This song takes me back to my freshman year of marching band, some of the best times of my life, I absolutely love this song done by you and it still hits me in the feels.
You’re the hero I needed, but not the hero I deserved. Now you get to be the payback for the arrangements of my fellow clarinetists’ music that I put in A major
This might be the cause of my divorce when I bring home a bass clarinet to play this. I am shocked to see that it is in A Concert. Thank you. This is great. May have to transpose it to Baritone Sax. Thank you again.
Yeah... transposed 1 octave lower and gonna jump in with a normal clarinet and tweek the few parts I can't go down to... tnx Michael! Oh and you know what?! I'm putting that thing in C major and I'm gonna tag along on my A clarinet. You are a masochist Michael. 🙂
WTF. What's wrong with your school? That clarinet won't get sick either at the school nor at your home. And if you get sick there is other things to worry about than if you need to disinfect the instrument afterwards. School: "They like playing their instrument? Let's take it away while they have nothing to do."
My kids always bring their instruments home. Only thing ever left at school for longer periods was a snare drum (we have a few of those). Can your band director access the school to retrieve your bass clarinet?
Thanks Mike! After playing it a few times I went back to the original video and then realized I didn't have to play the melody like I was playing a sax solo over a big band. Once I played the bass clarinet like a bass clarinet I could just lay it down. To everyone else - watch out for the slide from D# to C# if you don't have the alternate Eb-Ab like Mike :).
Thanks for this! Great to be able to blow away the dust from my bass clarinet with this kind of challenge. Love the ensemble playing, and this was great. (Some harmony solutions could I have done differently, but nevertheless)
Thank you for posting this minus-melody-version. This is awesome. However while tuning the audio to either C or B flat is easy, rewriting it from screen just to transpose it will be a lot of work.
What bass clarinet do you play on? I don't have the money for one now but plan on getting myself a new one that isn't from the 1920s in a few years lol. My current bass clarinet is super old.
This is a killer arrangement AND you give the fun to the audience? A virtual high five to you, sir.

That bass clarinet sound is mega thiccc

Thank you Mike! I lost some of my motivation to practice, but these play-alongs (especially this arrangement) are really great resources!
This is the quality content I subscribed for

Thank you for posting this, honestly helped me improve my effective range on my bass
Sucks i had to leave my bass clarinet at school because of the coronavirus 😢
Same here [insert emoticon here]. I'm devastated...

School: "They like playing their instrument? Let's take it away while they have nothing to do."
The same happened to me. I threatened to sue and they gave it back. I wasn’t willing to leave my $1k professional alto sax (THAT I PAID FOR) at school
I was lucky because I happened to bring my bass clarinet home to practice on the day they cancelled school

Awesome video! I would love to see more like this! Just started bass clarinet and this is really fun practice.
...and great to have it in A major as well...
This was fun! Thanks for putting it out there. I need to woodshed a couple spots, but definitely fun!
Wow I just watched the original and now you posted this, you read my mind 😳
Great job, Mike! I love the originality you bring to your channel
This is a nice break from all of this Corona stuff. Thank you! 💞
the content we deserve
This is awesome I'd love it if you could do one a little easier so I could play along I'm not quite at that level 🤪
Yeah key of b is rough
This is how we grow. I'm thinking of the work to transpose it into C, Eb, and G for my flutes. I sang the part, great fun!
Yes! One of my favorites! Thank you so much!

Would you be willing to do a video about “Paws” by David Bennet?
Don't know it. Send a pdf.
@@earspasm You're wonderful. Bravo!💛💛💛💛
Would it be fair use if I posted a video of me playing along to this on UA-cam?
key signature kills me
Now I don't feel alone ( cause I'm the one at my school who plays Bass Clarinet)!
The key though
That B major tho
Well it’s B major for the bass clarinet. It’s A major concert.
And it´s the original key... that really means something to some people. Go practice! :-)
A little earlier on those page turns please!
Not either of the "September" songs that I know, youngster, but nice.
Do you remember, the 21st rest of September?
😂😄
aaah why A major, jk
