I am not a trucker but you wake me up !!! Thank you for the trucks. I couldn't imagine ever how dangerous job it is !!! Now i will always appreciate them. That's why i love your channel because you are a good person.
Randy...as a former Trucker of 13 years, I appreciate your shout out! The Phaeton is a dressed down Bentley Flying Spur. I know someone who owns one. Brand new it was close to $100,000. You should still get this one Randy. Lexus...its worth repairing Subi...yes a quick flip...
Thank you for your support for Truck drivers. I’ve been a Trucker for a little over 7 years, and just in that short time I’ve seen lots of things. Love your videos, keep up the great work.
Someone should give that car a second chance.. sadly i'm over in Europe, if only that car would be over here, i would fix it & take such good care of her..
That Phaeton is worth the risk. They’ve held their value really well over the years. Very luxurious car as well. It would create some new unique content. Don’t see many VW’s on your channel!
The story of why it exists is pretty interesting too. It was a project lead by the VW group CEO at the time. He was determined to make a “luxury car for the people”. Although the price was only a little less expensive than the A8, it ended up being a sales failure. People didn’t want a luxury car with the VW badge.
My son is a Trucker. He drove in the army reserves for 6 years then got his civilian CDL. He tells me all kinds of stories about cars cutting in front of him, cars not letting him change lanes. It's crazy out there.
Go for the Phaeton!!! she may be very collectable soon, she has an interesting story involving Ferdinand Piech and his sick obstination to create an impossible S-Class 'killer'. The cool factor about the Phaeton is that never pretended to be cool (in my opinion). Would be great to watch you putting her in the road again. Thanks for your good job!!!
Randy, my son watches you religiously. He wants to become a truck driver. Thank you for acknowledging the drivers. We are very thankful for them. Thank you for everything!
The Phaeton isn't a bad car at all and has tons of cool features but I would get the Lexus especially because that actually runs just got to fix the smoke coming from it and should be good. Maybe some paint correction and it would be pretty slick and look nice. As always Randy love the videos keep them coming. Nice stuff.
I’m the one that has the expedition with 250,000 miles. I am a truck driver and thank you very much for your support. It is definitely a tough and hard job. Keep up the great work.
Passat has the similar computer, sunroof drain gets blocked. Puff. There's a two inches of space under seat, when water has no place to go that's where it stays.
Well said Randy I spent twenty years on the road driving a coach around Europe and England and and truckers do one hell of a job and deserve all the respect in the world
Thank you for the recognition for the truckers/drivers. I started small deliveries in 1979, to semi trucks throughout the country , retired in 2004. Both my sons learned to walk in the back of my trucks. Still miss the open road
I had one of these in the UK. The fault is normally with the KESSY module under the floor on the passenger side. It gets wet and breaks. Replace that and the 2 battery's in the boot and you will be good to go. Oh and maybe the ECU too.
Randy... im also a Tractor Trailer Truck driver for UPS here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and wanted to say THANKS for recognizing us and how hard of a job we have and the BS that we have to deal with on a daily basis!! The way I look at is like this.... "Hey.... I don't come to your job, harass, or put your life in jeopardy... so please don't do it to me!!"
Randy you just got my upmost respect sir. As a 26 year, now unfortunately disabled, over the road driver it brings a tear to my eye that finally someone with a large listening audience spoke the truth if ever told it. Thank you Mr Randy for speaking on the behalf of my fellow drivers thank you. In 97 I lost a dear friend and a hell of a co- driver because an idiot was in a hurry causing a major accident by passing us on the right shoulder and clipping our front passenger wheel which at 70mph 80,000 pounds makes a sudden movement guess what happens next. Long story short he just took over his turn 15 mins in and lost his life and it took them 1 hour and 45 mins to cut me out of the carnage was the longest time if my life because when I opened my eyes I was face to face with my friends face and I'm leaving that there. Yes it's a hard life and yes it's dangerous. But if you make it through a career you get to see some of the most beautiful sunsets, mountains, fields, canyons, God had ever created. THANK YOU!
the old Subaru 👌 i'm a Subaru tech so i just have a thing for Subaru''s. And those old ones are tanks. I know they have head gasket problems when they get old. But that one cranked over nicely, that is a healthy running EJ22. If the coolant reservoir is full. I would definitely bid on it.
My dad was a truck driver that drove to canada every week. He was gone for 2 weeks at a time and home for 1 or 2 days. It was a tough early life for me and my mom.
Thats a timing chain motor. The timing chain is in the rear of the motor. cost around $5-10K to change it and they all need it. It was this great motors Achilles heel.
Hello Randy. The cars are awesome. It's great that you show all of the big rigs that have carnage. I don't drive but my friends that do drive respect the big rigs.
Those bigger generators are usually used for a power outage so they can hook them up to senior citizen high-rises and nursing homes that don't have backup generators
I Drove The Big Rigs Years Ago, You Are So Rite Randy, Highly Risky Job, Nearly Lost My Life One Early Morning.. I Know What it’s Like And I Respect These Guys That Do This For Sure..
When was the last time I saw a Subaru like that? Right this moment! The one I own and that is sitting in my driveway. I have a 1991 Legacy L I bought almost brand new with 255,000 miles on it today and my air conditioning is still ice cold as well. It never fails to start right up! You should buy that bad boy!
That was a great speech about us truckers. Thank you for recognizing what we do out here. Keep up the videos! Encourage me to look at copart cars now lol.
I'd get the Phaeton, it's an awesome car. And you can open the trunk from the VW-logo with the key, the lower mid section of the logo moves away with the key and reveals a lock that the key fits, and you can manually open the trunk and lift it up.
If you have any chance, please please pleaseee get the Phaeton, its worth the risk, but they are very rare cars!! Would love to see it on the channel, would make for some epic content. Stay safe Randy ❤️🙏
During the pandemic and now I deliver groceries and produce to stores and merchandise to department stores Thanks for your input and getting on our soap box I preach that every time someone gets in my face about being slow holding up traffic backing in to a facility I commend you for your support and your common sense and understanding how it is being a truck driver I live in Southern California Los Angeles area try driving a 75ft long rig on the the 405 in rush hour traffic I run out of fingers counting how many times I’ve been told I’m number 1 Keep up the great content can’t wait to see the el caballero whenfinished
I bought that phaeton. It has a known issue with moisture getting into the kessy " Keyless Access System". When I removed the module water came out of it.
Great Content Randy, As You Know Volkswagen Owens Audi, Amongst Several Other High Line Manufacturers.. The Phaeton & The Audi A8 Are The Same Vehicles, It’s Quite A High-Line Luxury Vehicle.. With All The Electronics, A New Battery Would Do Wonders For It.. Cheap Enough, It’s Worth It..
Randy, when I have a situation like you had with the FAY A TON, I turn on the head lights so I know when I get a good connection with the jumper cables without having to run back in to the car again and again.
If the Lexus only needs a head gasket I would say take a chance on it and replace the head gasket. The VW is very interesting and would make for great content since there isn't much videos on such a car. Randy you really need an ongoing project on your channel similar to swamp vett.
Fathers a trucker and i respect every single one off them, seen it in the summer holidays as a kid going with him round Europe it’s not an easy job like people think #respecttruckers ✌️
Didn’t have power at all because it has two big batteries in the back which were def dead. Needs alot of juice to power it. You can use key to open it with secret key slot in the VW badge and they are both hidden behind trims. Cool car
Gorgeous Phaeton, a W12 or V10 TDI from Europe is one of my silly dream cars! Typical VW group car, have to dissect the whole front end to get to anything. That's actually a Bentley, which explains the ridiculous maintenance costs. You're so right about the truckers, they were the best drivers around when I was out west. So much respect.
On the Phaeton, there is a hidden keyhole in the VW Logo on the trunk, which lets you unlock the trunk in case of no power. There are 2 batteries in the trunk, most likely both are bad.
Hey, Randy thanks for acknowledging the trucking industry and yes you are absolutely right about this country stopping to a halt my brother and me are truck drivers and we do watch your Channel thanks once again on behalf of myself and the brothers driving OTR, dedicated and can't forget my Cowboys with the livestock and last but not least my owner ops having to deal with those grimy brokers take care ya'll.

