I always thought that night elves who decended from a group of trolls who lived near the well of eternity learned how to use strands of magic made from the well which is the life essence of the world soul.
I've always headcannoned that the Trolls just kinda learned Arcane magic on their own and perform it in their own unique way. Gives the race some shine because while everyone else was getting hand-me-down magic from elves, the Troll were like "Yeah, we don't need that, we've got our own."
Loved the vid Doron! Mage is one of my favorite classes in the game lore wise, they are just so cool! Honestly any of them next would be great to me because I just love these videos ^^
Noice guide as always! Got me thinking about the possibilities of a panda Mage. I'd recommend rogues for the next guide as I believe you haven't done one on them yet and I've had trouble before trying to fit their affinity for shadow into plausible roleplay. Keep up the good work!
Nex Most likely will do monks next, but everything should be finish soon since I only have 3 guys left to finish in this series. Monks, rogues and hunters.
XxSMOKERxX35 They need to learn it and practice it. They also need very good patience if they want to learn the powers of the Arcane since that's kinda a very dangerous energy if they can't handle it.
Great guide, i learnt a lot about the Magi. In your upcoming monk rp guide can you also explain the celestial beings (the ones from pandaria). Because I'm guessing your going to go over the Mogu and everything, so using the celestial's to explain the different stances would explain a lot for me. Thanks for all your great vids love the warcraft lore!! keep it up!! :D
A mist/chi lore video would be awesome, I know how chi works and why, but whats exactly the mist? The emperor used it to hide pandaria from the world and monks use it to heal, dispell, and shield. Its some sort of magic? or a life energy like chi? Thanks man, have a great day.
It was actually confirmed in WoD that Draenei are not immortal, just extremely long-lived. Only Velen is immortal but the rest of them are descedants of the original draenei who left Argus.
Another comment said that the Mogu knew arcane really well, Pandaren have stolen lots of stuff from Mogu so it's not unlikely that Pandaren would be mages. As well as the fact that they now have access to arcane because they've been exposed to the entirety of Azeroth.
I can't believe it, you didn't mention the real guardians of magic and anything about the blue dragonflight. Malygos was the only one who introduce and teach how to be a mage (first of all to the night elves). Plus, the nexus war between Dalaran and Coldarra is an important part of the mages story
Actually a group of trolls wandered azeroth and settled near the well of eternity and became night elves and learned how to tap into the well of eternity. Before the suffering. I don't think they ever met malygos.
Excuse if I'm wrong, but didn't the night elves started calling themselves like that after The Sundering, before that, they were just the Highborne and Kal'dorei, after the Sundering they refused to keep using arcane magic, but only after that they became the night elves?
Vicente P The Night elves always call themselves the Kaldorei, they don't use the world night elf in the lore (in the game it's a different case though). Kaldorei means children of the stars. I don't remember where the word night elves come in.
V P Kaldorei were always their name. That means Children of the Stars in darnassian. Highborne were the Night Elves who were the elite class favored by the one and only Queen Azshara. But they were still Kaldorei in the darnassian language.
So as a Night Elf Mage, would I be looked down on if I were to walk through Darnassus? It kind of sounds like it is accepted but mostly out of necessity... Doronsmovies
There are many NE's willing to accept their bretheren, but most are still scarred by the Highborne, so its a back and forth thingie, if you dont mention you practice the Arcane inside Darnassus, you are good to go.
Vitaliy Krivoruk Not really, they are a lot more accepting then they were before. But still parading the use of arcane magic is not exactly the best thing to do.
Dwarf Mages where taken out during Vanilla until Cata because of Faction balance, Dwarf Mages would make the Alliance have 1 more race/class combo than the Horde.
What? Trolls turned into nightelves, then some of them turned into highborne which later got exiled. The exiled highborne are what we now call bloodelves if I'm not mistaken.
Kevin Karakaya I explained that as a main part of the video. Trolls evolved into night elves. Some of them were exiled for the use of arcane magic and later on turned into high elves.
There isnt much to now BE prefer fire, human and HE prefer frost, anyway fire and frost are just a branc of the evocation school which where probably invented from azshara, the arcane is just pure energy
pancrazio de consuelo It's stated that when the High Elves taught the Humans magic they had a natural affinity for fire magic greater than that of the High Elves which helped them defeat the Amani Trolls because it stopped their regeneration. Humans prefer fire because of its uncontrollable, raw power and HE prefer frost because its controllable and accurate. I did make one mistake however, after they split from the High Elves, the Blood Elves also took to using more fire magic than frost magic. I just assumed since HE and BE are nearly identical they used the same type of magic as well. wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Mage_races
Yep we both made a mistake, i assumed that humans prefer frost intead of fire because of their friendship with HE and especially because of jaina who uses only frost spells. Anyway i belive that humans being significantly more in number than the other mage races, have bigger diffrences in their culture
No offence but this one was disappointing. I expething some tips in roleplaying wizard schools Phyromancers Frost Mages Arcanist (transmuter) Necromancer (play a DK with cloth)
Blood Mages are just the term for Blood Elf Mages and has nothing to do with actual blood. There are Warlocks and Shamans that have been known to use blood, but no Mages use blood.
Please read the rest of the article, it says that he's not a blood mage but another kind of bloodmage. In either case he is a mage that casts spells with blood, therefore a bloodmage. P.S. Game masters aren't really an authority of the game's lore, they may have insight when it comes to it, but they're not an authority of it and can basically say anything about it, just like anyone else.
At least I will be unique from everyone when The Legion expansion comes out, where 75% of the players will be Demon Hunters bullying the rogues. Man arcane mages are broken, so they can kick the DH butts.
I am RP ing a witch. But OOC I'm a mage. My characters powers are like Eleven. Not as strong of course. Yes I know you should follow lore but that is the fun in that to just follow lore and not coming up with something yourself? Just asking. Does powers like telekinesis exist in wow? Thanks
Darklord Productions I might notify people that I'm recording them next time in trade chat. I find that recording people like this makes good shots since they are in the middle of good rp. :D
Oh my.. Dalaran music.. IMO the best music ever made for any videogame, ever.
Liam Frisenbrink It's not my favorite music of all time, but it's pretty amazing especially for videos since it has a slow pace.
How to rp a mage: *snort a shit ton of arcane dust*
Blazey Kat nice
Being a Titanic race to me makes it more likely to be gifted with the arcane.
The Mogu taught the Zandalari Trolls the ways of the Arcane then they past it to the other trolls.
I always thought that night elves who decended from a group of trolls who lived near the well of eternity learned how to use strands of magic made from the well which is the life essence of the world soul.

