I am glad UA-cam recommended your channel a couple of weeks ago as I was browsing Japan travel vlogs in preparation for a trip there. By now I have viewed about half of your postings. Although my original interests are mostly about Japan’s history, architecture and gardens, foods, and common people’s life, this recommendation gives me a new angle about expats there. We celebrate on Christmas Day, I live with my oldest son (38) and youngest (19) and we all work for the same company so we all had the day off. We exchanged gifts and I cooked all day! I made a huge breakfast and straight after put the biggest beef roast I’ve ever made into the oven (over 5 pounds) it took most of the day because I like to roast it low and slow so it gets nice and tender and with it being so big I split it into 3 parts and froze 2 so I can make vegetable beef stew and beef tacos at a later date

I tend to escape this xmas dictatorship when you have to be surrounded by lots of people who pretend they are happy. So you pretend you are. I really enjoy spending Christmas by myself. I usually travel abroad so I have a good reason not to be invited. Christmas is simplicity, and your dinner is all I would expect on such an "occasion." Don't make this day different from other days. Just make every day a Christmas day by indulging yourself with what you like, not what society tells you to like
Hmm... i never felt that people around me are faking their happiness, i dont pretend to be happy as well, i mean, being with people you love just makes your soul happy. ^^ Christmas is a day to make it extra special where people go out of their way to meet and enjoy the company of loved ones.
