This dude is a class act professional. Need more people like this around.
This guy is much more than "an experienced drummer." He has a master's touch.
This is a master's drum solo - full of feel, expression, technicality but not throwing rhythm away in the pursuit of hitting everything in short bursts. Bravo!
That solo man, flawless technique and musicality
I'm a Long Island drummer that has the privilege of seeing and talking with Frank regularly. He has always been extremely funny and generous with his time and knowledge to not only me, but anyone who asks. (especially young drummers) "Buddy Rich 2.0". As great as his performance is here, it only scratches the surface. Thanks to Drumeo for recognizing the real thing when they see it! Great job guys!!
Frank was my drum teacher growing up for some time. There isn’t a player who is more knowledgeable and skilled then he is. He is the definition of drummer! I’ll always look up to Frank.
Same here! My best and final teacher.
This was an awesome video. I had the realization that there are many “Frank Bellucci’s” all over the country - working full-time drummers who are gifted and superb players, but virtually unknown to the global social media audience of today. I can think of three guys from my neck of the woods who are not only incredible players, but have great attitudes and a disciplined and professional work ethic.
Thinking out loud, but it would be an interesting concept for Drumeo to feature players like that from different regions from time to time. They’re out there, and they have lots of knowledge to share! Thanks Drumeo!
This man is a Treasure! Protect him and his knowledge at all costs.
Frank is a national treasure as far as I'm concerned. Great you guys had him on.
WTF, Thats one of the best drum solos I've ever seen. i don't know how to describe it. it is a DRUM SOLO. i was writing this comment as I was listening to it. and then at the end the host says that is a drum solo!. that's the best way to describe it.
Holy Mother of Pearl.. I’ve watched bits of his videos. Just watched his whole thing - that’s as good of a solo as you’re ever going to SEE AND HEAR - bar none.. !! He is just a pleasure to witness and listen to…
It’s insane the difference it is for my brain to process what he’s doing playing left handed. apposed to watching a right handed player play and understanding.
I'm in a 9, sometimes 11, piece band and am exactly the same way he is, always watching everyone and paying attention to their every move to keep people in check. Drummers, what would the world do without us?!! LOL
Was a student of his for many years. A legitimate master of his craft and a blue collar musical mensch. So proud to see him shine on a larger platform.
He makes jazz sound and look enjoyable!
The drum solo was just AWESOME Wht a journey he took me. Bravooo 🤘
Thanks so much DRUMEO for featuring this truly great drummer.
I met Frank at DFI Québec and the guy stole the show that weekend. Honestly, I took more out of his performance than the other big name legends that also played.
I just love watching this man play.
Bravo Frank Bellucci!
My gumba from Long Island. Probably one of the best drummers on the East Coast. Frank is friggin' OFF THE HOOK!!! 😁💖
Love this guy! Makes me feel like I'm sitting and listening to all my moms uncles in New York/ New Jersey. Such a stand up guy.
one of greatest drummers on the planet ,fortunate to see him live a few times
Without thinking, I started to stand up and applaud at the end of Frank’s solo. This man has mad skills. A master of his craft.
Frank is also a very kind and energetic person. I’ve had the luck of having conversations with him and I’m always mind blown by his stories.
What a great video. I've got nearly 40 years in as a professional drummer and I think the most difficult thing about being a pro is "staying current" with musical trends. As in, all us old guys are gonna need to learn a Kanye or Cardi B tune at some point, LOL.
Aside from fighting the effects gettin' old and creaky, that's my perspective. :D
Yes finally a lefty on drumeo 🥁🥁🥁
They had Daniel Glass a few years ago aswell.
This guy is a Groovesmith Extraordinare and pure gentleman.. if I were in NYC, I’d be studying with Frank Bellucci..
I remember when my drum teacher had to move timeslots cause he was playing with a rockabilly band... or a chamber orchestra. Of course you're gonna learn all that stuff "academically" if you go the path of "formally studying to be a teacher", but even for a garage metal drummer it rules to be able to do a yacht rock gig when asked!
