    Grief is weird. My grandma died after a battle with ovarian cancer. I moved into her house for the last few months to take care of her so she wouldn't have to go to hospice. She died in her room while I was there. Since it was night time the funeral home didn't come to get her until the morning. I saw she was dead knew she was dead but it still didn't feel real. It was not sudden we knew it was coming and had months to process and grieve before she died. I didn't even realise how in denial I was the whole time until a month after her death.
    There is no right or wrong way to grieve and the process can take a long time. It's not linear or organized.
    I wish you, Ara, and the rest of your family the best as you make your way through this difficult journey. Sending love 💜💜💜

    Hello Alice❤ - I am so sorry for your loss, I can feel your pain through the screen and I can relate to the denial. For years after my mom passed, I always expected her to come walking in the door, and this sounds a little weird, but our laundry room was in the basement and my mom's craft room was down there - every time my Dad would put something in the dryer I somehow would always hope that my mom would come walking up the stairs (she spent a lot of time downstairs doing her crafts - and she would always throw a load of laundry in when she was down there). My mom made the holidays what they were, the best time ever! Holidays are the hardest - and her birthday. 🌹 I bought the NYX lip plump - quite intense that one is - kinda didn't expect that. The box has some great products in it - but I am so enjoying all of the new I have purchased lately because of you! So thank you! ❤ I do believe consistency is key and I have made notes of the ones I will be repurchasing and using regularly. I also did check out the new products in the Chogongjin line on YesStyle - ooooooo I want to get those! You truly are the best and I appreciate everything you do for your viewers! Take care and have a lovely evening! 🌸💮🌸

      I’m so sorry to hear you lost her. Those memories are precious though aren’t they - that’s what we are trying to focus on over here. 💕
      Yes same I was not expecting NYX to put so much intensity into theirs! I doubted them haha! Funny enough, I think I might like the Maybelline the most, but for a specific reason. It feels like I ate a spicy burrito every time I apply it 🤣
      Hope you have a great evening too 🥰

    I am so sorry for you loss. I understand when you say that human brain has to conduct its own investigation. My aunt passed 20 years ago in an accident. We missed seeing her and her funeral as we were in the accident too and out of it (in hospital bed) for weeks. Long story short, I know she has not been around for last two decades, but my brain still don’t know how to believe that she is not here anymore.

    Hi Alice. Kimchi is a topping usually meant for rice and additive to salad. It can be a good method of body good bacteria intake since I usually get it with kombucha and probiotic supplement for increase body defence. I also take chili as a additional vitamin source.

    I understand about your denial. When my dad died, I didn't tell anyone because I felt as long as people didn't know, he could still come back alive. But if I told people, then he would definitely be dead forever. I mean, it wasnt even like loads of people didn't know through my mother and siblings but our will to keep them with us is so strong we can persuade ourselves of anything.
    Anyway, sending you condolences and love. It does get easier. Just not that much and it can take a long time. I think we've been blessed to have had someone in our lives whose absence leaves us in so much grief. x

    Sudden losses really do mess with your head. In 2007 after getting the news that my work colleague had been killed I was convinced he would walk through the door for his shift as usual. He was due to start at 12pm, I watched the door from 11.30am, convinced he would appear and it was all a mistake. I stopped watching the door at 2pm. I wish I could say it gets easier but I think we just learn how to live with the pain 💕

    Alice, I very much understand that denial is very strong. I couldn’t go to the family July 4th party because it has only been six months since losing a beloved family member to pancreatic cancer and my brain still sees her and I talking at last year’s party.
    I have been using the Purito 5% ascorbic acid in the morning and I am tolerating it😊. I am happy with the possible benefits as an antioxidant and I use vitamin c derivatives at night. I have dry/dehydrated mature skin and rosacea, so ascorbic acid at higher percentages can irritate my skin.

    Alice, it's really appreciated to hear you opening up about what happened. Grief is complex to process with a logical mind, especially when it is unexpected. My father died suddenly as a child, and it took weeks to cry about it because of the shock and disbelief. When people we love pass suddenly, our brains think it's a trick disappearing act and don't have time to process it the way we would with notice. The way you are feeling is normal, and your community is here for you during this sad journey. ❤

    Im using the round lab sunscreen at the moment, I also got the tone up one as a free gift which I don't like. Although love the original, it does not leave a white cast on my either, I have light medium skin. I remember I used a purito vitamin c many years ago but not used it since, I remember quite liking it but I am loving the Torriden and Celimax ones at the moment. I remember I used the brow pencil from Unleshia which was pretty good but it was so less product compared to the nyx one I usually buy

    Denial is an inescapable phase I'm afraid. Forget a certificate, I was sitting there next to the body, yet my mind kept telling me "Oh she's just sleeping". So I kept talking and every now and then I'd "remind her" that it's been a while and she should wake up. It's like as long as you don't admit to it then it's not real. It was only when she was taken away was I confronted with the fact that I won't be seeing her again..
    I think it's because we're wired for survival and self preservation. Our minds would always try to protect us, and denial is just one of many ways..

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 місяці тому

      I’m so sorry you went through that. Yes, I do think it’s self preservation. We have to be tough through turmoil out of necessity, even though we still are finite. It’s hard to conceptualize that somehow we are both, i think!

    Where are you in '96 when I needed the information about which liner not to use for tight lining? I cried black tears and was absolutely convinced that I had somehow filled my eyeball with ink and was going blind.
    It's funny now but I was 13 and freaking out because I felt like i desperately needed to go to the emergency room but also I was not allowed to wear makeup. By the time I had weighed telling my parents versus just going blind, I'd cried the liner off. I had to explode a pen on my shirt to cover the liner stains and keep my secret.

    I love adding kimchi to ramen, my favorite ramen is the Shin black ramyeon. I also love piling it onto bulgogi, but thats a dish my work serves so it's very accessible to me. Maybe this is your sign to try some korean cooking
    Also dont be ashamed or embarrassed at your message, if it makes you feel better, i thought it leaned more on the stoic side. Going theough a family death is hard and emotions are human, i certainly didnt feel any judgment or embarrassment on your behalf when i read it

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 місяці тому

      I read this and (maybe unsurprisingly) went down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out how Korean food compares to cuisines I’m more familiar with. I do wonder why Thai/Japanese/Indian are all so popular in the U.S., but Korean cuisine seems less popular? (If this is regional and Florida is just behind, well, I wouldn’t be surprised at all LOL)
      True true, there may simply not be a “correct” message for these kinds of things. Thank you for the perspective!

    I think denial is the only way in the beginning to work through grief. I'm still in denial about my beloved cat, and my dad. The Only thing that helps is time, because it's such a horrible shock and situation. Can I ask how your brother passed away and what was his age? Just stay busy, that you're there for your mom and any other siblings, and his dad. So sorry.

    Hello Alice, it is very difficult to accept the death of a loved one, sometimes one cannot find the right words to express what another person needs to hear, what does help is to accompany you and show you how much we appreciate you. A big hug to you and Ara, the best thing is that you show each other how much you love each other, as happened to me with my partner when her father died, remember that I told you about my experience? And I am very sorry for what you must be going through, You should never rush personal processes since we are all different. I really appreciate that despite what you are feeling you continue making videos for us, but you should know that we understand if you want to take some time, because your peace of mind is more important. A big hug Alice. In relation to the video, I have heard from Dr. Dray and other dermatologists that the fact that vitamin C penetrates the skin barrier is questionable and that there are hypotheses that say that it is not known if the vitamin C from Skin Ceuticals has its effect on others. antioxidants in the formula rather than vitamin C alone.
