb amout of income. As she mined and made armour and weapons, she also made time for her family. Coya had many brothers and sisters, as usual they would fight over the smallest of things. Their parents took them out to see all of Gilneas city from time to time, buy them whatever they wanted, Coya and her siblings were very spoiled. The Freerunners were a rich family. They built their wealth from the ground up with hard work and smarts. Coya and her kinfolk walked out at adulthood to go start a new life for themselves.

Of course Coya also visited her family as did her kin time to time, as stated before. Coya lived in a small almost apartment like house that came in a white-cream color, three windows, a tightly squeezed in door, and a fireplace for warmth in the winter and possibly fall. She decided on a small house not because it was all she could afford, but all she needed. Starting out her life was a little tough for Coya, as it was for any adult. Taxes, food, etc...... She wanted an animal; company; a pet.*________________________________________________________________*
Loud screams of agony scattered across the sky above Gilneas, followed by long howls, the worgen were here. Coya's eyes widened a little and her eyebrows perked up, alerted by the sudden sound. She put down the book she was reading, then peered out the window, pushing the blinds out of the way. She didn't see anything, so she stayed inside and kept reading. A hard clopping sound was heard from afar, clop clop clop, the annoying noise grew louder and louder, Coya shrugged it off and stilled wondered: What the hell is going on? Worgen can't ride horses, can they? I assume there are horses... The men atop horses yelled at the top of their lungs "Lock your doors, lock your windows, hide your wife, children, husband! Man your weapons! The mongrels that are the worgen are here!" Everyone was scared. Gilneas still needed heros, though. An intense banging filled Coya's ears. It was coming from her door. Coya nervously gazed at the door as she slowly walked twards it, the constant banging didn't stop.... Who could this be?*____________________________________________________________________*
Coya opened the door to reveal a moderate heighted man with quite robust muscles and an enormous mustache with an ivy cap lying on his head, as well as two rather large sword looking blades strapped to his belt. This man looked up at Coya, held out his hand and said "Hello, I am Samy Drace, I am here to help evacuate people from the great threat that is the worgen". Coya accepted the friendly gesture and shook his hand and replied "Hello back to you, Samy, I am Coya Freerunner. Where will I be taken?" Samy responded with a worried expression, looking down at his feet, afraid that Coya would not want to leave so far away from all of her precious belongings. Then lifted his head back up to met his eyes with Coya's. "Listen, Coya, I am just doing my job.. but if you want to stay at your home and hearth, you can. I am only doing this for your and all Gilnean's saftey." Coya faced Samy with this almost confused look, and then shrugged her shoulders. " I don't know, Samy. I knew the worgen were here: the howling, people's.. deaths(at least I think so)? The alarming yelling? It is quite self-evident! If I was living in fear of them I would have departed before you even arrived! I can take these kind of matters into my own hand!" Samy crinkled his face a little and motioned his brows to a more annoyed postion. "So be it. Good day, I was just trying to bo nice." Samy nodded farewell along a small friendly smile developed on his face as he ambled into the shadows.*_________________________________________________________________________*

What you mentioned about accents there is an addon called Tongues that might help with RP cause you can actually change your accent with that so that when you say something it will change the spelling to that accent
The lore i always understood was that Worgens was the results of Druids going nuts after trying to use the forbidden wolf form as the spirit of goldrinn tends to make them hostile.
Another one is that Worgens are the children of goldrinn, like the sisters and sons of cenarius are the children of Cenarius and The harpies are the children of Aviana.
Doron, some worgen embrace the curse as a blessing almost and change their last name to fit the curse (referring to 9:30)
I think doing the split personality back words would be really good, Like in human form you feel un-natural as if the worgen curse has taken most of your spirit. You could act nervous, lie, make excuses and venture off alone just to be a worgen and when your in worgen form you are more relaxed and set back, you feel natural. Being a worgen could be like a drug to your character and you would do anything to get it.
I would prefer if like there were another voice in your head apart from your own, and decisions have to be made with both sides reaching an agreement.