I read the Phaeton has two batteries. One for starting the car, and one for comfort features. Sounds like a totally dead battery can cause problem like you saw....
Yes that is it. I alway drive fast past them because any accidents that happen the small car loses..nice tip.. Sometimes they don't see u in their Mirrors and they just move to right or left

What's with the cars at the end by the semi trailers? There was one on it's side. You'd think Copart would at least take one of their forklifts and knock it back onto its wheels.
Randy by far this is the best information you have given out there especially for us truck drivers I've been doing this for 20 years and believe me I've had my ups and downs going down the highway thank you sir for giving that great advice to all those people that had never had family members as truck drivers or even come across and talk to one and listen to their side of the story my respect to you my man things that you said people don't understand why is it so important to get the heck out of our ways people don't know that when we're driving it's not our decision stay in the lane for a long period of time our trucks are governed our trucks are heavy they don't move like a normal vehicle and people just don't understand thank God I've never had any confrontation with anybody but I've heard stories of truck drivers being shot at for staying in a lane for a long period of time because idiot people don't make up their minds on what they're going to do but I sure appreciate it you taking your time and saying all those wonderful things at the end of this video 🙏💪👍
As a truck driver, I appreciate the acknowledgment. I watch your channel daily.

Subi...yes a quick flip...
The depreciation was actually insane on this one as you said, they went from $100k to $5k in less than 10 years
Thank you for your support for Truck drivers. I’ve been a Trucker for a little over 7 years, and just in that short time I’ve seen lots of things. Love your videos, keep up the great work.
That Phaeton is a Bentley Flying Spur with VW styling. Insanely luxurious and insanely expensive to repair.
Bentley prices on a Volkswagen....😬
Someone should give that car a second chance.. sadly i'm over in Europe, if only that car would be over here, i would fix it & take such good care of her..
Yes indeed it is on the same platform as the Bentley, but one positive point on this one is that is does'nt have the w12.
@@Stuntmannetje it has it as a option

agreed.
That Phaeton is the same as an Audi A8. They didn't do well in the US but are great cars.

The Volkswagen has a bad comfort control module underneath the driver's seat in the floorboard they get wet and mess up
At least, that Phaeton doesn't have the problematic W8.
