You Tom are what we call in Australia a top bloke. Best series on YT, I actually get cranky if I'm unable to watch new content straight after receiving a notification. Hoping that you're able to continue producing more episodes, they always bring a smile to my face..
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Myles Ernesto Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
What a great Skylark. I have a 70 Convertible with the 350 2bbl but buckets and console. All the Buick’s back then were extremely well put together. Great show!
Srh AuoSports: Aluminum Differential was an extra-cost Option back then....if has one of those along with a few other odd-ball "Extra Cost" axles back then.....then yes, they become highly valuable for their low-production count.
i had a 68 Squareback that i did with the patina thing, lots off cool add ons like surf board, old antique coke cooler and old kiods tricycle/rims/some interior panels, all new chrome ,red tinted the windows for awhile then change it up some with another set of wheels ,best thing was 1st year fuel injected ! i won many awards with that cool car,i loved it!
Definitely one of my mos favorite series on UA-cam. Always thought a restored Squareback would be a cool daily driver...hope that dude gets his up and running sooner rather than later.
I live an hour north of St. George, but work delivering packages in St. George. I have delivered to Jeremy (the square back VW). There aren't many barn finds in St. George, but go north an hour to Cedar City and Parowan or an additional hour to Beaver and you will find more cars for the show.
That red VW square back was what mom and dad brought me home in, in 1967. We had that car for a long time. They had that one, a VW bus and a bug back in the 60s.
My mum learnt to drive in a Morris Minor. I've always said to myself that I'll own one myself one day. They seem to appear every so often to remind me. Saw one yesterday in fact. Not so uncommon to see in England when there's a warm spell.
Wow, that is a beautiful view from that garage, it can't get any bet.....OH SH*T, he's got a ragtop '70 Skylark. The motor was the same as the GS350. Hi-comp pistons, 4 bbl and dual exhaust. 410 lbs torque @ 3800 rpm. Don't know about the rear - factory was the standard 10 bolt, unless it got swapped out for a 12 bolt later on.
Tom, Great Video As Usual. Next Time, Come About 20 Miles North To The Hurricane & Toquerville Area. We Have Some Cool Patina'd Eye Candy Too. If I See That Yellow Woody, Im Chasing You Down.
Tom if you stop in the Salt Lake area please reach out, we have a few cars you would appreciate seeing! 2 of which were barn finds and both are air cooled VW’s
The Saint George area is mostly new growth with retirees & escapees from California, not a particularly hot spot for backyard finds but you still managed to turn out a good video.
Cool to see you in my home town! There is a place in the east side of Zions National in Glendale Utah and right off the highway is a huge collection of old cars. Check it out if you get over that way
Ha !! I have a Morris Minor ! Its a 56 two door, split window with a slightly less than 1 litre heartbeat. I put a black leather interior in it from a 93 Prelude (the back seats plop right in but the front seats and console needed some help) then stripped all the duco off by hand. Next I deliberately rusted its bare metal with warm water and vinegar then belted it with about 5 coats of clear. After filling the boot with speakers and installing gas lifts for both the trunk and bonnet I unfortunately stumbled upon a 67 Cougar that asked me to take it home...
As someone in the UK these shows are great but so frustrating. Seems like you can pick up these classic cars from all over the damn place in the US and get them running with enough patience. Over here even a busted up vintage car will cost you as much or more than a used modern car a few years old if it has any potential. Shitty weather, metal just doesn't last.
I think the show is a little misleading, as myself growing up in southern Utah I know the area well and I can tell you from all the scenes they were filming in they wouldn't have enough daylight to film all this in one day. St George is down in a hole at the bottom end of the state, but for the most part, the rest of Utah suffers from somewhat harsh Winters. The biggest thing here is and always has been is muscle car era Chevys, remember this era ended in the early 70s and since then American cars have been mostly crap and worthless. It is very difficult to find any car from this era here without substantial body rot and even complete frame rot. People want an absurd amount of money for things like Chevelles, Camaros, and old C10 pickups. I found the 71 Chevelle without an engine that had been sitting in a field for it looked like a few decades with a rotten body and rotten interior and the guy wanted $15,000 for it. Volkswagen buses are another thing that people have gotten crazy about, I consider myself lucky to even see one actually driving down the street. 20 years ago when I was in high school my buddies and I drove around to all the little towns hunting cars, and muscle cars where around back then but they're not there anymore.
The Volkswagen Variant / Squareback is from the second 1500 series between middle of '63 to middle of '65. The first cars in Germany came out middle of '61 and the front turning lights were round and stuck out in front and there was only the single carburettor version until 1963.
Give Nathan a Hagerty subscription maybe it'll motivate him(& his dad)to restore that 'stang!...Mont's Vdub is way cool!. Hopefully that'll get done too! good episode!
Nathan ended up getting it running, but the bottom was completely rusted out. He ended up selling it to someone that pretty much bought it for the motor
I love watching your show its nice to see so many old cars are still around. Here In Miami Florida were I have lived my whole life all the junk yards scrap all the old muscle cars out years ago .Making room for newer models is what sells. Most of us didn't know that some of the old cars were going to go crazy. I own a Classic VW Restorion Shop in the 40 years we have strip parted and scrap out few hundred Aircooled VWs .If I had any idea the value were going to go crazy. I wish I would have had a lot more storage maybe big lot I think I would have done thing a little different .Maybe one day we can meet in person I would like that since you are VW guy. If you ever come down to South Florida please let me know I would love to show you my shop and cars.
that 48 is dam near like my 49 im redoin. but mines 3 window. but mine also has a 54 235 full pressure engine in it. just finished going through entire engine and trans and painting and etc etc. cant wait to be able to stick er back in and drive :)))
The white mustang is in similar condition to the one I inherited from my aunt. I daily drove it until it hit 100,000 miles then I parked it outside, I have it out of the elements now. My family says sell but of course I can't.
The guy who owns the vw camper his garage and location is so nice! Isnt it funny how u just stop at a gas station n magic happens when u drive a classic!
A very interesting, well done episode. I hope you're able to get your drone back. I suspect that since we've seen the footage, you got it back. At least I hope so. :-)
Since Roadkill is no longer on UA-cam, this is my new favourite car show!!

