Liftmaster garage door grinding noise fix reinstall coupler and door gear synch.

DIY fix my garage door loud grinding noise like a machine gun coming out from the opener itself. So it's not the carriage teeth getting worn out, it' something on the opener side. If you have liftmaster model 2220 or screw driver type (no chain) opener, look at the top part of the opener, there's a black plastic coupler, if it's loose, then that is the cause. It's a piece of plastic with rubber spline that connects the screw and the motor. It sounds like a simple fix, but the weight of everything aren't as light weight as I would think, and the previous installation wasn't the best job in the world. Be sure to unplug the power cord!!!!!!! UNPLUG the power cord before working on it!!!!