My Outlaw Rogue is a Worgen that stays in human form a lot of the time, but when someone says "Hey, worgen" or something like that, he will not be afraid to shoot or slice at you. When this happens, if they're alone, they'll go worgen and seriously threaten you.
Another thing is that occasionally, both in day and night, they'll experience sharp pains in the back and legs, and will stumble outside, into wild, and go worgen and run away.
Like far away. Maybe even through entire zones. But when they are exhausted, they'll go human, and collapse for a while, and when they wake up they'll start panicking and start hitting things, and scratching things, all around it, while screaming.
What's your opinions?

Would roleplaying as a Worgen who has purposefully chosen or been forced to by lack of control to always be in their wolf form be a bad idea. I just imagine a character, probably most suiting a hunter, who has been in his/her wolf form for so long that they can't return to human form. Again, either because they have embraced the wolf and find it thrilling, thus they don't want to return to being human, and now they no longer can. Or because they have lost control and become feral. I couldn't help but get this idea but wonder if maybe it'd be too corny or stupid or lore breaking? Any thoughts?

and if i had to use this video as a example of how my Worgen character is, it'd probably be a mix between calm and aggressive. he can control himself, but he's definitely alot meaner than he normally would be.
I play my worgen as former human from Pyrewood. When the Gilneans fled and the gates were left wide open, He stumbled upon a crate full of the serum that gave him his consciousness back. Although he's a rogue, who uses natural claws (Transmogged swords), he was also an alchemist, and reverse engineered the serum to create more. He can't transform, but his serum lasts him a week, unless it's a full moon, then he has to triple the dosage to avoid going completely feral... As far as naming, I use the phonetic spelling of his first name, and no last name. He can't remember it...

+Kenji 1987 (Kenji87) Leaving aside subjective assessments of the US, Gilneas is a monarchy with a very hierarchical aristocratic society with a distinctly old world flavour which doesn't fit very well with the more open, meritocratic society of the States. A closer in-game comparison to the fluid US social system where ability trumps pedigree and success is rewarded might be the Goblin society (and not just because of the whole Nu Yoik aesthetic). Anyone with the right skills can become Trade Prince, but the main qualifying characteristic of the kings of Gilneas is their blood ties to the previous occupant of the throne.

Another personality trait as a worgen could be a person who refuses to accept the fact that he is a worgen and always stays in his human form.
I play an optimistic, curious and smart-mouth worgen druid.
Young fellow who showed interest in nature-magic and spent a lot of times tending farms, vineyards and forests. Got really shocked when the curse appeared but hopeful that druidic magic might provide an answer. Obviously, he and the other Gilneans failed.
After regaining his mind many years later - given how the pre-curse event is DURING the scourge attacks on Lordearon - he felt like he'd been given a second chance not only to live his life and find out what happened in the time that passed but also to see how much the elves were willing to teach him, all the while being a smart-mouth who loves Kaldorei Kabobs.
I find this to avoid pretty much all tropes. :)
I’d build a Worgen Mage, one who studies “Moon” magic and practices the Druidic Rituals of nocturnal life.
My backstory would be an academic of the ancient spirits of the night.
I thought another way to rp it, but the lack of knowledge on the lore of gilneas makes it difficult, but here: Aggressive/cocky as an worgen, cool and friendly as a human, he/she only transformed when there's a need to fight 'cause he's not that strong as a simple human...what do you guys think?

My Worgen is a former Gilnean city guard marksman but he was dishonorably discharged since he left his patrol to die in an ambush. After that he became very depressed and wanted to commit suicide but didn't His main quest in Azeroth is to get his honor back
Also if you named your worgan character worgan style like me and felt bad for doing so after the the very logical naming point from this guide, you could just have your worgan sounding name as a nickname you go by or are known by. Up to you

Where is akama is WoD? he lived in Karabor his entire life and then we had the orcs invading and then the demons and then we had illidan take over. All he wanted was peace for his temple and he takes a major part in the lore since he is the betrayer of the betrayer in our time.In WoD I haven't even seen or heard him. Could you please explain where is he and what is hes doing in WoD?
In WoD you see Akama on the alliance side, I was actually happily surprised to see him. Alliance side he is a normal draenei, and they actually show how he got the scythes he uses! I will not spoil it for you, but make an alliance char, level him to 90, and then make your garrison quests to build it up!