I love your WOW lore videos, Doron! I always listen to them at home when I'm trying to relax ❤️ hope you make more new vids soon!
"It isn't really in their roots because humans were originally a titanic race"
Aren't the titans the biggest users of arcane magic in the universe?
Robert Isasnake yeah lmao
Loved the vid Doron! Mage is one of my favorite classes in the game lore wise, they are just so cool! Honestly any of them next would be great to me because I just love these videos ^^
Ashourii P Thanks. :)

Doronsmovies Well, I look forward to them all.
Amg! Famous. Totally not the redheaded warlock at 0:18.
I have a question, how do Mages learn and use their spells, do they just read a book and simply say the spell? or is it more complicated then that.
They need to learn it, they learn it from books and other sources. How they choose what spell to channel I'm not sure we know
XxSMOKERxX35 They need to learn it and practice it. They also need very good patience if they want to learn the powers of the Arcane since that's kinda a very dangerous energy if they can't handle it.

Callum Hayward The celestial's being the crane, tiger, serpent and yak. ;)
Hey beefcake! Could you update these! We would love it!

Velkhan Will do a video covering the monks at some point definitely.
It was actually confirmed in WoD that Draenei are not immortal, just extremely long-lived. Only Velen is immortal but the rest of them are descedants of the original draenei who left Argus.
And the Pandaren wrong again.. The Shado-pan even have their own mage regiment called the Omnia...
Another comment said that the Mogu knew arcane really well, Pandaren have stolen lots of stuff from Mogu so it's not unlikely that Pandaren would be mages. As well as the fact that they now have access to arcane because they've been exposed to the entirety of Azeroth.
Great video! And where are you from Doron I've never heard your type of accent before.
Suupa Mang Thanks, also Serbia. :)
This was awesome. Also I saw myself in that video!
TripleSomething Thanks. If you are on Argent Dawn EU then it is most likely you. :D

Where do you get all the cinematics from such as 4:44
? :)
BOOMERSCREED __ Trailer for Zul'Aman.

