- For those who don't know, i'm uploading this because some other reactors and i had a discussion and they basically forced my hand.

Technically, it could be used for anyone that's been otherwise removed from the people's (ponies') lives, such as by moving away. However, seeing as the ponies in question are extremely unlikely to have willfully left their children behind permanently, then yes, I think that line (along with AJ's previous line of "If Mom and Dad were here...") is as clear an indicator as we're going to get that Bright Mac and Buttercup are deceased in this show.
Alan Kubis no lauren faust confirmed during season 3 that Applejack's parents are dead put it will never be stated directly in the show
I know she said that, but because she's not actually part of the show's staff anymore, they are free to break from her personal canon. Still, I definitely believe they have held what she said to be true.
Alan Kubis I don't think it's personal canon as she said they were intended to be dead from the show's inception but it will never be directly mentioned no doubt she would've shared this with the staff before starting the show
Yeah, at this point, death is definitely the only conclusion on the table. Pretty obvious
The fact that they constantly used the past tense ("I know they LOVED each other very much", "So dad WAS super honest") and everything else makes it clear that the Apple parents must have died a long time ago. I don't understand how anyone could be confused about that at this point. Pear Butter and Bright Mac would have never left their family behind, no matter the reason, and having them show up after being lost for years or something would have been an awful cop-out. They're gone.

i dont think they died that long ago. AB is still a filly. Based on the series length, as of this ep, it's going into its 8th year. So they must only have died 7 years ago at most. Mac and AJ must have know them when AB was still in utero

Remember back when AJ was planning the reunion and went crazy about it? There's a scene where she's looking outside and two shooting stars go across the sky. The writers confirmed back then that those two stars represented that their parents were gone.
There was a hint in A Royal Problem, we saw Applejack's parent holding her in a dream.
But we have no idea whose dream was that. That could have been just AJ's dream from her childhood.
Also could be Granny Smith's dream of the Past as well.
I wouldn't call there relationship like Romeo and Juliet, they didn't fall in love right away and had an actual relationship.
There are many more factors than that that makes this like Romeo and Juliet.
There are similarities, yes. Though this story is quite different from Shakespeare's and arguably more tragic. Romeo & Juliet takes place over a few weeks, at best and contains only a handful of encounters between the two. What exists between them can barely be called love and would likely be considered simple teenage hormones today. In short: a crush that went too far and ended in a very emo way. There may have been some chemistry, but there was no relationship or meaningful bond. Bright Mac and Pear Butter built their story over many years (at least 15 years, going by the anniversary time Mac rattles off). Pear Butter's last memory of her father is being disowned at her own wedding. Grand Pear lives with the guilt that he never apologized for that.
i was mainly going for the, "They love each other despite being part of two feuding families." above anything else.
DYWTBA_Universe with you, I got that easily, but most other reactors were also really hoping I'm really disappointed that we didn't see how the parents died too, A lot of them are saying oh it's Romeo and Juliet so they killed each other, it was getting irritating with the repetition.
I think the main difference is that they didn't commit suicide at the end, like Romeo and Juliet did because Romeo's stupid ass didn't think to check for a pulse.

We've seen twilights and shining armors in 's canterlot wedding part 2" & "the cutie re-mark" but only camieos
At the end when the threes grew together isn't impossible. That happens also in real life if the seeds are planted very close to each other because during the growth the roots will get in contact with each other and they merge together.
laszlo zsurka also, trees are very flexible whe young and can be molded to do things, people have twisted and bended to do art and structures when they get old.
On the India there are trees that are alive and well but are bend on ways so that they become huge naturàl bridges

And you can see in the wedding scene, they plant the seeds together at the same time, right next to each other. So even nature supports this, even without taking in Earth Pony Magic, or even Love Magic if you want to add that in. (There is an Alicorn of Love after all.)