Ok you very briefly went over the worgen druid, and I had a question is there a specific personality that goes well with them? Mine has a split personality and I'm wondering if that's a bad idea for a druid.
My rogues are never thiefs or gangsters... My rogues are either assassins or noble assassins (SI:7 but not in the hero way) and they kill people that are dangerous but they wont listen to the army but they have a very high respect for the king. Like lonley wolfes that do the right thing but still in their own way.

Worgen are very fun to play, especially when you delve out of the box.
Gilneas has been in the WoW lore since the beginning of Warcraft 1, as one of the human kingdoms like Stormwind, Lorderon, Stratholme, ect.
Now Gilneas is a very weird mix of cultures. At first you would assume, "ah, British! of course! Tea and crumpets here I come!" But that's not really the full story. Gilneas as a province is definitely Germany, with the Black Forest, and Brothers Grimm being obvious influences. However, their architecture is a mix of Victorian England and Russian, exemplified by the prevalence of domes and arches.
Why does this matter? You can play a worgen "accurately" as any northern European. German and Russian accents are fun to write out in text, and will make people double-take. Family names and last names come incredible easy as well, As names like "Knight" sound like a very forced concept in english, but in German translate to "Ritter," which at least to me, sounds better and is much more subtle to native-English speakers.
But you must always remember the number one rule of Roleplay: Have Fun. There's nothing stopping you from playing a worgen something different entirely.
To have a very effective roleplay, try acting it out in a mirror, writing down your characters goals, aspirations, demeanor, history.
Carry some little flavour items around with you, my mage always carries a pocket watch, various blank books for writing, and a well-used pipe.
A rogue could carry a wallet and a few extra knives. A hunter could carry a spyglass for lookout missions or sniping. You could always use a blanket for sleeping out in the woods or under the stars.
Don't be afraid to engage people. I like to set up campfires in the wilderness when i'm taking a break from questing or waiting for a cue. When I see someone walk by, I call to them, invite them over, and try to start a conversation. Once we had around twelve people all drinking cheap ale and sharing recent adventures.
All-in-all, this is a great guide and general video for lore, have fun experimenting with Roleplay!

I'm planning on create a Worgen who is possessed by a demon/spirit (idk), maybe having the split personality. For an example: He already posses the curse but the demon manifest through the beast form (taking advantage of his agressive side) giving him a life of its own with warlock powers.
How does it sound?
My rp is similar. He is somewhat "volatile" in his cursed form, to the point that he is a danger to his allies if he gets lost in the fight

My character is a Worgen warrior. He was, for a big part of his life, a normal Gilnean. But. During the evacuation of Gilneas, in the rush of it all, I tripped, and was trampled on. Nearly every single Gilnean ran over me and evacuated. I was left inside Gilneas. Stuck. Locked inside. I didn't make it very long. Big surprise, it's not easy to be the only person in a kingdom of werewolves. I was still hobbling, slowly, may I add. I was taken by surprise, and bitten by a Worgen. The transformation was beginning. Fur, slowly growing from my skin. My nails getting longer and longer. My skin getting darker. Next thing you know, I have become a Worgen. But, it wasn't all bad. The transformation had healed me. It made me better. At the cost of my humanity. I made it out of Gilneas with the benefits of the wolf form. As I was wandering the lands, I ran into a strange person. He had green hair. His skin was purple. He took me to a tree. A hollowed out one.
Through their rituals, for the first time in a long time, I could feel a consciousness. I had humanity again. I was human again. I then learned that they were a race called the Night Elves. They had helped me control the beast. I at that moment knew what I had to do. I had to return to the Gilneans. Where ever they are. When I finally found them, in night elf lands, my close friends were amazed. "YOU'RE ALIVE!!!" I had then joined the Gilnean army, which had taught me the skills and techniques to improve upon my new Worgen abilities. It was also at army training, that I discovered something. There were more like me. When I got out of military, I had focused my life on working with others like me, to defeat the forces of the lich King, and the evil ways of the horde.
My Worgen's personality is one a split personality. I am calm and collective as a human, but when I turn into a Worgen, I become uncontrollable. My speak becomes gibberish battle cries. There is no stopping me. Only I can stop me. But even then, it is still quite difficult to get my Worgen back in line.

