So sorry to hate on this one but multi-vitamins are full bs, and you know they know, because it was "heavily researched". Lol I love how you were scripted to say "Even with a perfect diet it can be challenging to get the key nutrients we need on a daily basis" Except no it is absolutely and incredibly not! A perfect diet while perhaps challenging to obtain on its own is by definition giving you all the nutrients you need.... it is perfect. So the only time you should be thinking about using vitamins is when your body has a deficiency that can not be changed with diet. Percentage wise this includes very few people, you can google statistics for vitamin deficiency in America but it doesn't have information for people who could change by eating less fast food and more fruits and vegetables, and people who have some form of chemical imbalance. There's literally no benefit to taking excess vitamins, but there are health risks. And multivitamins are easily the most useless of the supplement variety because they have the most useless things in them, like unless you know that there's a specific vitamin, like maybe you live in a super cloudy area or your job keeps you indoors most of the day and so over winter you get seasonal depression which can be cured with a vitamin D tablet. Solid reason to take vitamins. Otherwise just taking a bunch of nonsense will. not. help. anything. You'd be amazed at how easy it is to get all required nutrients from your diet like "A perfect diet" isn't even hard to begin with. Do yourself a favor and calorie count for a week, not only do you probably not even touch 2000 calories (the american recommended daily amount) but you also may be over doing it on some vitamins already (of course if you're getting it from things like veggies with a lot of fiber then there's no real risk). And just a fun fact, but exercise can also really help with the absorption of vitamins, so also not having a sedentary lifestyle will contribute to your bodies nutrition. I know, crazy! Anyways, multi-vitamins are a scam and I didn't mean to type this much so thank you for coming to my ted talk.

@@trycethomas939 We don’t have a list of which plant-based nutrients are organic, but all of our products (and ingredients) are non-GMO! Additionally, our vitamin D3, E, and omega-3 DHA are all plant-based sources. The D3 is sourced from lichen (a form of mushroom), vitamin E is sourced from brassica napus seeds, and the omega-3 DHA is sourced from algae (instead of the commonly used fish oil) 💛

I remember listening to George Carlin's old routine about this show when I was a kid. I had pretty much no idea what he was talking about at the time, but he had all the details down: the poverty, the health problems, the misery. Then, at the end of the bit, they ask her what she wants to help her deal with all that, and she says, "a set of golf clubs."

Yeah french too, this really is not comparable. I've had two surgeries fully covered thanks to healthcare. Some of my medications I need because of my mental illnesses gets well covered too. Sadly some don't but I can still afford it. My grandmother had Bipolar disorder, I'm pretty sure the meds were fully cover. However one of my friends who's from the US also has bipolar disorder she can't even afford to take her meds. She can't afford health insurance so she can't even go to the ER if she suspects there might be an emergency because they won't help her if she's not covered. It's next level insane.

There's actually a South Korean variety show called 'Hello counselor' with a similar concept where people come in and tell their stories and after a 'counseling session' done by the host and guest celebrity (if you can call it that, they essentially just go wow yeah you are a shitty person maybe don't do that... next) and then the audience gets to decide whether or not their situation is really 'concerning' or if they're just overreacting and essentially the shitties person gets to win money... (e.g one guy was being HELLA abusive and demeaning to his wife, got mad at her when she physically couldn't WARM HIS MEAL IN THE MICROWAVE because she was so sick and couldn't move AND HE THREW THE MEAL AT THE WALL and wouldn't let her clean without his permission so she could REFLECT ON HER ACTIONS. He'd also put his kid's health in danger by smoking inside the house despite 1. having a 5-month-old and 2. having a kid with lung issues because 'it's his house and he shouldn't be the one to step out.' and apparently he waited until the day they got married to show his true colours once she couldn't really leave anymore (divorce is still a BIG taboo in SK and she can risk getting shunned by everyone in her life) and so they got money for him being a walking fuckwad essentially(don't that just encourage him??) There was an episode I saw a UA-camr talk about where some dad kept pulling his kids pants & underwear down. It was so DISGUSTING but the “counselors” just laughed it off. I can’t remember the exact remarks made bc I got so upset and disgusted watching the video I had to stop watching it.
In all honesty, this is one of your best videos. You brought to light very touchy topics that even today's society somewhat still struggles with (not anywhere near as bad as it was then).

I really love all of your videos! I did want to day that this show was actually quite pivotal in the 50s when it came out because of showcasing the lower class citizens. Before this (and a few others) most, if not all, TV shows focused on white, middle-class, "nuclear" families because it was a great advertising strategy back then called LOP (Least Objectionable Programming) to make it so the most people would watch a show and the majority was white families. This show and a couple of other were some of the first to break away from LOP and start talking about real problems in America like poverty. Just a bit of background for this TV show and what it represented.

My grandfather who also had polio had a family who couldn't afford to Provide necessities because of his medical bills. when he grew up, he didn't qualify for welfare even though he was paralyzed from the waist down. America has been like this for a long time.