This dude is hilarious. It's like listening to a Ray Liotta character talk about drums. You can really tell that Grayson's hung out with him a lot too
That was so enjoyable. As a fellow left-handed drummer, it’s a nice feeling to be represented. 👏
At 18:00 when you talk about other players having their heads buried in the chart, that brings up another great skill for drummers. Be able to show the other (lost) musicians where we are in the chart (or form) by what you play. When some of the band is lost, we need to prioritize getting everyone on the same bar. The drummer can do that better than anyone else.
So psyched seeing Frank on here! I’ve known him many years and he really is a master player. He’s so disciplined and well-rounded and hilarious, to boot. Thanks for featuring him!
Took a semester taking lessons with Frank in my senior year of college & wish I could’ve taken more, he’s a true master of the art & I’m happy to see him taking on big opportunities like this
I live in PA and play drums. There are so many complete drummers in our area. And by that, I mean they can play just about anything from Latin to shuffles and anything that is required. And many of them teach on the side. As far as making a living or a good living. If you have the chops, you will never be out of work. You will not have many free days or nights. And in our area, you can make a very good living. By the way Mike Portnoy lives just down the road.
His high hat time keeping is very special…it sounds like he’s tapping w a stick then choking it…but he isn’t touching it w a stick at all…that pssst pssst instead of ch ch ch is crazy hard!
I think I've watched every guest you've had on Drumeo. This has been one of my favorites you've had. Frank is a gem. Salt of the earth drummer with a wealth of knowledge and a beautiful touch on the drums. Please have Frank visit more! ❤️🔥
At 36:57 : there is the shaman channeling his drum god's energy ....really great stuff
What a great personality and incredibly talented cat Frank is
Just wanted to let you know that Frank Bellucci is fantastic this is the first time I have heard him play drums eveer.
A 62 minutes content; Holy moly guacamole Drumeo!!
That drum solo is a cause for celebration on it's own! 😱

Legit Journeyman. Great opener.... had me bumpin along. A real dude. That brush work too! Oh my!! Thanks for the great vid.
Great guest to have on, and for what it's worth, I'd totally watch a Cooking With Vinnie & Frank lol
Do ever notice when looking at left-handed drummer you can really see the size difference between 10 & 12 inch rack Tom's but when looking at right hand kit not as much 😂
I have thought about this for a long time. Yes, the relative size perspective looks totally different. I wonder why? I also wonder if the opposite effect is true for left handed drummers, that a right handed set up appears to have vastly different rack tom sizes?
As a left-handed drummer, your statement is correct. 😊
Frank is an amazing drummer and a great guy . I saw him at a clinic in Long Island with Terry Bozzio and a few others , they all had full or huge drum sets . Frank came out with a snare a hi hat and brushes and gave an absolutely amazing performance . I met him after the show we talked and he invited to the studio where he was teaching at the time , which was the Long Island Drum Center in Auburndale Queens New York . We hung and talked for awhile and I ended up buying one of his books .
Almost in my 30s and really want to turn garage drumming into my career! Just afraid to put myself out there, whether that's church drumming, drumming for an artist, for a band, ect. my goal as of right now would just be session work. Learn a band's stuff, play for a band or artist and grow in several styles from those bands and artists. I'm only on TikTok and UA-cam. Dont have any other social media. But I want to turn drums into a career.
fantastic talent. and it seems, very down to earth man. have to hear much more from him. please drumeo have frank belluci back.
Just seems like the most seasoned of seasoned pro's. I get the vibe that he's seen it all. You just know he's unshakeable behind the kit.
Fantastic Drumeo!! The wealth of knowledge from
a player like frank is becoming harder to find as the years go on. Thank you for giving him a platform to share. You can tell that he is an equally gifted teacher as well as a player. Those 2 things don’t always go together :)
3 minutes and you just turned me on to _two_ new artists: Frank Bellucci and Bill Heller. Sounding like Eddie Harris's band.
That Drum Solo man, i enjoyed every second of it.
I’m from Long Island, and I was out to see a guitar player Willie Steele, who by that time I’d seen many times already. This was probably about 1998ish. But he had a different drummer this night. He had the drummer take a solo, I think I was talking with someone and just stopped, cause this guy (Frank Bellucci) proceeded to play an incredible solo for about 3 minutes.