You do realize how dark this show actually is at times right? There is no excuse to not talk about death at this point.
MortenStorvik it's not that dark plus we've known since season 3 that they were dead it's been a thing for years
MortenStorvik: It is not a matter of what the writers want to do or even what they think is best, it is a matter of what they are allowed to do.
Hasbro - like any other major company - has a Brand Management department charged with protecting that company's intellectual property. Writers and show runners are given a series of strict rules on what can and cannot be done, from tone and language to what jokes and weapons - if any - can be used. In this instance, one of Hasbro's rules is that there should be no direct acknowledgement of the death of a character - a pretty standard restriction for something aimed at a Y7 audience.
Star is TVY7, I thought, and they said kill and dead, but isn't MLP TVY?
I mean have you ever noticed in kids movies like barbie they say we will have to have you "destroyed" instead of "killed"
They did what they could do with the 20 minutes time limit. And it was beautiful.

How on earth did you not cry?! This is the first mlp episode that actually made me cry! When i saw that tree at the end, i literally bawled like a baby!

This is definitely the best episode of the season, and the second best of the series.
Parental Glideance was what made this the best season.
Then A Royal Problem hammered it in.
This cemented it.

I saw you on the live chat/stream whatever with Applegeek and the others; very cool. Something to remember them by; that's it! They're confirmed dead. I'm so sad but I knew they were, the hints that they've had throughout the series, and then the hints that they had with this episode; but that line seals the deal for me. I just wow, this is an amazing episode! Love this so much! Oh my gosh, I cried like a baby the first time I watched it, such a sweet, sad and beautiful episode! For the people who don't understand why adults like this show watch this episode! If you still don't understand then something is wrong with you, because this series is amazing! Favorite new episode of the season! Because of the rating they can't outright say how they died, but it was pretty obvious in this episode that they did. Great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.

Mayor Mare did have one minor part in "The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows", back in Season 5, but I think that's the last significant role she's played in any episodes until now.
33:25 I think when Buttercup said to Bright Mac about her family was close one as one could get in 20 minute format.
On to note this is the first episode I had to pause and go watch a bunch of funny videos then come back halfway through the song cuz I could not stop crying, second being the series finale.
A little fun fact I actually did the math using our Earth human years, and they've known each other for 16 plus years. Again that was using our human years might be different for them
How the heck did Bright Mac crash into the silo? He's pulls a plow, not driving a car, he could've stopped LONG before that!

one thing though is that since both applejack and big Mac never knew that much of there parents kind of makesthe timeline confusing with applebloom considering she is portrayed to be a kid to the point of using a fairy tale to help big Mac get with the pie lady. so how did both big Mac and applejack not know that much about there parents since they should have been with them till atleast maybe... 8? before they died.

It's our fault we got our fix when we really shouldn't have. And we may possibly have to wait a lot longer for the next few episodes.
Good news is, EG specials. All I can say about those is, I still haven't seen those. I will patiently wait for that reaction. Along with episode 12.
The RP is getting good. Skips sparred with Shining Armor, but in the end Shining just showed how superior his skills are. Aaaand Skips passed out from exhaustion. Also, Starlight, Sunburst, Lyserg, and Teric walk into a bar. Lyserg forgets to wear a cloak, and him being a cave dragon has attracted some unwanted attention. It was a roll of the dice and a flask of water contaminated with sleeping potion that kept the situation from escalating too much. Teric is best travelling dragon. Also, Lightning Ace is feeding his pet nine-tailed fox, which is still young.

This episode was beautifully written, it's a real gem/diamond in the rough. Favorite episode of the season(no contest, stuck a pin with glue on it, end of story).

Honestly I think this is one of the most 'meh' episodes in the series. All this episode is, is the billionth telling of Romeo and Juliet, with nothing to make it stand out from other tellings of this tired old story.
And the fact that we have been waiting to see AJ`s parents for nearly 7 seasons does not matter because why? Glossing over factors such as that because their story is inspired by an old one is rather shallow.
It's their personal opinion, and it's not really shallow. I personally loved this episode but I could understand if the trope-y story structure got in the way for some others. :)
Goku VS Usagi Tsukino The only similarity this episode has to romeo and juliet is just that 2 children of families that feud one another falls in love. everything else are completely different
