I had a PATH tour years ago. I had taken my Aunt who was visiting from the Philippines. The tour guide had given us the history including the hallway that started it all. There is a section trimmed with gold and the value of that spot is dependent on the value of gold each day. I think my aunt mentioned that Hong Kong has an underground shopping area like the PATH but I can’t find info on it. I caught a couple of performances at the waterfall stage in the financial district (David Usher and Jesse Cook) back in the day when they had free shows during the lunch hour. I was just in the area recently. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the trees at Brookfield Place and in the lobby of the Royal York.
Hello Johnny Strides! Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic video! I really enjoyed the tour around Union station. I hope you have a great Wednesday!!
35:53-This used to be a movie theatre run by Famous Players, then it was an entertainment venue which hosted live shows (one of which was a Blues Brothers show), now it's a ballroom, which, I guess, is a good thing to have in a hotel like this.
You needed to go through The Hudsons Bay store to get to the Eaton centre .. via passing through the Queen subway station .. after my spinal surgery I couldn't bike anymore and had to learn how to walk again .. I got to know the PATH very well .. it's awesome!
Union Station renovation was supposed to be completed before the 2015 PanAm Games .. and you can still hear announcements about construction in the station.. lol 😄
Your making me nostalgic here 😊 ........ Between visiting my then girlfriend at Ryerson, to me working downtown for ~10 years, I spent a lot of time in the PATH and loved it. Lots of changes since I moved on but also lots of things are exactly the same as when I was there ('95ish to about '07ish).
So many doors to open, some with handles which I don't like touching. Probably they need the doors for many reasons but at least make it to open both ways so you can push it with your foot, I don't remember closed doors at train/subway stations in Europe, definitely not in my city. Anyway, just nitpicking :D But the city looks so calm, probably one of the calmest big city, doesn't look crowded. Toronto has mixed opinions but based on the walk videos I like it :)
All the videos related to Path are outdated. Surely some details have changed since November 2022. Incidentally I went Union-Union on my last Toronto trip, Union Depot Chicago followed by Union Station Toronto. Got food court food both places within a 24 hour time period. The train trip was regrettable EXCEPT the two stations.
Those cities don't have anything like the PATH (I've been to all of them). And if you blink the wrong way in Shanghai (and sadly HK now) you'll get arrested 🙄
Thanks!
Thanks Dennis!
It was an awesome experience and I enjoyed it a lot as my first time, it was me in the green jacket. thank you so much for recording it.
Thank you! Nice tour. My husband & I walked these paths for much of our working lives until we retired.
I never knew such a thing existed and here I am. Toronto born and raised 31 years later...hahah

Thanks for the memories. But so much has changed...
Left Toronto 15 years ago after working on Bay street for 13 years.

We got back from Toronto last Friday. Had an awesome time. Sort of miss it watching this vid!

Been a few years since i've been skating!
Thank you. Been figuring out where the Path connects to Union Station. Did not realized I had to go through the subway station!

Nice tour around Union Station
Thank you for this tour of the PATH. God willing coming to T. O. for NHL all star weekend 27jan-3feb and this sure helps.
Thank you for doing a tour of the PATH. It does seem dead. Not like it used to be!
Johnny I enjoyed this one will watch your next video you put out!

The path use to sound like thundering armies walking trying to rush hour especially in the tunnels but now it's relatively dead.
good morning everyone
Ello 👀 buddy
The tourists on the ice 🧊 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣
Looks like lots to do still but looking good
This concourse used to have a small video and pinball arcade.
It did, right around the corner from the McDonalds!
This is great. I would suggest adding chapters so people can find a specific area. I was looking for how to get to ScotiaBank Arena.
Can you walk to the Eaton centre underground from this station ?
Yabsolutely!
I've never explored the path hopefully if I visit next I definitely will!
Great Video Johnny. I want to know more about the store "Future Proof Your Body", at 73 I really need it.
Hello! Interesting walk 😊

from Union to get to UofT using Path, which way and exit would you use, where would be the furthest you can go ?
Bay connects to the eaton center you need to go to the second floor there is a sky bridge
Yup, I've done that many times on video. Cheers
Go train your subway name? Been on it but about 17 years ago
I miss Harveys at the train station..
amazing video. I'm a big fan of you+👍🔔
lol
which direction while in the P.A.T.H do u take to end up at the Sheraton Centre & H.H.O.F?
There are two main north south pathway. hhof is on the east one very close to Union station. Sheraton is on the west one along University.
Is it possible to go from the Scotiabank center to the Nathan Phillips square area after a leaf game using the path?
Yup, just keep heading north it will take you all the way there pretty much.
👍👍📽📽📸📸🎥🎥👍👍
Is your time totally dedicated to this channel ? Or do you have another activity ?
I do youtube full-time, but I also do other stuff, too.
🖒🖒🙋
Sir please one day helicopter ride
Compared to what I've seen in Shanghai, HK, Osaka, Tokyo... This is sooooo SAD.
Those cities don't have anything like the PATH (I've been to all of them). And if you blink the wrong way in Shanghai (and sadly HK now) you'll get arrested 🙄
@@JohnnyStrides have you found all the bodies of the indigenous children you put into your Canadian "schools" yet?
A lot of people work from home now and I think that's why PATH is no longer crowded.
@@mefisto7583 because Tokyo is free of appropriate history aswell
