How to paint Death Guard Plague Marines
----------------------------------------
Hey! Welcome to my next painting tutorial in which I will show you how I painted Plague Marines from Wh40k. Their design is very busy but I think it works very well for this kind of miniatures. I enjoyed painting them!
My Instagram: / 2brushes1cup
I use Raphael 8404 and Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes.
Music by The Ocean.
I love your tutorials and I always apriciate the music you put in the videos.
Thanks! I'm glad that you like the music, it's an unpopular choice as most of the other tutorials use some generic neutral sounding background music but for me music choice is very important as I'm also a musician ;) actually, my first two movies have music from my own band :)
It's not often I'd watch an almost 30 min painting video. But I watched this one, because it's great stuff!
Same, i couldn't out it down!!!!
Damn! that was the best painting tutorial I've ever see, I loved the color palette you used
Excellent tutorial, I really missed this one before!
Only missing part was some satin var´nish, or 'ardcoat for a glossy finish on the tentacles!
I'm speechless. This is one of the best Plague Marine paint jobs on UA-cam.
Thank you :)
excelent work!! Im starting a deathguard force now and Im looking for inspiration and stuff to shoot for. Good content too. I like how you just broke it down, paint by paint and step by step with no bullshit. Soundtrack was awesome too. Im a metalhead and found that very relaxing.
Why isn't your channel more easy to find?! I love your videos! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I've just finished editing a new video :) it will be online tomorrow.
i think I'm going to use this, thanks a bunch, been scratching my head for a couple of weeks on how to paint my Kill team of Nurgles chosen.
Very cool tutorial, that color scheme looks great!
Thanks!
so much detail, love it! may nurgle bless you!
After watching this for the fifth time, I bought all the materials you listed...
I am speechless. absolutely speechless. this is incredible
Thank you very much :)
@@2brushes1cup you are so welcome. this inspired me to actually buy an airbrush
@@Frozen_Angel you will not regret it, airbrush is a very valuable tool :)
@@2brushes1cup how do you thin the scale 75 paints? I've heard they are extremely thick
@@Frozen_Angel I woudn't call them extremely thick. While it's true that they're thicker than most other miniature specific paints, they're nowhere near true artist grade heavy body acrylics like Schmincke for example, which is what I also use.
I thin them as any other acrylic paint, with a 20:1 mix of water and Liquitex Flow Improver. They require a bit more thinning than other paints and work best when thinned down to a heavy glaze/light layer consistency. I've been painting with them for a while now and I'm fully adjusted to their thinning so I do it automatically now, without much thinking ;)
I dont collect Death Guard, but sure is making me want to pick up a set to try something new, awesome work.
Hehe, neither am I :) I buy models that I like from all different armies just to paint them. Death Guards are very fun to paint :)
Amazing! Look forward to the basing tut.
It will take a while unfortunately. I have so many different projects lined up for recording that I just bought sculpted resin bases for those minis. I will paint Mortarion some time in the future and then I will go full custom display level base.
2brushes1cup Happy to wait, your painting style is amazing!
Great! video I just love the lvl of detail u make all
amazing!
Noiiiiceee
Hey man, great tutorial! May I ask for alternatives for the couple first greens from
Scale 75? Thanks!
fantastic job. you just got yourself a sub. keep it up
Great job 👏👏
Amazing tutorial and channel!
Thanks!
Really amazing job! This is the Plague Marine style I was looking for! I'd like to paint mine in a similar way, but I don't own an airbrush. Is it possible to apply those shadows and lightning you did at the beginning with a normal brush?
You can, but it would not be as easy and fast.
Don't know why but my sherwood green just doesn't seem as bright as yours. :-(
great job! But, i've a question: i bought the sherwood green, but, my green is not as bright as yours. I have used
the same airbrush. Do you mix sherwood green with another color?
Thanks
No, I did not mix Sherwood Green with any colour.
What brushes and brush sizes do you typically use for a project? Love your videos!
I use Raphael 8404 #1 and #2 most often. For very precise details I sometimes use Winsor & Newton Series 7 #0.
Hi, love the video 😁 what is the ratio paint/diluant you use to airbrush the scale 75 sczlecolor? Thx
Honestly, I do not know. I never follow any recipes for dilution, I just eyeball it.
What number is your Winsor & Newton Series 7 brush that your useing ? I need one was thinking number 0 or 1 ?
I'm using size #1
@@2brushes1cup thanks so much
Music is great. Is that a light around the mini??
I don't think I understand, what light are you referring to?
Nevermind. I'm sorry. I watched a little further and noticed the metal rod around the mini handle was a brace. At first I thought it was a led strip.
@@2brushes1cup what's the putty you use to fix the mini and bits to your handle??
