Last night was a great ending of the day. For the first time I got to see a PTX video as it got streamed with the live chat (damn timezone) AND THIS!!! And there was a lot of Mitch on the PTX video too for once. I like last night!!!! I MO'd last night (Mitch overdose). I died and saw heaven... Not too found of getting up this morning though, so everything is normal again now :)

As a disclaimer, I don't know Mitch, but it's been wonderful, here in 2024, to see Mitch more mature by smiling again, looking healthy, happy and even more handsome than ever. His new guy seems well-suited to his personality and very good to him. I don't think it's in his nature to be as open with the pda as Scott and Mark, but everyone's noticing a definite in-love glow, which is a beautiful thing to see. His Messer project seems to give him joy and fulfillment and though I loved the "Roses"ep, I like the 2023 songs even better.
Mitch has been open about having a bad few years fighting depression and dealing with a lot of really vicious cyberbullying, much of it by so-called "fans" who got mad at him for withdrawing from social media for his mental health. They even went so far as to make false reports to UA-cam that got his Messer videos taken down at least twice, all because he was doing much of his fan interactions through his Patreon site. who can blame him? It made for a much calmer environment, the fans were super-nice and supportive of Mitch, Austin and each other, and the cost was minimal, less than $10 a month. He did did the smart thing in seeking professional treatment and pulling away from that often-toxic online environment until he felt better. It must have been awful to have been bullied so badly in his teen years, theen suffer the same cruelty as an adult when most people would expect to be safe. Still, he bounced back, and I imagine his honesty has been inspirational to many of his fans.
As a side note, last year I gave my daughter a Cameo from Mitch for her birthday and the 25th anniversary of her adoption. I explained in the form that although she is a couple months older than he is, she has special needs that put her at about the level of a tween. I know he doesn't phone in any of his Cameos, and is always super- sweet to his fans. I knew he would be unkind or dismissive, the way too many people are to those with intellectual disabilities--that's obviously not who he is--but the one he sent my daughter was longer than usual and so respectful, so completely kind it had me in tears. He talked about how much they had in common, how they were "twinning," sang her a beautiful "Happy Birthday" and told her how happy he was that PTX would be her first concert and that they'd all do their very best to make sure she had a wonderful. time. I didn't think I could love that man more (which isn't generally how I react to celebrities), but to see him make his message extra-special for her, which he didn't have to do, and my daughter over the moon with joy, is something I'll never forget.
And now that I've written a novel...