You mispronounced Genn. The G makes a geh sound, not a jeh sound. Start a Worgen sometime if you haven't before, the name is spoken multiple times in the starting area.

Personally, I think you would be best to play on an official server and pay your subs with in-game gold.
Mine is fine with his worgen form but push him to far he gets mad and can't stop until back to human form.

The worgen I play as arn't from Gilneas. He is from Theremore and was married to a draenei. Is that lore breaking? Hope not cause i like the story i gave him.
I think it's legit to be from Theramore and be bitten afterwards, although I personally dislike multi race relationships.

In fact, yes, it would be Far Fetched.. Being born in Theramore, you wouldnt have had the opportunity to get into Gilneas, and if you got bitten in Theramore, the chances that you were the only one are null, simply because worgens are just too fast for normal men to capture them (it annoys me that every single person is as fast and as strong or stronger than worgens. Ralaar said they were superior, I mean COME ON, it's LORE)
So, ASSUMING all that, the chances that they kept you alive once you were caught (if you were caught) are extremely low to none, and the night elves could not cure you from ferality on Kalimdor, as they needed the scythe and the tree to make you able to reason.
So being from Theramore as a worgen would assume that ; Ralaar was, in fact, in Theramore, and not in Gilneas.

You were the only one bitten (because I have yet to meet someone who went to say ''I'm a worgen from theramore'')
You were not put down by those who caught you
You either controlled yourself to become human from the beginning (It is impossible. Like literally) or that you were caught and then brought to Gilneas (Which would be hard and unlikely, as it would require transport by ship. Forget transporting you on a gryphon ; you're a feral, bloodthirsty beast that can easily overpower a dozen men and outrun a horse, has superhuman regenerative capabilities, 7 cm long claws that can render steel, and the senses and reflexes of a wolf. No current race aside from greater ones can beat worgens in a one on one fist fight)
So long as everything is fun and fine for everyone, nothing is wrong, but if you want to RP that, you'll need to read TONS of lore and then find in somewhere some technicality that may allow that, otherwise, people will tell you that your story is too far fetched to be realistic, lorewise, and they will reject you, or they will keep trying to change your story.

Moonguard always has stormwind full of great roleplayers. Just don't go into goldshire. That's where moonguard gets its bad reputation.

i chose to roleplay as a cowardly and lil racist rookie human soldier who started terrified of his new form but as i levelled him he became more accepting and friendly of his form and other cultures becoming laid back and confident love giving my characters story arcs :)
why is it that goblins and worgens are the only non playable monks in the game?
You screwed up on the personalities and also not all worgen were human some were night elves and the pack form was a wolf not a humanoid wolf which was a change thanks to the Scythe of Elune, also there is not Split-Personality as the worgen curse (except for the village outside Shadowfang King prior to cataclysm) normally doesn't allow those inflicted to turn back into their original forms also the Worgen Form is marked as their true form and all players end up fighting in it while only Genn Greymane is shown to have the ability to fight in both Human and Worgen form and he normally fights in Human form as he's affriad (he didn't do the Druid Ritual like the others did) he'll lose himself to it and will go feral losing his mind completely.

+Molly Rogan Worgen. You can change into your human form out of combat, but once you get into combat, you transform back into your worgen form.
+Molly Rogan Most worgens I meet stay mostly in human form, but it depends on how your character views his/her curse. Most don't flaunt their worgen form around, but turn into a worgen when shit hits the fan. Others do however stay in their worgen form all the time. You can completly decide this for yourself, just try to be consistent.