@@jasonecromancerng1305 They did and it was confirmed, bruh
Plz do one on fire magic :D
Hey Doron.. Make a Q&A about : " If just Garona go to Horde.. "
Are you gonna make allied race rp guides?
So as a Night Elf Mage, would I be looked down on if I were to walk through Darnassus? It kind of sounds like it is accepted but mostly out of necessity... Doronsmovies

I'm in the intro, wooh!
That is basically information from wow wiki
night elf it is!
Hey Doron!
Could u separate your class guides into spec parts? E.g. Pyromancer, cryomanser and arcane wizard for mages.
Пылающий Легион I might do something about rp classes that are not really in game but you can roleplay as them, once I finish the class rp series.
Doronsmovies Thanks a lot! Cant wait to see it)
What about the Gnomes? They are such an intelgent society tinkering with technology. Do they also tinker with the arcane in this way?
TheLegendaryCO Yes I would say so. They most likely make machines powered by arcane magic.
Hey Doron what is the best Mage specializations for soloing?
I know I'm late, but this is a lore video not meant to talk about gameplay. That said, I main a mage, and it's fire.
Boomstick I already know that this is a lore video so you do not need to point this.
Arcane feels pretty powerful as well right now
How long ago did the night elves become blood elves?
Dwarf Mages where taken out during Vanilla until Cata because of Faction balance, Dwarf Mages would make the Alliance have 1 more race/class combo than the Horde.
if trolls turned into the night elves, did blood elves too?
Kevin Karakaya can some1 clarify?
What? Trolls turned into nightelves, then some of them turned into highborne which later got exiled. The exiled highborne are what we now call bloodelves if I'm not mistaken.
Jayden stop
Kevin Karakaya I explained that as a main part of the video. Trolls evolved into night elves. Some of them were exiled for the use of arcane magic and later on turned into high elves.
To this day I regret picking Draenei for my mage which is also my main... I don't even like the Draenei race at all...
Mitar Zecevic Draenei are pretty awesome in my opinion and the most advanced mage class out of all of the races.
Yea they are one of my favorite races as well
Doronsmovies Yeah. I understand that but they are just not my style. And Byron Grierson I don't have money or a bank account/credit card, so yeah...
I know It's off topic but whatever.I think we wont kill sargeras in wow, maybe in warcraft 4
if havent yet interesting will be monk
You never covered frost, fire orarcane specs in any of your videos :/
There isnt much to now BE prefer fire, human and HE prefer frost, anyway fire and frost are just a branc of the evocation school which where probably invented from azshara, the arcane is just pure energy
+pancrazio de consuelo It's actually the opposite. BE/HE prefer frost and Humans prefer fire.
kael thas and jaina.

ouroborosi It's something I have planned once I finish the class rp series. A few videos on possible roleplay classes that are not in game.
magics are heresy walk always into the light!
As a rule, the longer you're race lives, the lazyer and slower learning they are. For what ever reason.
The virgin slow turtle vs the chat speedster mouse
what about blood mages?
Blood Mages are just the term for Blood Elf Mages and has nothing to do with actual blood. There are Warlocks and Shamans that have been known to use blood, but no Mages use blood.
Except that one gnome blood mage in the Blasted Lands quest chain. He clearly doesn't exist.
"It appears that, while Kasim Sharim is a Gnome Blood Mage, it may be this is invalid." wow.gamepedia.com/Kasim_Sharim
Please read the rest of the article, it says that he's not a blood mage but another kind of bloodmage. In either case he is a mage that casts spells with blood, therefore a bloodmage.

What game do you use for the lore????
+Nepeta Leijon What do you mean?
Like, in the videos you use gameplay
+Nepeta Leijon World of Warcraft, since it is a World of Warcraft guide.
No no, it looks like an older game. I know WoW is used, but there's one with older graphics, I would assume it's either Warcraft 2 or 3?
+Nepeta Leijon I believe all of the footage used in this video is from World of Warcraft, combined with World of Warcraft cinematics.
Elu belouri delenar
So wrong on the Trolls. They have used arcane enchantments even before there even where elfs... Do some research man..
Then why did they not practice arcane spellcasting?
Yea though if i remember correctly they called them witch doctors.
Wolves Silhouette spotted guys.

As a witch I would suggest a warlock or void priest because both of them use void, which in BFA the witches used the void.
MY GUILD AGAIN, WHAAAAAAAT??!!!
What's your guild?
The goldsbane, and the wolves sillhouette
I suck at spelling
Darklord Productions Ohh I know them