“Hey mister, can we have our drone back?” [insert growl of junkyard dog] 😂
I recently had one of Tom’s book, Motor City Barn Finds, come in the mail. It was absolutely worth it. Keep up the good work, Tom!
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Dillon Emery instablaster :)
@Myles Ernesto Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.

@Myles Ernesto It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account!
@Dillon Emery you are welcome =)
The motor in the Skylark is the same 350 that was offered in the Buick GS. This engine was available in all Skylark models for 1970 only.
any info on the rear end?
What a great Skylark. I have a 70 Convertible with the 350 2bbl but buckets and console. All the Buick’s back then were extremely well put together. Great show!
@@jordibarlow1307 . nothing special i'm sure . 10 bolt .

You got a great production team Tom, great for us home viewers to travel and see these old cars!
Wow, who the heck was shooting that one??? The camera angles, lighting, sound, best ever... Amazing work! Keep it up!
I'd love to ride with you any day. I've always loved just to cruise through the countryside, but now you've got me looking for hidden gems.

that green bus is nice!

The 216 Chevy 6 had splash feed oil to the babbit connecting rods but had pressure to the mains. The 235 was all pressure.
Eric Holt I took a head off a 235 that was in a 56 Chevy
Heaviest head I ever lifted

One of the few British cars I saw in Cuba was a Morris Minor 👍🏻
I think driving an old funky car helps for sure. Gives credibility
How cool is that Old Guy
Hell yeah. I am a VW guy. 71 hard top westy. Love it. I love me some street rods.
I know of a field of vintage tin in central mo. Text me 573 253 8853.

Love The Moggie ( Morris Minor ) Brit nickname 😎
She was a car that you could fall in love with and be a loyal friend 😍

I'm still trying to figure out why the guy with the square-back has a
solid block wall dividing the backyard? Not a fence but a block wall?
I love this show.

What a view from Mont's garage...
The Woodie strikes again, top show Tom,come visit us in New Zealand, still lots of Morris Minors, dead and alive.
Beautiful country out there
This is so good as it’s so real 👍
Thank you good old man
Terrific video as always Tom! I was wondering how many miles you put on that Woody in a year as you travel around looking for your barn finds?
I hope he let you get your drone, excellent video
My Grandfather had a yellow Morris Minor.
My grandfather also had one in Hola Blue in New Zealand. His pride and joy. Wish we still had the car :(
