  • Craftsman’s Gas powered 2-cycle weed wacker
    My final take : Runs very well! I did not encounter any problems in my first 4-5 months of ownership given I only use it 3 times a month. I’ve only ran pre mixed 50:1 2-cycle fuel. Super easy to wind up your own line, I’ve made a video on HOW to load your line in. Also, the bump feature on the reel is full-proof 👌🏻

    Actually good to find a video made where the buyer uses it in front of the camera. Great video!!!

    Craftsman has actually really improved since Lowes took over. I have quite a few of their tools now and have no complaints on any of them. I have their electric weed wacker with a 4.0 AmpH battery and I can do 12-15 lawns on a single charge on it, no fill ups or maintenance.

    Thanks for schooling me brother, and being cognizant of the camara angles. Good job. Subscribing now. Also liked your tips about not filling it up all the way with gas (did not know that --makes sense), and getting it powered up at its pace before you go crazy with cutting --- did not know that either.

    I enjoyed the video very much. It was informative and instructional. I would like to recommend: 1. Wear at least a pair of darkened, UV 99%-100%, safety glasses. You only have one pair of eyes; 2. Do not manually extend the trimmer line while the machine in running. It might slip into gear; 3. Wear a pair of long pants and not shorts because some foreign objects can be hit by the trimmer line and become a projectile aimed at you or an innocent coworker or family member; and 4. Wear a pair of gloves of your choice. I was a safety officer (secondary duty) in the USAF. I investigated many base safety violations by trained grounds keepers and many of the accidents were preventable. Good luck and thanks for the video.

    Very good review, and thanks for the tips on proper use! I had seen that this model had gotten some poor reviews, but if you've had a good experience with it, then I wonder if the folks who didn't had either not used the right kind of fuel, or not gone through all the proper steps to start it up & warm it up.

    Ok since this video was made in Dec. of '22 I'd like to know if your still high on your craftsman machine? Are you ready to beat it into the concrete yet? I bought mine in June of '22! It started this summer fine but quickly went down hill! I noticed it took more and more times of pulling it to start! Then I used carb cleaner to get it to start and it ran fine. Now it wo t crank at all. Iv tried everything but replace of the coil! But I'm getting a spark so I feel there's no need yet! Iv taken the carb off and cleaned it, changed spark plugs (just in case) and used starting fluid and still no dice! Also changed the fuel filter! Did I mention it's the kind that takes other heads or adapters! Don't even get me started on the F'ing bump head BS and trying to restring it! I threw it somewhere and went and bought a head with the 3 little plastic blades on it! Those things are mean dude! If you can get the motor to crank!

    • @hmdwn
      @hmdwn 3 місяці тому +1

      @@williamlapratt7007 ... nope, no need for that premixed fuel and actually there's one brand (can't think of the name) but it ruined my old Eager Beaver leaf blower.

    • @GLEECED
      @GLEECED  11 місяців тому

      Hmmm how fast does it still spin? I think mine spins a little too tbh but more like a back in forth vibration not a circle spin if you understand. Maybe the shaft isn’t connected properly in the middle where you can take it apart in half

    Does it require you to wrap line around a spool that comes apart? I'm trying to find the model that has no bump button on the bottom or spool. You just cut a piece of line, then stick the line in a hole on one side of the head, then push it through the inside of the head, and it comes out the other side. When the line wears down shorter, you replace the line with a new piece that you cut to the right length, without having to load up a spool or bump anything. It may be a model they don't make anymore.
