please do testing on white paper! not many of us are coloring in books with tan paper. i am looking for a gold pen which looks like gold and not brown! only way to really see how bright and shiny the gold is, is on white or slightly off white paper. for now i am using a craft paint 24K gold with a fine brush
Gellirolls are pretty pricey here in Australia so I’ve never tried them. The ANKO skinny, fine nibbed metallic gel pens from Kmart are really good. $5 for a 12 pack from the craft section (not the kids) and they work better on pencil than my uniball signo. I find the lighter the pressure you use over pencil, the better gel pens work. I also love my posca 1MR for white. Full opacity in one stroke or dot. Almost never have to shake or press down on the nib. Super precise. Feels smooth on the page. I’ve ordered the gold to try. They have a very limited colour range of metallics in the fine nib. And the don’t offer the glitter ones in fine either. Thanks for the great video ❤️
I love the new books about Prismacolors! A bit high for my budget, but they are not overpriced for what they are at all, which is fabulous. Eventually, I may be able to get them, and some of your other books.
I think i bought a dud pen cos my uniball signo white is scratchy, railroads and doesn't show up on coloured pencil. Thanks for the review. Makes me want to try a new one.
I love watching these battle videos you do! Just wanted to mention that it would be useful to assign a meaning to each numeric value so is easier to score. For example if you are doing a 1 to 10, scale (well better yet a zero to ten) a zero would be when the critiria is not met by any means then: 1 deficient 2 poor 3 fair 4 decent 5 average, 6 good 7 satisfactory 8 outstanding 9 excellent 10 perfect Something like that, cause that way it will be easier to score cause no matter what you are testing, the scale will always be the same.. ❤
If you ever come to visit us in Texas (this is Danelle), we have a Japanese bookshop, Kinokuniya, and about half the store is stationary paper and pens. I recently started coloring with gel pens and have an excuse to shop their pens now 😅 Between Kinokuniya and the Mitsuwa Market it's inside I can scratch my visit japan itch while we wait for the kids to get a bit older and do an actual trip.
Not gels pens but I wanted to mention that yesterday I received the Uniposca Paint Markers 0.7mm in white, silver, and gold, AND OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!! If you havent try them, u HAVE to!!!!
Thank you so much for such a thorough review of these get pens. I am really not very knowledgeable about Gel pens at all, and this really helped me. Would the same rating be achieved when using the regular gel pens with colors from these three companies? For an overall set for using with colored pencils for a person who has to look at budget, as well as performance, which of these three would be the best option for performance? I have a question about Prismacolor Premier pencils. I bought a set 2 years ago in August, before the lavender and lilac were discontinued, and then found out that one of my two pencils was bright coral instead of light lavender anyway. That was when those colors had been discontinued. Could you tell me what the two colors are that took their place so I can request them open stock? Also, I was told that 26 new colors had been added to the set. Were these new colors not in the original 150 set? If so, where can I get them, and what are they called so I know that I am buying the new 26 colors and not dups for the rest of the 150 set I bought 2 yrs. ago? I saved for years for my Pismas, and now I am worried about not having all the colors. Also, I assume the Prismacolor 150 swatch sheet I bought on Coloring Bliss 2 years ago is probably not accurate anymore. Is there a new set of swatch sheets available that includes the two new lavenders and the 26 new colors? I'd really like to get my set up-dated and swatched out in your color family order. I have been a supporting member for about 10 years and really enjoy the videos and products that you and Steve provide to help us try to get organized. Thank you both so much.
I love your content Jennifer and Steve I hardly ever have use for white colored pencils or pens however I just don't use them much for coloring so I didn't like this video much but to each his own right? I hope you had a good Valentine's day !🥰
Thank you for the great comparison guys. With my art budget getting a little smaller it is good to get this information.
Happy Valentine Day!❤
Great comparison!! 👏👏

Great video, thanks!
I am so, so glad you did this testing. I have been debating which metallics to get. Thank you.
Interesting, signa are the ones I purchased because of being Uniball.
They appeared the best on the screen too.
Thanks for testing
Can’t wait to get #1. Thank you so very much! ❤
I love my Uniball. I won’t switch for the new one. Sakura pens have changed. I rarely use Sakura for anything.

Thank you for doing this test... As I suspected Uniball was the better pen but always like hearing about new contenders.

How are they on smudging?
I love the battles!! I remember when you did a white battle and the gelly roll win. I didn't know they made retractable. Hmmm...😅

Well I have the best of something for a change. Lol. Very interesting. So now I don't need to buy anymore. Would still like the metallic colors. Lol
Can't see the gold on the first swatch
On the tan paper

Boo hiss for how negative you are being to my favorite GelliRolls. Not my favorite video guys.