Well anyways I’ve seen Frank many times since and gotten friendly with him. He is an incredibly musical and gifted drummer. And it’s not an accident, he is a hard working man at his craft, an artist. He’s also funny as hell and a great guy. He’s the best drummer I’ve ever seen or heard, famous or otherwise. I don’t care who you name. Frank’s the man. And this is him, and it only scratches the surface.
I had never heard of this dude until this video... Yep, I'm a fan. That solo was so captivating!!! Like being pampered and pushed around at the same time lol
Wow. So much to learn just listening to the opening tune.
Excellent presentation, Frankie. You covered a lot of important things regarding being able to work as a full time drummer. You mentioned traffic problems a few times, and boy did I sit in it for hours when I gigged on Long Island years ago. It sucked even back in the 60s. Very creative solo, and I really enjoyed your groove on "5 for 1." I would like to study cooking with you. You can give me your recipes for pasta fazool and cannoli..lol
That Hi-Hat work is absolutely insane 🤌🏽
As many of these videos as I have clicked on in the past this is the first video I have seen all the way through.
What a class act.
Killer drum solo
Killer drummer
Enjoyed a lot❤❤❤❤
Dude, that solo 😳👏🙌
WHAT A SHOW!! I LOVE THIS GUY!!
You sound great Frank! Vitto is also an exceptional drummer " The Candian Vinnie Caliuta" Keep it going!
This is awesome I think frank is one of the best drummers I’ve seen on drumeo .... loved all the insights into making a living out of playing the drums ... he is a master of the craft awesome to watch thank you drumeo
Thanks for the great hang, Frank!
Il a tout un style en plus il est gaucher, il a vraiment une fluidité et une technique impeccable
What an incredible interview and drummer. Loved every minute of it
I think Brandon is a great chameleon in a sense, since he is studying and mastering all these styles of drumming, and all the killer beats of all da greats. He can probably fit into so many genres. You guys, are blessed with a great niche regarding this great instrument. GREAT JOB YOUNG MAN!
One of the best drum solos I've ever seen
I have watched many of these videos and this is the first one that moved me to comment: what a fantastic drummer and guy! If you watch nothing else, di yourself the favor of watching the solo at 31:37. Sublime!
Respect...absolute legend.
AWESOME Frankie! I know all too well about that NYC traffic LOL!
Fantastic video, a true superstar! Look forward to seeing more of this great player!
Best Drummer in New York.
Damn what a beast!! I had never heard of Frank, but I am definitely a new fan. Wow.
That was amazing. What an awesome awesome guy all around from talent to just a wonderful person.
If you can play Jazz tempos and fills, you are a master musician. This was simply brilliant!
Frank is a MONSTER !!!!
Fabulous! A great person, player, teacher and family man.
Though the music here is more jazz-y, Frank can rock out with the very best of them, with wicked double bass drum playing, fusion fills and chops fo days. But those latter assets, while they might get one into a band, don't attract the everyday gigs, thus their absence in this instance. Hopefully a return visit - this man has SO much practical insight and great playing to share - will see Frank reveal the broader scope of his tremendous capability.
HELL YES! I'D WATCH A COOKING SHOW WITH FRANK AND VINNIE!
FRANK THE BELLUCCI , THE COOK
One of my oldest uploads is Frank doing a solo in his studio.
"One of the most musical solos" "Ever", "WOW""
That solo is seriously impressive
I've honestly never heard of him until now, but damn that's some seriously tasty drumming on that first song
Absolutely incredible!
I really enjoyed this video. Great to hear from a true professional. All the best, Frank
Outstanding! Great advice for drummers! Thanks Frank & Drumeo.

Incredible
Very tasteful playing!
New York accent at its best 🤌🏻 Love it! I would’a scared of this guy, he might find you with his sticks if you do wrong to him 😳🔫😂😂😂 (because of his accent 😅)
Frank is the best!
Good groove!!
Nice work
Superb hi-hat work!
Amazing
Man, I am this guy. My life exactly...
